Chapter 334: Is the Sea Water Cold?
by xennovel“Mr. Xu, why aren’t you playing anymore?”
Seeing Xu Shaochen and his group walk out, the Manager quickly walked up to them.
“We’ve had enough. It’s about time to head back.”
Xu Shaochen smiled slightly at the Manager, then walked out of the Imperial Club without looking back.
The Manager stood in place, feeling like something wasn’t right, but couldn’t pinpoint where.
A minute or two after Xu Shaochen left, an employee came over and whispered something into the Manager’s ear.
The Manager’s face suddenly changed, and cold sweat the size of beans trickled down his forehead. He muttered to himself, “It’s over, we’re in big trouble…”
Outside the Imperial Club.
“Let’s call it a night. We’ll continue drinking after the land contract is signed. I’ll treat you both then.”
As soon as Xu Shaochen finished speaking, he got into the car and drove away himself.
“Do you think… he just let it go?”
Watching the black Audi merge into traffic, Ye Yang still couldn’t figure it out. Xu Shaochen didn’t seem like someone who would just endure. Furthermore, at his level, there’s no one or nothing he needs to tolerate, because he has no concerns.
“Idiot, try using the head above your shoulders to think, not just the one below. Wait and see. If I’m not mistaken, that guy will be in trouble tonight.”
Yun Changsheng gave Ye Yang a mocking look, then lit a cigarette and strode away.
Ye Yang stood in place for a long time before he finally grasped the situation.
Xu Shaochen had just driven off by himself. Long Yi and Long Er, who were following him, hadn’t left yet.
Looking at it this way, the cockier that guy was earlier, the more miserable he will be tonight.
“Damn, smiling tiger indeed.”
Ye Yang cursed softly, hailed a taxi casually, and went back to the hotel.
Inside the Imperial Club.
“Young Master Cheng, where… Where are the original guests of this room?”
A group of rich heirs stood at the entrance of the Diamond Room that Xu Shaochen was in earlier, not daring to go in. They looked at the Young Man in Black Shirt and asked.
“Of course, I kicked them out. At least they have some sense; otherwise, I’d have no problem feeding them to the fish.”
Cheng Gong sat on the sofa with a smug look on his face, then waved his hand, “Come in! Why are you standing at the door? I just returned from abroad. Drink a few with me.”
“Y-Young Master Cheng, you… you’ve caused big trouble. Those people just now were not ordinary.”
The rich heirs looked at each other with teary eyes and anxiously said to Cheng Gong.
“Not ordinary? How so? On this Jiangzhou land, what, are they going to grow wings and fly?”
Cheng Gong sneered at this. Just three small fries he’d never seen before—what’s the big deal.
These people, though, have really lost their edge, getting worse by the day. Back when they were hanging with me, they were so arrogant.
Now they’re all so cautious, where’s their sharpness gone?
“Young Master Cheng, we’ve got something else to do, we’ll be off. Enjoy your drinks.”
The group exchanged glances and none of them stepped into the room. They quickly turned and bolted away.
“No use trying to make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear.”
Watching the group flee in panic, Cheng Gong sneered contemptuously, then waved to his bodyguard, “You, come drink with me.”
“Young Master, I have to drive later.”
The bodyguard refused politely, and Cheng Gong didn’t insist.
Drinking alone wasn’t fun. After about twenty minutes, the bodyguard helped the drunken Cheng Gong walk out of the Imperial Club.
Just after they left the club, the bodyguard stiffened and stopped.
Experience told him that there were two guns pointed at his waist from either side.
“Brothers, what path are you from…”
The bodyguard didn’t dare turn around. He forced himself to remain calm and tried to negotiate.
Long Yi and Long Er ignored him, merely nudging the guns into his back. The bodyguard wisely kept his mouth shut and helped the drunken Cheng Gong into a taxi.
“It’s you two!”
Inside the taxi, he finally had a chance to see Long Yi and Long Er’s faces. Of course, he remembered they were the two who were standing in the corner of the room just now.
“You’ve got guts. Do you know who my Young Master is? If something happens to him, you won’t escape!”
The bodyguard glared at Long Yi and Long Er, threatening them.
“Bang!”
Long Yi drove while Long Er smashed the gun down on the bodyguard’s head.
“Ah!”
The bodyguard screamed, instinctively covering the wound which began to seep blood through his fingers.
The taxi sped wildly down the road. About half an hour later, they arrived at a relatively secluded beach.
They picked up the drunken Cheng Gong and dunked him into the seawater.
“Mmm… Let go of me…”
The drunken Cheng Gong immediately sobered up.
Only then did Long Yi and Long Er throw him onto the ground.
“It’s you guys! What are you doing? How dare you kidnap me! Are you looking to die?!”
Catching his breath, Cheng Gong stared at Long Yi and Long Er, shouting furiously.
Long Yi chuckled and threw Cheng Gong into the sea again, repeatedly holding his head down in the seawater.
“No, no! I’ll give you whatever you want! Please let me go… let me go.”
By the twentieth time Long Yi was about to dunk him again, Cheng Gong couldn’t hold out any longer. He was sobbing, snot and tears running down his face.
Seeing that he’d had enough, Long Yi threw him onto the beach.
“Huff… huff…”
Cheng Gong lay on the beach, gasping for air, his heart filled with relief as if he’d narrowly escaped death.
Long Er took out his phone and made a video call. Looking coldly at Cheng Gong, he said, “Our boss wants to speak to you.”
Long Yi stepped forward, grabbed Cheng Gong, and forced him to face the phone.
On the screen, Xu Shaochen appeared with a smile, while Linda, in a black strap dress, fed him fruits.
“Is the sea water cold?”
Xu Shaochen looked at Cheng Gong and asked calmly.
Cheng Gong remained silent, but inside, he was burning with rage, swearing he would take revenge on Xu Shaochen.
“Smack!”
Long Yi slapped Cheng Gong across the face. “Our boss asked you a question. Are you deaf?”
Cheng Gong gave Long Yi a fierce look, then squeezed out through gritted teeth as he looked at Xu Shaochen on the screen: “Cold!”
He hadn’t expected to face such humiliation right after returning home. This was beyond outrageous. If he didn’t get revenge, how could he survive in Jiangzhou?
“Cold, good. That way you’ll remember it. Remember, since you just came back from abroad, you should take some time to understand the current situation in Jiangzhou. Don’t go around looking for trouble all the time.”
Xu Shaochen spoke lightly to Cheng Gong, then ended the video call.
“Kid, our boss is in a good mood today. Otherwise, you wouldn’t just be taking a cold dip; you’d be feeding the fish.”
Long Er looked at Cheng Gong mockingly, then both he and Long Yi drove off in the taxi they had taken.
