“I said, step on the gas!” Xu Shaochen frowned and emphasized.

Mei Liangxin clenched his fist and said resolutely, “I will! I’ve never driven this kind of car, but I’ll do my best!”

“Idiot! I meant hit the accelerator. Step on the gas!” Xu Shaochen cursed angrily. This guy must be a fool sent by the monkeys.

“………” Mei Liangxin’s smile froze, a thousand horses galloping through his mind.

After a while, Mei Liangxin finally managed to get the car moving.

“You don’t have a driver’s license, do you!” Xu Shaochen felt parched, wiping the sweat off his forehead as he asked, his body tensing up uncontrollably.

Mei Liangxin chuckled nonchalantly, “No worries, I’m not scared.”

“See that person? Go hit her.” Xu Shaochen pointed to a woman not far ahead.

The car started again, this time with Xu Shaochen in control. He finally felt like his life was back in his hands.

“You were looking for me for something, right?” Xu Shaochen turned the steering wheel fully, making a turn at the intersection towards a BBQ restaurant near the school.

Mei Liangxin nodded: “I want to discuss a business deal with you.”

“You?” Xu Shaochen looked skeptical. A guy who’s fallen to the point of selling newspapers late at night, what kind of business could he possibly have with me?

Sensing Xu Shaochen’s doubt, Mei Liangxin felt personally insulted and righteously said, “Don’t look at me like that. You can question me as a person, but don’t doubt my integrity… unless you’re offering more money.”

“Don’t worry, I wouldn’t question your integrity. I’ve figured it out—you simply don’t have any integrity. So, what kind of business are you talking about? I don’t have time to waste with you.” Xu Shaochen rolled his eyes and spoke through a forced smile.

Mei Liangxin hesitated for a moment before saying: “It’s a piece of information, a very important piece. I learned about it accidentally. With the right moves, we could make a lot of money.”

“Oh? Then why are you asking me to partner with you? Wouldn’t it be more satisfying to do it yourself?” Xu Shaochen asked with a light smile.

Mei Liangxin rolled his eyes in exasperation: “If I had money, would I be reduced to selling newspapers late at night?”

Over ten minutes later, the car stopped in front of a BBQ restaurant near the university town.

“Uncle Li, business is good today!”

Xu Shaochen got out of the car, smiling and greeting the shirtless, busy middle-aged man at the entrance.

“Ah, Xiao Xu, you’re here! I was wondering why you hadn’t come for work lately. You’ve upgraded to driving a Mercedes? Come on, have a seat; tonight’s on me.”

Li Defu grabbed a towel and wiped the sweat off, looking at Xu Shaochen warmly.

Xu Shaochen used to work part-time here often, so the two had a fairly good relationship.
