Chapter Index

    Dajiang Cement Factory.

    Chairman’s Office.

“Dad, why should we be afraid of him? He’s just a small fry! Can he really cause such trouble?”

Chen Kaihe’s son, Chen Xinyang, was a lazy, incompetent manager at the factory. He already knew what his father was planning.

When he heard that the entire family had to go abroad to avoid Xu Shaochen, he was immediately enraged.

For him, in Jiangzhou he was a big shot. Wherever he went, people respectfully called him Young Master Chen.

But once abroad, he’d be nothing. Moreover, he felt it was a loss of face, disgraceful even.

Besides, he didn’t consider Xu Shaochen a threat and was very displeased with him. Every time he saw a post idolizing Xu Shaochen on the forums, he’d have to leave a disparaging comment.

Now, hearing that he had to flee the country because of Xu Shaochen, it was only natural he wasn’t happy.

“Enough with the nonsense! Hurry back and pack your things. You and your mother are leaving tonight.”

Chen Kaihe was far less confident than his son. Since he had decided to take a shot at Xu Shaochen, he needed to be fully prepared.

“I’m not going! Who does Xu Shaochen think he is?”

Chen Xinyang sneered in disdain and sat down on the desk.

    “Bang!”

At that moment, the office door was violently kicked open.

Long Yi and his men stormed into the room.

“Who the hell are you? Who let you in?!”

Already furious, Chen Xinyang was now burning with rage at the sight.

“I’m the guy you just insulted. My surname is Xu. If you like, you can call me Brother Chicken Dick.”

Xu Shaochen entered the office, looking at Chen Xinyang on the desk with an emotionless face.

    “Xu… Xu Shao… He didn’t mean it, really, he didn’t mean it…”,

Chen Kaihe’s face was full of flattery as he approached Xu Shaochen, pleading with him.

Even though he had decided to secretly stab Xu Shaochen in the back and run abroad, he showed no sign of it now.

    “Smack!”

Xu Shaochen raised his hand and slapped Chen Kaihe across the face, grabbing his hair and pulling him forward. He pointed at Chen Xinyang and said, “Look here, Chen Kaihe. You call this 200-pound lump of meat a child?”

“What the hell are you doing? Let go of my dad!”

Chen Xinyang jumped off the desk, pointed at Xu Shaochen’s nose, and shouted angrily.

    “Click!”

The next second, a handgun was pressed against his forehead.

Chen Xinyang immediately fell silent. Beads of sweat the size of peas rolled down his shiny forehead.

“Xu… Xu Shao, this has nothing to do with him. Let’s calm down. If you’re not satisfied with the shares, we can discuss it further.”

Chen Kaihe, his face twisted with fear as Xu Shaochen held him, forced a smile and pleaded.

Xu Shaochen ignored him, pushing the gun harder against Chen Xinyang’s forehead, looking at him with a calm expression.

“Come on, if I’m a chicken dick, then what are you? Think carefully before answering. If I don’t like your answer, my finger might tremble, and I could accidentally pull the trigger. Do you understand?”

Chen Xinyang shivered, his body fat trembling along with him. Despite his earlier bravado, now that Xu Shaochen was standing in front of him, he nearly pissed himself.

“Xu… Xu Shao, I have a foul mouth. If you’re a chicken dick, then I’m just a chicken dick hair, tightly united around Xu Shao.”

Chen Xinyang stammered as he spoke, his face full of flattery. There was none of the arrogance and brutality he had shown in front of his father.

A lot of people are only arrogant in front of their own father because they know their father won’t do anything to them.

But in front of other people, they act like a grandson because they know those people won’t indulge them.

“Chairman Chen, look at your son. He sure knows how to talk. He’s definitely yours, isn’t he?”

Xu Shaochen looked at Chen Kaihe with a grin, releasing his grip on his hair.

Chen Kaihe chuckled awkwardly twice, swallowing nervously, and carefully said, “Chairman Xu, I’m not sure what brings you here today, but if you need anything, just say the word.”

He spoke politely, but his heart was steeling itself.

Damn it, just wait until I pull some strings to report you to the capital. I’ll see if you dare to act so arrogantly then.

He’s just a punk who doesn’t know his place. I was out there struggling to make a living while he was still suckling at home!

“No rush, let’s sit down and talk.”

Xu Shaochen smiled, casually tossing the gun to Long Yi, and then walked over and sat behind the desk as if he owned the place.

Long Yi and Long Er quickly moved to his sides, standing on either side of him.

The other bodyguards positioned themselves in the corners of the room and by the door, occupying key locations.

Chen Kaihe and his son didn’t dare to sit down. They stood respectfully in front of Xu Shaochen, with just the desk separating them.

“Oh, organizing documents? Chairman Chen, are you planning on a long trip?”

Xu Shaochen casually picked up a neatly stacked pile of documents and flipped through them as he spoke without raising his head.

Though it seemed like a casual remark, it made Chen Kaihe’s eyelid twitch. He laughed dryly and said, “Just sorting through things, gathering important documents. No plans to go anywhere far.”

“That’s good. I thought the rumors were just nonsense. I even heard someone say you were planning to take your entire family abroad for a while…”

    “Thud.”

Before Xu Shaochen could finish his sentence, Chen Kaihe’s legs gave out, and he collapsed to the ground. His face turned pale, and his face was covered with cold sweat.

From the moment Xu Shaochen picked up the gun, he knew things weren’t simple.

But he didn’t expect that his plot would be exposed. There was only one possibility that came to mind—Zhang Zhongliang.

For a moment, he ground his teeth in hatred at Zhang Zhongliang, never imagining that the man would betray him. He wanted nothing more than to rip him apart.

“Oh, Chairman Chen, what happened? Why did you just collapse? You should take care of your health. Weak legs aren’t a good problem to have.”

Xu Shaochen displayed a look of surprise and concern as he spoke to Chen Kaihe.

Chen Xinyang, already trembling, was too scared to say a word, not even daring to reach out and help his father up.

“Xu… Chairman Xu, please let me explain. I did have some immature thoughts before, but I’ve now realized my mistake. I’m willing to make amends. I’m willing to make amends.”

Chen Kaihe wobbled as he stood up, forcing a stiff smile while looking at Xu Shaochen with pleading eyes.

He knew that if he couldn’t get through this, he really wouldn’t make it.

Previously, teaming up with Liu Xiong could still be seen as just trying to make money off Xu Shaochen.

But now, he had actually planned to shoot Xu Shaochen in the back. This was far more serious than money.
