Chapter Index

    “Do it.”

Long Er coldly uttered two words.

There were no flashy battle tactics or unnecessary schemes because none of that was needed.

More than ten people charged at the Meng Family’s estate, unleashing their bullets like they were free.

If Long San and Long Si were here, Long Er might have organized a silent infiltration.

But the people who followed him to Rongyang City were just ordinary mercenaries, not the elite squad like him and Long Yi.

So, just one word: frontal attack.

    “Who are you?!”

    “Whizz!”

The sound of bullets leaving the chamber was minimized after the suppressors were attached.

The Meng Family’s bodyguards barely noticed something was wrong before the two guards at the entrance fell to the ground.

    “Bang! Bang!”

The Meng Family’s bodyguards started to return fire.

Initially, the Meng Family’s bodyguards weren’t usually armed with guns.

But tonight, Meng Chuan had a bad feeling, so he ordered all the bodyguards to be armed, each with a full magazine.

But how could these bodyguards be a match for these war machines fresh from the battlefield? From the start, it was destined to be a one-sided massacre.

When they heard the gunfire, both father and son inside the villa froze, then simultaneously rushed towards the back door.

But they just walked right into a trap at the back door.

“Brothers… don’t shoot. You want money, right? Name your price, I’ll pay whatever you want.”

Seeing the pitch-black muzzle of the guns, Meng Chuan and his son were drenched in cold sweat, trying to negotiate with these people.

But unfortunately, not a single person responded to him.

Moments later, Long Er walked into the villa, looked at the two, and coldly said,

“If the boss didn’t want to deal with you personally, I would have blown your brains out by now.”

    “Xu… Xu Shaochen.”

Seeing Long Er, Meng Chuan instantly knew whose men these were tonight.

He had seen Long Er when he went to Jiangzhou.

He felt Xu Shaochen had gone mad, actually bringing so many people with guns to launch an assault, killing ten people in one night.

And this was in the city center. This was definitely a big deal.

“Brother, you’re also working for Xu just for the money. Let us go, I’ll give you one billion.”

Meng Chuan wanted to buy his way out, placing great hopes on this idea.

“Knock them out and take them away.”

Long Er just gave him a cold glance.

Because this was beyond what money could measure. The two lying in the hospital were also his comrades.

Soon, Meng Chuan and his son were taken away by Long Er.

After more than ten minutes, the police took control of the scene.

The public was informed that it was a counter-terrorism exercise by the police.

    ………….

    Morning.

    Xu Shaochen opened his eyes.

He slid open his phone screen and saw good news.

It was a text from Long Er, saying they had driven through the night and brought the Meng father and son to Jiangzhou.

“Waking up to a surprise, huh?”

Xu Shaochen showed a cold smile, then got up, dressed, washed up, and ate breakfast at his usual unhurried pace.

It had been a long time since he personally killed anyone. Today, his hands suddenly itched.

He really wanted to see the scene when a bullet pierced through Meng Chuan’s head.

After finishing breakfast, he said goodbye to Linda.

Xu Shaochen arrived at the rooftop of an abandoned building.

The Meng father and son were there, shivering in the cold wind. Looking at the dozens of meters height below, their faces were pale.

They feared being thrown off at any moment.

“Dad, what should we do now? Think of something quick. I’m still young, I don’t want to die.”

Meng Yuan looked at Meng Chuan anxiously, his pants already soaked with urine.

“My two bodyguards were also young. They didn’t want to become crippled, either.”

A calm voice reached the two men’s ears.

They already guessed who the speaker was.

Turning around, they indeed saw Xu Shaochen walking over with a few bodyguards.

    “Xu… Chairman Xu, it’s a misunderstanding, all a misunderstanding.”

Meng Chuan struggled to swallow as he looked at Xu Shaochen. He was starting to regret his impulsive actions.

He had never expected that a figure like Xu Shaochen would go to such lengths just for two insignificant bodyguards.

What he didn’t know was that Xu Shaochen always valued those who were loyal to him.

“Misunderstanding? I’m not sure what you think is a misunderstanding.”

“Was it you going back on your word and not taking me seriously because you had Noah Entertainment backing you?”

“Or was it your son trying to hit on my woman?”

“Or perhaps it was you daring to hurt my men, leaving two of them crippled?”

Xu Shaochen’s voice was very calm, without much fluctuation. He had already walked up to the father and son.

“Xu… Chairman Xu, name your terms. I’ll agree to anything you say. Didn’t you want to acquire Shark Live? I agree, I agree.”

Xu Shaochen’s demeanor made Meng Chuan panic because those were the eyes of someone ready to kill.

    “Take this call first.”

Xu Shaochen put the phone to his ear.

“Mr. Meng, I’m sorry to inform you that our partnership is over. I regret this sincerely. Goodbye.”

    “Beep~ Beep~”

Meng Chuan stood there, holding the phone, dumbfounded.

The voice on the phone was one he knew well.

It was someone from Noah Entertainment, the people he was collaborating with, the ones he saw as his backers.

He never expected Noah Entertainment to go back on their word so suddenly, just like how he had backstabbed Xu Shaochen—clean and decisive.

But what scared him the most was Xu Shaochen’s show of power.

The people at Noah Entertainment had been so confident that they weren’t afraid of Xu Shaochen, but now they chickened out so quickly.

“I just wanted to tell you, the backer you thought was invincible isn’t even worth a fart to me. How dare you look down on me?”

Xu Shaochen looked at Meng Chuan and asked, enunciating each word clearly.

“No… no, Chairman Xu, please listen to me. I never looked down on you. I’ve always admired you and was willing to cooperate with you.”

Meng Chuan was in a panic, speaking in a disordered manner.

“Too bad, I don’t want to cooperate with you anymore. I despise people who don’t keep their word.”

Xu Shaochen rudely interrupted his words, then turned away and waved his hand.

A bodyguard respectfully stepped forward and handed him a handgun.

“No, Chairman Xu, no! Please, Chairman Xu, don’t!”

“Young Master Xu, please let me go! This has nothing to do with me!”

Meng Chuan and his son, both scared out of their wits, broke down in tears, their pride and dignity nowhere to be found.

    “You moved me.”

Xu Shaochen looked at the two and spoke, his lips curling into a mocking smile.

“Now I’ll give you a chance. One of you can leave here alive, but the other will stay forever. Choose.”
