Chapter Index

“Why did it take so long?”

Song Xinran looked at Xu Shaochen and asked, puzzled.

“Her bastard father came back. I gave him a good lesson, so this matter is settled permanently.”

Xu Shaochen downplayed what had just happened upstairs.

What does he mean by ‘heavy’? The fact that he bullied Zhou Sixian? He definitely can’t tell Song Xinran about that.

Hearing that Zhou’s Old Two could no longer harm Zhou Sixian, Song Xinran let out a sigh of relief and then asked, “Are you staying here tonight?”

    “Well…”

    “Ding, ding, ding…”

Just as Xu Shaochen was about to agree, his phone started to ring.

“Chairman Xu, that person is still at the company waiting. What do you think…”

“Quite patient, isn’t he? Alright, I got it.”

Xu Shaochen was a little surprised that Yun Changsheng had been waiting at the company since noon without leaving.

Indeed, only a deep lesson can make someone realize their mistake.

Sigh, I’m becoming more and more like a teacher these days.

Since the other party is so sincere, if I still keep up this pretense and don’t see him, it would be petty of me.

“Looks like tonight’s not going to work.”

After hanging up the phone, Xu Shaochen looked at Song Xinran, somewhat apologetically.

“If you have business to take care of, go ahead.” Song Xinran pouted and silently cursed the caller in her mind.

She hadn’t spent a night with Xu Shaochen in a long time.

    “Good girl.”

Xu Shaochen kissed her on the forehead, waved goodbye, and turned to leave.

After going downstairs, Xu Shaochen initially intended to have Long Er drive him to the company.

But then he received a call from Ye Yang, inviting him out for a drink.

After pondering for a moment, Xu Shaochen asked for the address from Ye Yang and then called the company, telling Yun Changsheng to meet him at the location Ye Yang had mentioned.

About twenty minutes later, Xu Shaochen arrived at his destination.

    The Imperial Club.

This place was owned by Ye Huaiyuan.

After all, the Imperial Club was the most prestigious venue in Jiangzhou, so it made sense that Ye Yang would choose this place.

It had both class and showed sincerity.

As soon as Xu Shaochen’s car stopped, a security guard quickly stepped forward to open the car door, making Long Yi, who was just about to do the same, feel a bit awkward.

Damn it, a security guard just stole my job.

    “Good evening, Mr. Xu.”

The security guard respectfully addressed Xu Shaochen.

    “You know me?”

Xu Shaochen raised an eyebrow in surprise as he looked at the security guard.

“I don’t know you personally, but I recognized the license plate.” The security guard replied honestly.

Xu Shaochen nodded. It seemed that either Ye Pengfei or Ye Huaiyuan had made sure all the security guards memorized the license plates of his cars.

Though it was a bit over the top, going to this extent showed dedication.

Xu Shaochen walked straight into the club without looking sideways, and Long Yi handed a few bills to the security guard.

    “Thank you, Mr. Xu.”

The security guard beamed with joy and loudly thanked Xu Shaochen.

    “Good evening, Mr. Xu.”

Another security guard at the door straightened up and greeted Xu Shaochen as he walked by.

“Oh, Mr. Xu, your shoes are dirty. Let me clean them for you.”

Without waiting for a response, the security guard crouched down, breathed on the shoe, and wiped it clean with his sleeve.

“All done. Please, this way, Mr. Xu.”

The security guard stood up, bowed, and gestured for him to enter.

Xu Shaochen glanced at him and then walked through the doors of the Imperial Club.

Long Yi also handed out a larger tip this time, more than the one given to the previous guard.

    “Thank you, Mr. Xu.”

The security guard was overjoyed. Lucky for him, he was sharp-eyed. Tsk, tsk, tsk. A thousand bucks just for cleaning a shoe!

    “Mr. Xu, welcome.”

As soon as Xu Shaochen stepped inside, the manager of the club, with a fawning smile on his face, immediately came forward to greet him, bowing.

    “Good evening, Mr. Xu.”

    “Hello, Mr. Xu.”

In the lobby, people who recognized Xu Shaochen all greeted him. Those who didn’t also pretended they did, joining in with the hellos.

“I have an appointment with someone named Ye Yang.”

Xu Shaochen said to the manager in a calm tone.

The manager glanced at a nearby employee, who quickly turned and left.

Then the manager gestured for Xu Shaochen to follow, saying, “This way please, Mr. Xu.”

On the other side, Ye Yang was still puzzled. Wasn’t today supposed to be that there were no Diamond Rooms available? How come they suddenly made one available for him, and for free?

“Excuse me, can you explain what’s going on?”

Ye Yang asked the employee who had led him into the Diamond Room. Why was something so good suddenly falling into his lap?

The employee forced a smile. “Mr. Ye, if you had told us earlier that you had a meeting with Mr. Xu, we almost made a big mistake.”

Ye Yang finally realized that it was all because of Xu Shaochen.

At that moment, he once again felt just how terrifying Xu Shaochen’s status in Jiangzhou truly was.

When he first came to the Imperial Club and tried to reserve a Diamond Room, he was told they were all fully booked.

Anyone capable of booking a Diamond Room wasn’t ordinary, either rich or noble, so he didn’t dare make a fuss and reluctantly settled for a large room instead.

But now that Xu Shaochen had arrived, the club immediately vacated a Diamond Room for him. The most crucial part was that the original guest gave it up without any hesitation.

In fact, Xu Shaochen might not have even known about this.

Ye Yang couldn’t help but draw a sharp breath. If he could ever reach Xu Shaochen’s level, it would be worth dying for.

The employee left, but Ye Yang’s mind was still in turmoil, unable to calm down.

Moments later, the door to the room opened, and Ye Yang saw the same manager who had initially greeted him without much deference now bowing deeply to Xu Shaochen as they entered.

He used to think that this manager would never bend his back, but now it seemed like it depended on the person.

“Young Master Xu, you’re here! Please, take a seat.”

Ye Yang suppressed his feelings and smiled as he stood up to welcome Xu Shaochen.

He had originally addressed him as “Mr. Xu,” but now switched to “Young Master Xu” to create a sense of closeness.

“Young Master Ye, sorry to keep you waiting.”

Xu Shaochen returned the smile and grasped Ye Yang’s extended hand.

“You’re too kind, Young Master Xu. I just arrived myself.”

Ye Yang said as he and Xu Shaochen both sat on the sofa.

Long Yi and Long Er immediately took up positions in the two corners of the room, facing the door.

“Mr. Xu, if you need anything, just let me know. I’ll leave so I’m not in your way.”

The manager said this respectfully to Xu Shaochen and then slowly backed away. Upon reaching the door, he turned and exited, his every move showing utmost reverence.
