Chapter 486: I Don’t Want to Wait Two Years

“Go, find out who he is.”

Though Xu Shaochen prided himself on being civilized, he didn’t want to use uncivilized methods.

But it’s always good to be cautious. This guy had already exposed his malice today, so at least Xu should understand the reason behind it.

There weren’t many people who held grudges against him. After all, those who did either ran away, died, or ended up in prison.

Lan Cheng returned to the hotel along with several bodyguards.

“Young Master, didn’t we alert the enemy tonight? How are we supposed to avenge the Second Young Master now?”

A bodyguard couldn’t suppress the curiosity in his heart.

Lan Cheng merely chuckled softly, “Alerted them? Maybe.”

He didn’t provide much explanation. After all, there was no need to explain to a servant.

His reason for doing this was simple.

He wanted to expose himself to Xu Shaochen.

He believed Xu Shaochen would quickly figure out his identity and then focus on his movements.

Unfortunately, Lan Cheng’s role was merely to divert Xu’s attention.

He had specially hired assassins from abroad at a high price. Once Xu Shaochen’s attention was entirely on him, Xu would die without a place to be buried.

At that time, with Xu keeping an eye on him, Lan Cheng wouldn’t be able to do anything against him even if he wanted to. Then, once Xu was dead, naturally no one would trace it back to him.

Lan Cheng did want revenge, but he wouldn’t sacrifice his future and destiny for Xu Shaochen.

Sitting at the dining table, Xu Shaochen looked at Linda, implying she should inform Jenny about it.

“Boss, is today April Fool’s Day?”

Linda smiled, absolutely not believing Xu Shaochen’s words.

There’s no way even 0.1% of Xu Corporation’s shares could be sold. Where did Xu manage to get that missing 4%?

“I traded something for it with Barron.”

Xu replied.

Linda’s hands holding the knife and fork paused as she looked at Xu Shaochen and asked, “Really?”

Xu Shaochen nodded with a slight smile.

“Boss, you… you’re truly amazing. Now, who could possibly stop you?”

Linda was instantly ecstatic and rushed over to give Xu several kisses.

“I don’t want to wait until two years later to inherit that position. Do you understand?”

Xu Shaochen’s eyes burned as he looked at Linda.

Linda nodded, “Boss, I understand.”

“I want you to persuade Jenny as soon as possible. Sometimes, you have to be flexible. I’m very grateful to my grandfather, but I believe that the living should not be held back by the deceased.”

Xu didn’t want to wait until after graduation to inherit the chairman’s position because the wait was too long.

Jenny was responsible for executing his grandfather’s will. If she relented, coupled with Barron’s support, Xu might even be able to inherit the position now.

“Boss, I should warn you in advance. President Jenny can be quite rigid at times. Be mentally prepared.”

Linda gave Xu a heads-up, knowing Jenny all too well from her past as Jenny’s secretary.

Confident and highly capable, but rigid in some issues, even to the point of being inflexible.

“You’re saying I should be mentally prepared to inherit the chairman’s position?” Xu looked at her with a slight smile.

Linda rolled her eyes. Xu was clearly pressuring her to convince Jenny.

“Darling, I trust you. Help me with this, and I’ll never let you down. You’ll always have a place in my heart.”

Xu kissed Linda on the cheek, then left the house.

“Damn it, whether you’re lying or not, I have to say I believe you.”

Linda touched her kissed cheek and murmured to herself, watching Xu leave.

“Boss, here’s the information on that person from last night.”

As Xu got into the car, Long San handed him a file.

Long Yi and Long Er had been assigned to Ye Tao by Xu today. They needed to go to Hong Kong together with Ye to create some early disturbances.

Unbelievably, Xu Corporation didn’t own any property in Hong Kong.

Linda had mentioned it before. It was a historical issue.

Xu’s grandfather disliked Hong Kong. Apparently, he had some unpleasant experience there.

Xu didn’t care about that. He only knew Hong Kong was a money-maker despite its size.

Opening the thin document, he saw Lan Cheng’s information.

“Keep an eye on him, but don’t take any rash actions.”

After reading, Xu calmly instructed.

One had to admit that Lan Cheng was impressive, at least in the business world. A young, yellow-skinned man setting up a company during his studies that was now about to go public was no small feat.

Yet, it was unfortunate they were destined not to be friends.

However, last night, Lan Cheng seemed a bit reckless, or perhaps brainless?

“Yes, Boss.”

Long San acknowledged.

“Chairman Xu.”

Upon arriving at the company, Xu had yet to enter his office when the secretary approached.

“Chairman Xu, Tianfeng Group’s top management is waiting for you in the office.”

“Hmm.”

Xu nodded and pushed open the door to enter.

“Chairman Xu.”

As soon as Xu Shaochen entered, everyone who had been sitting instantly stood up.

“Is there something you need?” Xu asked knowingly.

“Chairman Xu, what do you mean by this? It’s one thing to send that kid Ye Tao to be chairman, but now that he’s leaving, you’ve parachuted in another person. Can’t you promote someone from within the group?”

Where would internal promotions come from? Naturally, it would be among them.

“Yes, Chairman Xu. Over these years, we may not have contributed the most, but we’ve worked hard and endured fatigue. Don’t we deserve to be considered for the position?”

“Chairman Xu, if you keep doing this, you might as well just fire us all.”

The room was in an uproar as everyone expressed their dissatisfaction with Xu Shaochen’s decisions.

“Alright then, from now on, you’re all fired. Get out.”

Xu nodded, waved his hand, and said lightly.
