Chapter 499: All Women are Crazy

Morning.

Xu Shaochen opened his eyes and saw that Lin Wanxue was already dressed and doing her hair.

He had to admit, this woman was very beautiful, with an excellent figure. Most importantly, her temperament was something that no ordinary family could nurture.

Even if a woman’s appearance is average, a refined temperament can elevate her overall charm by at least three levels.

And when it comes to looks, Lin Wanxue was already outstanding.

“You’re awake.”

Lin Wanxue saw Xu Shaochen in the mirror, smiled sweetly, and suddenly threw herself into his arms, her face full of flirtation. This was completely different from the resistance she showed yesterday.

Xu Shaochen’s tone remained emotionless, as if discussing something unrelated to himself. He lightly stroked Lin Wanxue’s head with one hand.

Lin Wanxue lay on Xu Shaochen’s lap like a submissive puppy. She whispered softly, “Not only will you get me, but you’ll also get the entire Lin Family. From now on, I’ll be your toy alone. Whenever you miss me, I’ll come to you, no matter where you are. When you don’t, I’ll stay quietly in Hong Kong and help you run Lin Corporation.”

“Words are cheap. As my mom used to say, the prettier the woman, the bigger the liar.” Xu Shaochen said as he pressed Lin Wanxue’s head down again.

Lin Wanxue didn’t resist. She casually took her phone and started recording a video. After a moment, she looked up and handed the phone to Xu Shaochen. “Now do you believe me? If this video gets out, I’ll be ruined.”

“Your quick change of heart unsettles me.” Xu Shaochen spoke truthfully. He then transferred the video from her phone to his own without any hesitation.

This was the same woman who, just yesterday, had been willingly climbing into bed with him, all to help her brother.

But today, she had become like this, making Xu Shaochen unsure of what to make of the situation.

So, he needed to fully control her, using drastic measures if necessary.

After all, Xu Shaochen wasn’t a god. Just one night together wouldn’t make her hopelessly devoted to him.

Lin Wanxue let out a cold chuckle. “I had no choice. After marrying Zhou Yun, my older brother and second brother didn’t even see me as part of the Lin Family anymore. They think I’ve disgraced our family name.”

“Only Xiao Kai always comforted me, took care of me. I treated him with all my love, but it turns out this brother wasn’t any better—he fabricated lies just to use me.”

“In this world, your own brothers can stab you in the back. What can you trust? They’re all fighting for Lin Corporation. Fine, I’ll make sure they end up with nothing.”

This woman had been battered too much—her failed marriage becoming a laughingstock, and even her one trusted brother used her. It’s a wonder she isn’t already crazy.

“You’re getting a little extreme.” Xu Shaochen commented.

Lin Wanxue smiled charmingly, her delicate hand brushing against Xu Shaochen’s face. “Good brother, isn’t this the result you wanted?”

She wasn’t stupid.

“Call me brother.” Xu Shaochen replied calmly.

Without hesitation, Lin Wanxue changed her tone, her voice full of sweetness. “Good brother, you’ll help me with this little wish, right?”

“All women are crazy.” Xu Shaochen genuinely felt some fear seeing Lin Wanxue act like this.

He couldn’t imagine what would happen if Mei Liangying found out he was involved with so many women.

“Knock, knock, knock…”

Someone knocked on the door.

“Go answer it.”

Xu Shaochen spoke calmly and got out of bed to start dressing.

Lin Wanxue respectfully climbed out of bed, barefoot, to open the door.

Long San entered the room and said to Xu Shaochen, “Boss, I’ve completed the tasks you gave me.”

Lin Wanxue acted as if she didn’t hear their conversation. She walked to Xu Shaochen’s side and began to help him dress and straighten his clothes.

“Good. Get the car ready, we’re heading out soon.”

“Yes, Boss.”

Long San responded and then left the room without daring to give Lin Wanxue a second glance.

“Keep a good relationship with Lin Kai. Get back to work as soon as possible. And wear something pretty tonight. Wait for me at the hotel.”

After getting dressed, Xu Shaochen grabbed Lin Wanxue by the chin and said.

He knew that Lin Wanxue was the Human Resources Manager at Lin Corporation.

But after the incident with Zhou Yun and Zheng Bei, she hadn’t been to work and stayed at home.

Lin Wanxue kissed Xu Shaochen on the cheek. “I understand.”

“Don’t try to play any tricks on me, or I’ll make you wish you were dead.”

Xu Shaochen spoke lightly, biting her tender lips before turning to leave with a smile.

Lin Wanxue stared at his back, feeling a chill rise from within.

Xu Shaochen’s last words were delivered so calmly, as if in jest, but they frightened her deeply.

“By the way, as an elder sister, don’t forget to visit Lin Kai at the hospital.”

As Xu Shaochen reached the door, something flashed through his mind, and he added without turning back.

Zheng Bei had been beaten up. He certainly wouldn’t let Lin Kai off the hook. He had probably already taken action. After all, people like them care about face more than anything.

Grown-ups usually don’t get involved when kids fight. But what if one kid beats another so badly that they break an arm or a leg?

That’s when adults have to step in to settle the score for their children.

Lin Wanxue was confused. She didn’t understand why Xu Shaochen said that. Why would Lin Kai be in the hospital?

“Ringing… Ringing…”

Suddenly, her phone rang. It was an unfamiliar number.

“Hello, this is Lin Wanxue. How can I help you?”

Lin Wanxue’s voice was gentle. Even though she was so humble in front of Xu Shaochen, in the eyes of others, she was still the high and mighty, alluring eldest daughter of the Lin Family.

“Miss Lin, you should come to the hospital. Young Master Kai is seriously injured and unconscious. His hand has been broken, and he was just taken to the operating room.”

For a long moment, Lin Wanxue didn’t respond. Then she said, “Okay, I’ll be right there.”

After hanging up, she stood there in silence, lost in thought.
