Lin Kai glanced at Long Yi and the others behind Xu Shaochen and sneered with a look of disdain.

“Third Young Master Lin, I’m here to discuss something with you.” Xu Shaochen said slowly.

“I’m not interested.” Lin Kai shot back as soon as Xu Shaochen finished his sentence.

Lin Kai gave Xu Shaochen a deep look, then stepped aside: “Come in.”

“I heard you don’t get along well with your brother-in-law.”

Xu Shaochen walked into the room, speaking casually. Although he used the words ‘heard,’ his tone was one of certainty.

“Everyone in the world knows I don’t get along with him. What do you want? I don’t have the patience to beat around the bush.”

Lin Kai said impatiently as he sat down on the sofa.

Xu Shaochen chuckled softly, poured himself a glass of water, and slowly said, “Third Young Master Lin, you might not know this, but I have a bit of a grudge against your brother-in-law too. I might know more about him than you do.”

“You want me to help you deal with him? Are you kidding me? I dislike him for my own reasons, but why should I help an outsider like you take down my so-called brother-in-law?”

Lin Kai sneered at Xu Shaochen, his gaze full of mockery.

Xu Shaochen wasn’t angry and continued at his own pace: “Zhou Yun is very ambitious. I’ve heard he has a solid standing in the Lin Family. Third Young Master, do you think he could become the next head of the Lin Family?”

“Nonsense! Even if I’m not in line to be the heir, there’s still my elder brothers. Why would it be him, an outsider with a different surname?”

Xu Shaochen had hit the mark. The truth was, because Lin Kai was an incompetent and uneducated wastrel, Zhou Yun didn’t take him seriously.

While Zhou Yun might put on a respectful front before others, he wouldn’t even bother pretending in front of Lin Kai.

Lin Kai frowned: “They won’t tell me.”

“They will, because you don’t know the situation. Plus, after your conflict with me last night, they’d want to make sure you don’t accidentally mess up their plans. So, they will tell you.”
