Chapter Index

“Okay, it’s fine now. Why didn’t you call me?”

Xu Shaochen gently patted Du Ruyan’s back, comforting her.

“I… I forgot,” Du Ruyan said, sounding aggrieved.

After learning that her father had an illegitimate child outside, she was completely stunned and her mind went blank.

How could she have remembered to call Xu Shaochen?

“Brother Shaochen, I don’t want the company anymore,” Du Ruyan suddenly said.

Her father and older brother had just passed away, and those distant relatives were eyeing the family’s assets, leaving her exhausted.

Recently, she had been learning how to manage the company, only to realize she had no talent for it. She didn’t understand it at all.

And now, the appearance of an illegitimate child vying for the family inheritance had become the last straw that broke her.

If there were no company, there wouldn’t be all these problems.

Xu Shaochen was taken aback: “You silly girl, you can’t be serious about giving up the company! Are you kidding?”

“No, I want to give the company to you.” Du Ruyan said with a serious expression as she looked at Xu Shaochen.

Apart from Xu Shaochen, there was no one else she could trust right now.

Xu Shaochen shook his head: “No way. This isn’t a small sum of money. You can’t be so reckless.”

“I don’t know how to run the company, and it’s too exhausting. I don’t like it,” Du Ruyan said pitifully, holding Xu Shaochen’s hand tightly.

After a long while, Xu Shaochen nodded: “I won’t take it as a gift. How about I buy part of the shares from you and become the majority shareholder? Then I’ll find someone to manage it.”

“I have seventy percent of the shares, which is already a controlling stake. You decide the terms,” Du Ruyan said casually. If Xu Shaochen hadn’t insisted on buying them, she would have just given him the shares.

Xu Shaochen nodded: “Half is fine. I’ll have someone evaluate it, and you can keep half. Together, we’ll still have control.”

To fully control a company, you need to hold 61 percent of the shares, not 51 percent.

Xu Shaochen stayed with Du Ruyan until nightfall.

“Let’s go out for dinner. I have something to do tonight,”

said Xu Shaochen, glancing at his watch.

Du Ruyan nodded: “I’ll go change my clothes. Let’s also invite Sister Weiwei, Sister Sixian, and Sister Qingyu.”

Xu Shaochen was stunned. He could understand her knowing Xie Wei, but how did she also know Zhou Sixian and Zhao Qingyu? Sigh, if only Mei Liangying and Liu Rushuang were so accommodating, then I wouldn’t be running around all day.

That night, Xu Shaochen took four women out for dinner, attracting lots of attention along the way.

It’s hard to say how many bystanders cursed Xu Shaochen a million times in their hearts.

After dinner, under Xie Wei’s persuasion, Zhao Qingyu and Zhou Sixian agreed, blushing, to stay overnight at Du Ruyan’s place.

As for what might happen with all of them staying at Du Ruyan’s place, well, everyone had a pretty good idea. Xu Shaochen hit the jackpot.

    ……………

While Xu Shaochen was enjoying himself.

    Outside Songshan Airport.

Five people exited the airport, one of them was Ye Tao, with the other four being Li Taijin’s men.

There were a total of ten people who came to Longguo this time.

For safety reasons, they split into two teams. Four of them, with Ye Tao, took a flight to Jiangzhou first. The remaining six were driving with weapons via the highway.

“So, how do you find Jiangzhou? It’s even more prosperous than Songshan. Compared to where you’re from, it’s like night and day, isn’t it?”

Ye Tao showed no signs of feeling like a captive as he walked out of the airport. Seeing the others looking around, he teased them.

“Shut up! Keep talking and I’ll cut off your tongue.”

The leader, a young man who had twice used a gun to hit Ye Tao in Songshan, gave him a cold warning.

Of course, internally, he agreed with Ye Tao’s words.

Vietnam itself was poor, and they lived in deep mountains and forests, where conditions were even worse.

But after coming to Longguo, everything had been an eye-opener. He felt he might not be able to resist temptation.

Compared to Vietnam, this place was heaven.

“Heh, you’ve said that several times now, and my tongue is still fine.”

As Ye Tao spoke, he casually glanced backward.

In the crowd behind them, a slightly overweight middle-aged man wearing a baseball cap blended in, looking very ordinary.

This man was none other than Gu Jun. Throughout the journey, Ye Tao couldn’t send any information, so Gu Jun had been texting Xu Shaochen.

The Vietnamese men were too busy looking around, especially at the neon lights of Jiangzhou at night, which dazzled them.

They didn’t pay attention to the fact that many people were quietly closing in on them, forming a surround.

“Young Master Ye, Young Master Xu sent us to pick you up and these international friends.”

Long Yi and Long Er walked up to Ye Tao, smiling as they spoke.

The faces of the four Vietnamese men changed drastically. They tried to back away while holding onto Ye Tao, but realized their retreat had been blocked.

“Alright, quit resisting. You don’t even have weapons now, so what are you struggling for?”

Ye Tao broke free from one of their grips, smiling as he stretched his stiff neck and shoulders. His eyes turned cold.

    “Slap!”

In the next second, he turned around and slapped the captain’s face, gritting his teeth as he said:

“Damn it! How dare you hit me with a gun? Who do you think you are? Screw you!”

The remaining three Vietnamese men were instantly furious when they saw this. They were about to act when they felt something pressing against their waists.

Their rich experience told them it was a gun, making them too afraid to move.

    “Bang!”

Ye Tao lifted his foot and kicked the captain, knocking him back a step. Then he gave him a left hook to the face.

    “Hey! What are you doing?!”

Two police officers approached from a distance.

“Screw you! You’re the first person to hit me with a gun. You should feel honored.”

Ye Tao stopped when he saw the officers, pointing at the captain’s nose as he spoke.

Long Yi stepped forward and exchanged a few words with the officers, while Long Er took the opportunity to load the men into the car and take them away.

“Brother, I need to see Young Master Xu. There are ten of them, but six men are still missing.”

In the car, Ye Tao said to Long Er.

The four of them didn’t have weapons because they traveled by plane, but the six who were still at large were armed and dangerous. They were the real threat.

“When we reach the place, Young Master Xu will come to see you.”

Long Er said calmly. Long San had just mentioned that the boss had dinner plans with four women tonight.

What might happen after dinner was obvious.

So, at this time, he didn’t dare call to bother him.

Better wait for Long Yi to come back first, then push him to make the call.
