Chapter Index

“Dad, save me, save me! He’s going to make me die, your only son!”

Si Mingfei cried to Si Nancheng, not expecting things to escalate this much.

He had planned everything out; Xu Shaochen would die, Lei Laohu would also be gone, leaving no witnesses—an ideal ending.

But who would have known Lei Laohu would kidnap the wrong person, and coincidentally, that person was Huang Wenqiang.

Now, all his plans were in disarray, and he was struggling desperately.

“You brat! I’ll kill you for this!”

Seeing Si Mingfei like this, Si Nancheng was furious and kicked him twice.

“What are you doing! Killing him now won’t help. Think about what to do!”

Mrs. Si held Si Nancheng back from continuing to beat their son.

    “Slap!”

“You’ve spoiled him to become like this! He’s like this because of you!”

Si Nancheng slapped Mrs. Si, gritting his teeth as he yelled.

It looked like the entire Si Family’s foundation was about to crumble, and he couldn’t help but be angry.

“Go ahead, beat me and our son to death if you wish! Hit us!”

Mrs. Si fired up like a tigress, leaving Si Nancheng helpless.

Also, now wasn’t the time to argue about this; he just couldn’t control his anger earlier.

Having vented, he finally thought more clearly.

“Ugh, there’s only one last way out.”

After a while, Si Nancheng sighed, speaking resignedly.

Then Si Nancheng called Jiang Yaohai.

    …………

“Mr. Jiang, it’s so late. What do you want with me?”

In the restaurant area of the Songshan Hotel, it was already late at night, and only Xu Shaochen and Jiang Yaohai were present.

“It’s a bit hard to say, but I must. I hope Young Master Xu will kindly let the Si Family off this time.”

Jiang Yaohai poured Xu Shaochen a cup of tea and spoke calmly.

“Mr. Jiang must be joking. If there’s nothing else, I need to rest. It’s been a busy night, and I’m exhausted.”

Xu Shaochen replied ambiguously, not engaging further.

“Young Master Xu, won’t you give me this face? I thought we could be friends. Why annihilate the Si Family?”

Jiang Yaohai asked, knowing the Si Family promised Xu Shaochen some benefits.

But he didn’t mention it; he knew Xu Shaochen wasn’t interested in minor gains from the Si Family.

Xu Shaochen’s expression grew colder. He stared at Jiang Yaohai and said, “Mr. Jiang, I told the Si Family an hour ago, not even Jesus could save Si Mingfei. Do you think you’re greater than Jesus?”

“Young Master Xu, I tried to talk to you first. If you refuse, I must resort to some inferior methods.”

Jiang Yaohai shook his head with feigned helplessness and said, “Earlier, Chen Hui gave me confidential production data from Mei Corporation. I’ve heard you and Mei Liangxin are good friends and won’t let this data spread, would you?”

He handed a copy of the document to Xu Shaochen to add weight to his words.

He intended to use this document to force Xu Shaochen out of the New City Construction project at a critical moment.

But Si Nancheng approached him, and he had to use it here.

There was no choice; the Si Family offered an irresistible price.

He wouldn’t earn much from the New City project, maybe a few million at best. Most profits went to others.

But Si Nancheng offered 70% of the Si Family’s assets and five billion in cash.

Such a huge temptation, no one would refuse, nor could he.

He had ambition; he didn’t want to be a mere employee at Sheng Qin Group forever.

“Chen Hui, damn it.” A cold gleam flashed in Xu Shaochen’s eyes as he spoke icily.

Jiang Yaohai thought he had hit Xu Shaochen’s weak spot, smiled smugly: “Whether Chen Hui deserves to die is none of my business. What I want to know is, can you watch Mei Corporation fall?”

    “Why not?”

Before Xu Shaochen could reply, a strong voice rang out.

Both Jiang Yaohai and Xu Shaochen turned to see Mei Liangxin walking over, unfazed.

“Mei Corporation once wasn’t mine. Xu Shaochen gave it to me. So why can’t I watch it fall?”

Mei Liangxin’s tone was calm, as if discussing something unrelated to him.

As he spoke, he approached the two, looking at Jiang Yaohai and said clearly, “Using my interests to threaten Xu Shaochen, I won’t allow it.”

He initially planned to have supper with Xu Shaochen, but after knocking with no response, he went to the restaurant alone for a snack.

Unexpectedly, he overheard this conversation and was furious.

“Hahaha, Mei Liangxin, you never disappoint me. If Mei Corporation falls, so be it. I’ll rebuild it for you!”

Xu Shaochen laughed, then threw the document at Jiang Yaohai: “Take your garbage and get lost. Si Mingfei must die. The Si Family can be erased from Songshan.”

Jiang Yaohai’s face turned a mix of colors as he gritted his teeth and asked, “Young Master Xu, is there really no room for discussion?”

Without this chance, he’d never encounter such a meteoric opportunity again.

    “Slap!”

Xu Shaochen rose, slapped Jiang Yaohai, and spoke icily, “It seems you still don’t know me. I’ve never compromised with nobodies. If you oppose me, either you die or I die. There’s no third way, and no one can make me bow!”

Feeling the sting on his face, Jiang Yaohai was furious, but mostly terrified.

For it was his first time meeting someone like Xu Shaochen—wild, arrogant, inherently domineering, giving no room for concession.

“If so, let’s see who wins in the New City project.”

Jiang Yaohai forced himself to look composed, left the restaurant without looking back.

“Just a dog, you aren’t qualified to fight me.”

Xu Shaochen dismissed him disdainfully, as he had no intention of entangling with Jiang Yaohai over the New City project.

Just as he said earlier, Jiang Yaohai was merely a dog of those people.

Xu Shaochen would simply ignore this dog and confront his master.
