Chapter 35: I’m Afraid I Might Kill You
by xennovelNight.
Xu Shaochen lay on the bed.
This was his first time staying in such a nice place. He found it hard to fall asleep.
Out of boredom, Xu Shaochen took out his phone and opened the ‘YQ’ app, ready to tease Teacher Zhao.
Xu Shaochen: Are you asleep?
On the other side, Zhao Qingyu felt a shiver run through her as she saw the message from Xu Shaochen and then replied: Not yet. Xu Shaochen: Beauty, your legs are really nice. Can you send me a few more pictures?
Zhao Qingyu gritted her teeth in frustration. This bastard, he knows I’m his teacher, yet he still makes such requests. She was furious, but a part of her was also intrigued.
Zhao Qingyu sent a few more pictures of her legs, giving Xu Shaochen a feast for his eyes.
After chatting for almost an hour, the two finally said goodnight. Xu Shaochen finally fell asleep.
On the other hand, Zhao Qingyu in her dorm couldn’t sleep. She regretted sending those pictures, feeling she had fallen too low. She knew it was Xu Shaochen, yet she continued chatting with him.
Thinking about their chat, Zhao Qingyu’s face flushed red. It felt like there was a fire burning inside her, her eyes growing misty as she kept murmuring Xu Shaochen’s name.
Tonight, she was destined to stay awake.
………………
At six in the morning.
Xu Shaochen was woken up by his internal clock.
Ever since practicing martial arts with his father, he was used to waking up early. Even when staying at the school dorm, he would wake up and head to the garden to practice.
These past few days, he had gotten a bit lazy after suddenly becoming rich, but today he was back on track.
After dressing and freshening up, Xu Shaochen left the villa and went to the park within the villa complex. He found a good spot and started practicing.
He practiced the martial arts passed down from his father. The core principles were speed, precision, and ferocity, aiming to defeat the enemy in one move, without giving them a second chance to resist.
“Kid, you’d better move. My boss always uses this spot.”
Just as Xu Shaochen finished a set of moves, a deep voice reached his ears.
Xu Shaochen turned around to see an elder in a white robe approaching, accompanied by a middle-aged man in a suit.
It was the arrogant-looking middle-aged man beside the elder who had spoken.
“If you had asked nicely, I might have moved, but now, I just want to know—does this place have your name on it?”
Xu Shaochen sneered, showing a mocking expression as he looked at the middle-aged man.
“You… Kid, you better think carefully before you speak. Otherwise, with your fancy, flashy moves, I doubt you could even take one attack from me.”
Wang Meng was furious. He didn’t expect the other party to be so disrespectful. His eyes flashed with cold light as he spoke.
“Fancy, flashy moves? Heh, you can try. I doubt you could handle them.”
Xu Shaochen’s eyes narrowed slightly. The other man’s haughty manner really annoyed him.
“Xiao Wang, that’s enough. What’s the point in arguing with a young man?” Sun Yaowen stopped Wang Meng from continuing and looked at Xu Shaochen with a smile, saying, “Young man, don’t take it to heart. The place is big enough. We can practice separately.”
“Elders speak with wisdom. Please, go ahead.” Respect is mutual. Xu Shaochen showed the elder proper courtesy.
Sun Yaowen didn’t stand on ceremony. He immediately took up a stance and started practicing Tai Chi. This wasn’t the usual Tai Chi seen in parks; it was the real thing.
Even though Sun Yaowen was elderly, his movements were fluid and graceful, making Xu Shaochen feel at ease just watching.
“Hoo—”
After completing a set, Sun Yaowen stood up straight and looked at Xu Shaochen with a smile, “Young man, how was it?”
“Very good. But if I’m not mistaken, sir, you started practicing martial arts later in life. Your foundation seems a bit shaky!” Xu Shaochen started with praise but then pointed out what he observed.
“Nonsense! What do you, a young brat, know about martial arts? What qualifications do you have to critique my boss’s techniques? You don’t know your limits!”
Before the elder could respond, Wang Meng stepped in, looking at Xu Shaochen with disdain.
“Heh, believe what you will.”
Xu Shaochen chuckled lightly. He wasn’t going to argue with a fool and lower his own IQ.
Feeling Xu Shaochen’s dismissive attitude, Wang Meng grew angrier, gritting his teeth, “If you’ve got the guts, let’s have a match. I want to see how strong you are.”
“There’s no need.” Xu Shaochen shook his head, refusing.
Wang Meng sneered, looking down on Xu Shaochen, “What, are you scared?”
“Yes, I’m scared I won’t be able to hold back and might kill you.”
Xu Shaochen casually threw out this remark, then cupped his fists towards Sun Yaowen, paying his respects before turning to leave.
“Stand right there!”
Xu Shaochen’s blatant disregard was a great humiliation to Wang Meng. He let out an angry shout and threw a punch at Xu Shaochen from behind.
“Xiao Wang, stop!”
Sun Yaowen didn’t expect Wang Meng to suddenly attack. His face changed drastically, but it was too late by the time he called out.
“You’re seeking death!”
Feeling the force of the attack from behind, Xu Shaochen’s eyes flashed with cold light. He quickly turned around and delivered a fierce airborne kick.
Since the other party kept pushing his luck, Xu Shaochen wasn’t going to hold back.
“Bang!”
“Crack!”
In an instant, Xu Shaochen’s kick landed on Wang Meng’s arm. A crisp sound echoed as Wang Meng’s right arm visibly twisted and deformed.
“Aaaah!”
Wang Meng let out a blood-curdling scream, clutching his broken right arm, howling in pain. His face turned pale, and sweat as big as beans rolled down his forehead. He was in so much pain that even his facial muscles started twitching.
“Elder, take care of your man. Sneak attacks don’t end well. This time, he met me, but next time, it might not just be his arm.”
Without even glancing at Wang Meng, Xu Shaochen looked at Sun Yaowen and said this calmly before leaving without turning back.
“Sigh, why did you have to be so impulsive… But maybe it’s for the best. Consider this a lesson. You really need to change your temper.”
Sun Yaowen shook his head helplessly, looking at Wang Meng. Although he knew what Xu Shaochen said was true—he did start martial arts too late, and his fundamentals weren’t solid.
“Boss, I must find him!” Wang Meng gritted through the pain, clenching his teeth.
Sun Yaowen’s face darkened, and he shouted angrily, “Nonsense! Are you thinking of going for revenge? Haven’t you lost enough face?”
“No… I want to become his disciple. I’ve never seen such a domineering kick.”
Wang Meng spoke through gritted teeth, his face completely drained of color, but his eyes were filled with an intense passion, a passion for martial arts.
Sun Yaowen was stunned. For a moment, he didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. Shaking his head, he said, “You can find him whenever, but first, let’s get you to the hospital. If we’re late, you might lose that arm altogether.”
