Chapter Index

    Morning.

Xu Shaochen, Mei Liangxin, Zhao Qing, and Zhang Wei were having breakfast in the hotel’s restaurant area.

Originally, Long Yi and Long Er were asked to join them, but they refused and insisted on sitting at another table.

“You didn’t tell your sister anything last night, right?”

Xu Shaochen scrutinized Mei Liangxin across the table, thinking if he had mentioned Xu’s various affairs to Mei Liangying, his plans would be over.

“I didn’t talk about your mess, besides, even if I did, it’s just stating the facts.”

Mei Liangxin rolled his eyes at Xu Shaochen.

“Do you have a sister?” Zhang Wei and Zhao Qing asked, rubbing their hands, looking a bit bashful.

“Scram!” Mei Liangxin cursed, thinking they wanted him to matchmake for them, as if he were some matchmaking deity.

    “Thump thump thump…”

A series of footsteps approached, and seven or eight men in suits surrounded them.

“Second Young Master, the Boss asks you to return home.”

The leader addressed Mei Liangxin bluntly, ignoring Xu Shaochen and the others.

“Why go home? Of course to prepare for the liver transplant surgery after which Mei Liangxin would be rendered useless.”

Mei Liangxin looked at Xu Shaochen.

“Take your people and leave, we’ll go over after finishing breakfast,” Xu Shaochen said without looking up as he stirred his seafood porridge.

“Mr. Xu, please don’t make things difficult for us,” the leader said.

“I think your boss doesn’t want trouble from me,” Xu Shaochen replied, looking at him.

The leader frowned but eventually said, “We’ll wait here for the Second Young Master.”

    “Bang!”

Suddenly, Long Yi from another table stood up and punched one of them to the ground.

Ignoring the rest of the Mei Family’s restless expressions, he looked down coldly and said, “I think you don’t understand our boss’s words. If you don’t leave, I’ll personally oversee your family’s memorial service.”

The leader got up from the ground, spat out some blood, and reluctantly glanced at Xu Shaochen, muttering a word through gritted teeth: “Go.”

With that, he led his men away in dejection.

“They can’t wait any longer,” Mei Liangxin smirked with a cold smile.

Xu Shaochen smiled calmly, took out his phone, and called Liu Yingdong: “Bring over the things from the Mei Family.”

About twenty minutes later, Liu Yingdong, dragging his obese body and panting heavily, ran over.

“Young Director, here’s what you needed.”

Liu Yingdong, still catching his breath, respectfully handed an envelope to Xu Shaochen with a pen clipped on it.

    “Plop.”

Without even looking, Xu Shaochen tossed it in front of Mei Liangxin: “Sign it. Once you sign, you’ll be the largest shareholder of the Mei Corporation and the new Chairman after the board meeting.”

These arrangements had been discreetly set up by Xu Shaochen before they came to Songshan.

Everything was done in secrecy; several key members of the Mei Company had been heavily bribed. The whole process was silent.

Even some Mei family executives were bought over, so the fortress often crumbles from within.

Mei Tianqing, who focused all his attention on Mei Liangchen, knew nothing about it.

“Really gifting this to me?” Mei Liangxin said with a half-smile. He imagined Xu Shaochen must have paid more than the original price for those shares.

Otherwise, those shareholders wouldn’t have compromised or sold their shares.

Xu Shaochen nodded: “You’re worth more than these shares.”

Zhang Wei and Zhao Qing shivered, feeling a sense of intense fervor.

“I’ll sign it. But how much did it cost? I’ll repay you later. Business is business, even brothers settle accounts.”

Mei Liangxin said as he took out the Stock Ownership Contract from the envelope and promptly signed it.

Xu Shaochen did not refuse; if Mei Liangxin wanted to repay the money, then so be it. After all, it wouldn’t affect him much.

“From today, we’ll have to call you Chairman Mei,” Zhang Wei said enviously.

“Hiss—ah!” Mei Liangxin suddenly sucked in a breath, feeling as if he floated. He looked at Zhang Wei and said, “What did you just call me? Dare you repeat it?”

    Everyone: “…”

    “Sit down and eat together.”

Xu Shaochen said to Liu Yingdong.

Liu Yingdong quickly waved his hand: “No, no, I have things to do, Young Director. I’ll be off now.”

“Alright, you go first,” Xu Shaochen nodded.

After breakfast, the group headed straight to the Mei Family.

This trip was to make the Mei Family realize who the real master was.

    ……………

    Mei Family.

    “Boss, that’s what happened.”

A bodyguard roughly recounted the events at the hotel.

“Hmph! This brat is just relying on Xu Shaochen’s backing, how outrageous!”

After hearing it, Mei Tianqing cursed in anger.

“Godfather, why don’t I take some people there?” Chen Hui volunteered.

Mei Tianqing shook his head: “No need. If he said they’d come, they certainly would. But it won’t be simple when they do.”

“So what? Mei Liangxin is still a Mei, and if he enters the Mei Family, leaving is mere fantasy,” a confident Mei family member remarked, echoing everyone’s thoughts.

However, a few people’s eyes darted around; they were the ones Xu Shaochen had bribed, holding key positions in the company.

Because they were bought, the changes in company ownership were unknown to Mei Tianqing.

    “Boss, they’re here.”

At this moment, a bodyguard reported.

“Hmph! Let’s see this rebel and Mr. Xu who supports him.”

Mei Tianqing snorted coldly and rose from the sofa, striding out of the living room while others followed.

Those in Xu Shaochen’s employ exchanged glances; they alone knew today marked the Mei Family’s power shift.

However, they felt fearless, assured of their continued importance even under Mei Liangxin’s leadership.

“Mr. Xu, thank you for coming such a long way. Mei apologizes for not welcoming you properly.”

Mei Tianqing said with a smile, addressing Xu Shaochen heartily.

“No need for formality; I’m not the protagonist today,” Xu Shaochen said calmly.

Mei Tianqing glanced at Mei Liangxin, his face darkening as he said to Xu Shaochen, “I welcome you, but our Mei family affairs are not open to outsiders.”

“Today, I’m just here as a spectator, as long as the Mei family doesn’t resort to violence, I won’t interfere.” Xu Shaochen stated, setting his boundary for today’s events.
