“Xu Shaochen, are you there? Help me out! Brother Shaochen, Brother Chen, damn you! Are you really leaving?”

In the darkness of the night, Mei Liangxin’s voice echoed, sounding both loud and pitiful, full of despair.

The lights in the living room were still on, indicating that Linda hadn’t gone to bed yet.

Standing at the door, Xu Shaochen knocked.

Linda said in a sweet voice, then knelt down to help Xu Shaochen change his shoes.

Xu Shaochen found this to be an ordeal because everything was clearly visible when he looked down.

However, Linda deliberately moved slowly. Xu Shaochen tried hard to look away, but his eyes seemed to have a mind of their own and wouldn’t obey his commands.

Linda raised her pretty face and looked up at Xu Shaochen, blinking playfully. Her golden hair contrasted sharply with her smooth, creamy skin.

As Xu Shaochen turned and closed the door, he spoke to Linda.

“Boss, feel free to give any command. Your golden cat is willing to do anything for you.” Linda, like a serpent, wrapped herself around Xu Shaochen, leaning close to his ear as she spoke softly.

Xu Shaochen immediately picked her up and unceremoniously tossed her onto the sofa. “The Old City is about to undergo a demolition. Help verify the accuracy of this information and let me know tomorrow.”

“Boss, you have no heart! How can you be so rough with your golden cat?” Linda lay on the sofa, rubbing her slender waist and shooting Xu Shaochen a pitiful look.

Xu Shaochen felt a headache coming on—this woman really knew how to get on his nerves! He was well aware, though, that she was just teasing. If he actually made a move on her, serious consequences would follow.

“Stop flirting with me. Tomorrow is your first day at work. You should be thinking about how to keep things stable!” Xu Shaochen rolled his eyes.

Linda smiled confidently, “My dear boss, you might not know, but when I worked in the European branch, I was ranked first in sales among all branches globally.”

“I never would have guessed you’re a career woman.” Xu Shaochen said, surprised.

Linda flashed a charming smile and leaned against Xu Shaochen’s chest again, “What did you think, dear boss? Did you assume I got this position by using my looks?”

“Get some rest.”

Xu Shaochen pushed her away without hesitation and then headed upstairs.

At that moment, he wasn’t Xu Shaochen—he was Liu Xiahui, unmoved by tempting thoughts.
