Chapter Index

“Young Master Xu, I feel really sorry about the issue with that land. Tonight, I wanted to apologize to you for that.”

After some small talk, Ye Yang raised his wine glass and said, then drank it all in one go.

“Young Master Ye, there’s no need to apologize. Besides, we still have another guest who hasn’t arrived.” Xu Shaochen’s face showed a faint smile.

Ye Yang was momentarily stunned, but then a flash of insight crossed his mind. “Yun Changsheng?”

“Mr. Xu, there’s a gentleman named Yun waiting outside…”

Just as Ye Yang finished speaking, the club’s manager walked in, confirming Ye Yang’s guess.

    “Let him in.”

Xu Shaochen interrupted the manager before he could say more.

A moment later, Yun Changsheng walked into the room. When he saw Ye Yang, his expression subtly changed.

    “Second Brother, you’re here too.”

In just a moment, the gloom in Yun Changsheng’s eyes disappeared, replaced by a gentle smile.

“Hmph! Hypocrite. You’re probably cursing me out in your heart, wishing to tear me to pieces. So why put on a smile?”

Ye Yang looked at Yun Changsheng with a sarcastic smile, speaking with complete disdain.

He didn’t leave Yun Changsheng any face at all.

Yun Changsheng’s face alternated between shades of blue and white, veins bulging on his forehead. He never expected Ye Yang to not even bother with formalities and essentially slap him across the face, leaving him dazed.

Seeing Yun Changsheng’s angry yet helpless expression gave Ye Yang a sense of satisfaction.

    Why was he doing this?

Because he knew that his biggest supporter now was Xu Shaochen. All he needed to do was cling to Xu Shaochen.

    As for the Yunyang Group?

Heh, by following Xu Shaochen, maybe I could even create a Ye Yang Group. Who cares about the Yunyang Group?

So, there was no need to tolerate Yun Changsheng. He wanted Xu Shaochen to see that he was a straightforward person, unlike the hypocritical Yun Changsheng.

Persons who are straightforward are more likable than a deep schemer like Yun Changsheng.

Yun Changsheng took a deep breath, ignoring Ye Yang’s gloating attitude, and respectfully said to Xu Shaochen, “Mr. Xu, I sincerely apologize for my earlier behavior. I hope you can be the bigger person and not hold it against me.”

“Sincerely apologize? Really? I don’t see any sincerity in your apology.” Ye Yang remarked sarcastically, his arrogance evident.

Yun Changsheng’s face twitched, suppressing the urge to beat Ye Yang up, and continued speaking to Xu Shaochen, “Mr. Xu, you can have that piece of land for five billion. We won’t make a profit, just consider it a gesture of friendship. Of course, if you have a different price in mind, you can let us know.”

The five billion was just a surface figure; the real point was in the last sentence. As long as Xu Shaochen was willing, he could take the land for free.

Of course, nothing in the world is truly free. If Xu Shaochen took the land without paying a penny,

whether he liked it or not, he would owe the Yunyang Group a favor.

In the future, that favor might bring the Yunyang Group fifteen billion or even fifty billion in revenue.

Xu Shaochen was well aware of this. He smiled lightly and said to Yun Changsheng, “Five billion it is. Have a seat and let’s have a drink. I’m always happy to make friends.”

    “Yes, thank you, Mr. Xu.”

While Yun Changsheng breathed a sigh of relief, he also felt a bit disappointed. He surely understood the value difference between five billion and a favor from Xu Shaochen.

Then they moved on to discussing more frivolous matters. With Xu Shaochen present, neither Ye Yang nor Yun Changsheng dared to go overboard, keeping the atmosphere harmonious.

When it came to entertainment, Ye Yang could be regarded as an expert. The various activities he suggested left Xu Shaochen and Yun Changsheng both amazed.

Even Long Yi and Long Er, standing behind them, were stunned.

They realized that the wealthy are not as happy as they imagined.

Their happiness is something that people like us, the poor, can’t even fathom.

    “Bang!”

At this moment, the door of the room was pushed open, interrupting the trio’s conversation.

All three of them immediately turned their gaze towards the door.

A young man in a black shirt walked in. He was tall, with a handsome face, definitely a pretty boy.

A stern-faced bodyguard followed closely behind him.

“What’s going on? Isn’t this the right room?”

The young man looked at Xu Shaochen and the others, frowning as he muttered to himself.

Ye Yang instantly understood. This young man must be the guest of the original owner of this Diamond Room.

Thinking of this, he quickly said, “Friend, this room was given to us by the original owner. You can give your friend a call to find out which room they are in now.”

“Given to you? Interesting, really interesting.”

The young man echoed the words as if he had heard something amusing, a look of disbelief mixed with sarcasm.

Then he casually waved his hand at the three of them, “Alright, you three can get lost now. I want this room.”

“Friend, isn’t this against the rules? Your friend already gave us this room…” Ye Yang frowned and spoke.

“Against the rules? Do you know why they reserved this room? Just because I like it!”

“I don’t care why they gave you guys the room, but now that I’m here, it’s mine. Do you understand?”

Before Ye Yang could finish, the young man interrupted him impatiently.

Ye Yang and Yun Changsheng both looked at Xu Shaochen. They had no other choice. This was Jiangzhou, not Yijing; they couldn’t handle this situation themselves.

“You say it’s yours? Does it have your name on it?”

Xu Shaochen put down his wine glass and looked at the young man, speaking calmly.

“Damn! I’ve only been away for a few years, and now any Tom, Dick, or Harry dares to jump around in front of me. I’ll give you three seconds—get out, or I’ll let you take a dip in tonight’s cold sea.”

The young man cursed, then looked at Xu Shaochen with a cold smile, his threat unsubtle.

“Fine. If you say it’s yours, then it’s yours.”

Xu Shaochen stayed silent for a moment, then smiled, nodded, and began to leave.

Yun Changsheng and Ye Yang exchanged confused glances, not understanding why Xu Shaochen was giving in. A room isn’t that important, but face is.

But Xu Shaochen didn’t need to explain to them.

    “Have fun.”

As he passed by the young man, Xu Shaochen patted him on the shoulder.

Then, without looking back, he left.

“Damn, trying to act cool in front of me, tired of living are you?”

The young man scoffed dismissively, then pulled out his phone to call his friends.
