Chapter Index

Ma Chengwu still had a smile on his face: “It’s not that I’m not giving Tang Young Master’s respect, but it depends on what kind of respect it is.”

He couldn’t compare with Tang Siyu, and his family couldn’t match up to the Tang Family.

But the gap wasn’t so wide as to be exaggerated.

Moreover, having come here so aggressively to cause trouble on the opening day of Yuan Hua’s bar, and now leaving quietly like this, doesn’t Ma Chengwu care about his own face? Noticing how unyielding Ma Chengwu was, Tang Siyu became a bit irritated. But his relationship with Yuan Hua wasn’t strong enough to warrant falling out with Ma Chengwu over it.

So now he was stuck in a difficult situation, feeling like he was being roasted over a fire.

Seeing Xu Shaochen watching this unfold with a smirk, Tang Siyu grew more frustrated. Then, his eyes lit up as he looked at Yuan Hua and said:

“Yuan Hua, whether your bar’s first night of business goes smoothly might depend on this Young Master Xu beside me.”

You want to just watch for fun? I might as well toss you right into the mix. We’re all brothers, no need for thanks.

Xu Shaochen was taken aback, not expecting Tang Siyu to push him into the situation like this. He looked at Yuan Hua and half-jokingly said: “Buy me a good bottle of alcohol, and I’ll help you solve this tonight. How about that?”

This small matter was hardly an effort for him. Since he was here enjoying Yuan Hua’s hospitality, he might as well help out.

Yuan Hua glanced at Xu Shaochen but ignored him. He anxiously said to Tang Siyu, “Tang Young Master, please don’t joke around. You can’t just stand by and watch me get into trouble.”

He didn’t take Tang Siyu’s words seriously, thinking Tang Siyu was just trying to deflect responsibility.

Besides, he didn’t take Xu Shaochen seriously either. To him, Xu Shaochen was just Huang Wenqiang’s gofer. How could he solve anything? That’s ridiculous.

Seeing this, Xu Shaochen chuckled self-deprecatingly. Damn, he thought to himself, I’m being totally ignored here.

Huang Wenqiang looked at Yuan Hua with a mocking smile. “You’re a fool who can’t even seize an opportunity when it’s handed to you.”

“I never joke around,” Tang Siyu said calmly.

Seeing that Tang Siyu was really going to stand by and do nothing, Yuan Hua became angry. “Tang Young Master, have I ever wronged you? You won’t help me with such a small favor? Even if you don’t want to help, at least don’t use such a ridiculous excuse to refuse!”

With that, Yuan Hua sneered and pointed at Xu Shaochen with disdain. “He can help me settle this? Tang Young Master, do you even believe what you’re saying?”

“Don’t believe it? Then get lost!” Tang Siyu’s face darkened. He had given Yuan Hua a way out, but Yuan Hua insisted on walking down a dead-end path. Tang Siyu felt he had already been kind enough.

Realizing he’d just acted out of anger, Yuan Hua stood there with an uncertain expression.

Ma Chengwu looked on gleefully and said, “Brother Yuan, why don’t you bring us a few good bottles of alcohol? If it’s less than a million per bottle, don’t bother bringing it out to embarrass yourself.”

“You…” Yuan Hua was furious. This was clearly picking a fight. What kind of bar sells alcohol at that price? Ma Chengwu’s smile grew wider. “Don’t have any? Then why are you even running this bar? A bar that doesn’t sell alcohol? Isn’t that just false advertising?”

    Bang!

As he finished speaking, Ma Chengwu kicked the sofa and ordered the people behind him, “Claim a booth for each person. Tonight it’s on me. If there aren’t enough booths, kick people out to make room.”

Including his bodyguards, they would take up about a dozen booths. Yuan Hua might as well close the bar for the night.

Ma Chengwu, you’re going too far!” Yuan Hua growled through gritted teeth.

Ma Chengwu sneered: “So what if I am? Beat me up! If you touch me, I’ll destroy your little bar.”

By now, the music in the bar had already been shut off, and everyone was watching the scene from a distance.

    “Brother Shaochen,”

A clear voice rang out, drawing everyone’s attention. Mei Liangying walked over, wearing her high heels.

    Hiss—

When everyone saw Mei Liangying, they collectively gasped.

Such a stunning beauty, coming to a bar to drink? For a moment, they felt as if a goddess had descended to the mortal world.

Ma Chengwu’s eyes also lit up. He reached out to stop Mei Liangying, saying, “Miss, how about sharing a drink with me? I’m well-versed in arts, literature, and everything in between.”

Since he was here to make trouble tonight, Ma Chengwu wasn’t concerned about a single thing. Snatching a seat, flirting with women, smashing things—he would do whatever pleased him.

As long as he was having fun, Yuan Hua wouldn’t be.

Running into such a beauty was just an unexpected bonus.

Tang Siyu and Huang Wenqiang exchanged a look, then raised their glasses, silently mourning for Ma Chengwu in advance.

Xu Shaochen looked coldly at Ma Chengwu, who had his back to him, and said softly, “Bring him here. I want to have a talk with him.”

Long Yi, who was standing behind him, nodded and walked over to Ma Chengwu.

“Get out of my way.” Mei Liangying’s eyes flashed with disgust as she coldly declined.

Ma Chengwu smirked wickedly. “Beautiful, no need to be so angry…”

    Bang!

Before he could finish his sentence, a beer bottle smashed over his head, instantly breaking and causing blood to flow down.

    Ah!

Ma Chengwu screamed. As he turned around, Long Yi grabbed his hair and forcibly dragged him to Xu Shaochen, slamming his head onto the table.

    Woah!

Everyone was shocked by this sudden outburst. It was too violent, too bloody.

Yuan Hua was also stunned as he looked at Xu Shaochen. Was he crazy? How dare he treat Ma Chengwu like this?

    And… were those bodyguards his?

“What are you doing? Let go of Young Master Ma!”

Ma Chengwu’s group of friends and bodyguards finally reacted, glaring furiously at Xu Shaochen.

The bodyguards scattered throughout the bar quickly regrouped and surrounded Ma Chengwu’s people.

“Screw you! Think you’re tough just because you have more people?”

Ma Chengwu’s friends shouted, and the rest of the group, holding beer bottles, looked ready to pounce on Long Yi and his crew.

“Quiet them down. They’re too noisy.”

Xu Shaochen instructed calmly as he sipped his drink, not even looking up.

“If anyone disturbs my boss, I’ll shoot them dead.”

Long Er pulled a handgun from his jacket and spoke with a calm tone.

The group that had just been shouting fell silent instantly, their faces turning pale.

The other patrons in the bar stared blankly at the scene. Damn, it’s just a newly opened bar. Why does it feel like everyone here is a god?”

Yuan Hua was already in a daze. He suddenly recalled what Tang Siyu had told him earlier. It turns out Xu Shaochen was indeed someone not to be trifled with.

Reflecting on his earlier dismissive attitude towards Xu Shaochen, his face turned red with shame, feeling awkward standing there.

Xu Shaochen had even offered to solve the problem for just a bottle of good alcohol.

Yet, Yuan Hua had scorned his offer. Thinking back, it all seemed so absurd and laughable.

Even though no one was ridiculing him at that moment,

Yuan Hua still felt as though everyone was mocking him for not recognizing Xu Shaochen’s value. His face burned with embarrassment, and he no longer dared raise his head.
