Chapter Index

    Kaige Entertainment.

This is the company Lin Kai founded after returning to Hong Kong.

The company’s shares are split into three portions.

Lin Kai has 40%, Xu Shaochen has 30%, and the current General Manager owns the remaining 30%.

It seems that Lin Kai holds the majority, giving him absolute control over the company.

However, Lin Kai doesn’t know that the current General Manager is one of Xu Shaochen’s people. He thought Xu Shaochen found him through a headhunter.

Moreover, Lin Kai didn’t care about this because he didn’t think the company was important, so he didn’t pay it any mind.

Now, Xu Shaochen stood in front of Kaige Company’s entrance.

“Kaige Company, what a terrible name. I thought it was Chen Kaige’s company.”

Mei Liangxin glanced around, spouting nonsense.

    “Young Master Xu.”

Ye Tao, who had arrived two days earlier, approached with Long Yi and Long Er to greet Xu Shaochen.

    “How’s it going?”

Xu Shaochen asked after stepping out of the car.

Ye Tao nodded: “Everything is smooth in the company, but Zhao seems a little restless.”

The Zhao he mentioned was Zhao Shanhe, now the person in charge at Kaige Company.

    “Restless? That’s within expectations.”

Xu Shaochen smiled lightly. Zhao Shanhe wasn’t his man; he was someone he borrowed from Sun Hai.

After all, he needed someone urgently back then, so he got someone with decent skills to steer the ship.

Zhao Shanhe had previously been a Vice Manager at Sun Hai’s company.

In Sun Hai’s company, even though a Vice Manager is considered an executive, they’re just one among many and not particularly important.

After all, if he were truly valuable, Sun Hai wouldn’t have lent him to Xu Shaochen in the first place.

Now, having come to Hong Kong, holding shares and taking the helm at Kaige Company, it’s obvious Zhao doesn’t want to return to being an underling.

Greed for wealth will tempt anyone, and ambition clouds judgment. It’s no wonder Zhao became restless.

“Tomorrow, go to Lin Corporation’s HR Department and report to Lin Wanxue. Climb to the highest position you can as quickly as possible, using any means necessary.”

Xu Shaochen instructed Ye Tao. Lin Corporation is a real giant, even internationally recognized.

Xu Shaochen needed someone to counterbalance Lin Wanxue. After all, that woman is somewhat unhinged, and he couldn’t let her dominate the company.

    “Yes, Young Master Xu.”

Ye Tao was visibly excited, a hint of joy in his expression.

To put it bluntly, ten Ye Corporations couldn’t compare to a single Lin Corporation.

He could tell that Xu Shaochen was planning to let him root himself in Lin Corporation long-term, possibly even letting him take full control.

Don’t call him unambitious; Lin Corporation is just too significant. To him, joining Lin Corporation alone would bring honor to his ancestors.

Xu Shaochen didn’t say anything further and led the way into Kaige Company.

He didn’t ask why Zhao Shanhe hadn’t come out to greet him.

Ye Tao mentioned that Zhao was restless; it would be odd if he had come out.

Truly, when one seeks death, not even the King of Hell can stop them.

“Oh dear, Mr. Xu, my apologies, really, I was just discussing something with President Guo and couldn’t come out earlier. Please forgive me!”

Zhao Shanhe wore a remorseful expression and pointed to the middle-aged man beside him: “Mr. Xu, this is President Guo from the Guo Corporation.”

“Young Master Xu…” President Guo quickly extended his hand.

    “You can leave now.”

Xu Shaochen said lightly, showing no intent to shake hands.

President Guo’s smile froze. His outstretched hand lingered awkwardly in mid-air, unable to advance or retreat.

Xu Shaochen frowned slightly: “What, don’t you understand what I said?”

It was clear that this man had come to back up Zhao Shanhe. Xu Shaochen couldn’t be bothered to deal with such an insignificant figure.

“Young Master Xu, this is Hong Kong.” President Guo’s face alternated between white and green, almost grinding his teeth as he spoke.

    “Smack!”

Before he could finish, Mei Liangxin slapped him across the face: “If you hadn’t mentioned it, I would’ve thought this was Iraq. What are you going to do, carry a rocket launcher and blow us up? Who gave you the guts to talk like that?”

“Mr. Xu, please give me some face…” Zhao Shanhe’s eyelid twitched as he quickly tried to mediate.

Xu Shaochen shot him a cold glance: “Do you even have any face in front of me?”

Zhao Shanhe instantly fell silent. He was indeed quite afraid of Xu Shaochen; otherwise, he wouldn’t have dragged President Guo over to bolster his courage.

If this were Jiangzhou, he’d have been kneeling by now, calling Xu Shaochen ‘Dad.’

The only reason Zhao Shanhe was acting brave was because Xu Corporation had no power in Hong Kong.

“From today onward, Kaige has nothing to do with you. Hand over the shares, and you can leave. Don’t say I’ve mistreated you; I’ll even give you a million yuan as compensation.”

Xu Shaochen spoke calmly, without giving Zhao Shanhe any room to negotiate.

Zhao Shanhe’s face turned red: “Mr. Xu, isn’t this a bit too much?”

    “Call for a meeting.”

Xu Shaochen said lightly, walking directly into the elevator without sparing another glance at Zhao Shanhe.

Long San and Long Si dragged Zhao Shanhe out.

Ten minutes later, in the conference room.

The management of Kaige Company sat around the conference table, visibly nervous. Clearly, they were all aware of what had just happened in the lobby.

    “Who is the Vice President?”

    Xu Shaochen surveyed the room.

    “I… I am.”

A middle-aged man stood up nervously.

Xu Shaochen nodded: “Starting today, you’re promoted to General Manager.”

“Young Master Xu, I will never hesitate to give my all for the company.”

The middle-aged man was initially confused, but soon after, his face turned red with excitement.

“You will lead the meeting from here.”

Xu Shaochen patted him on the shoulder without telling him that he was only a temporary placeholder and would be replaced within a week.

This man wasn’t suitable for the General Manager position, and Xu Shaochen wouldn’t trust a stranger with such responsibility.

He was here today to deal with Zhao Shanhe; after that was settled, he would leave.

While Kaige Company might seem insignificant now, it would play a large role for him in the future.

Leaving the company, he got into the car.

Inside the car, Zhao Shanhe had already been beaten to a pulp, and Long San handed Xu Shaochen a signed share transfer agreement.

“Why bother? Wouldn’t it have been better to cooperate? The company never belonged to you, so what’s the point of being greedy?”

Xu Shaochen patted Zhao Shanhe on the face, his eyes filled with pity, sympathy, and coldness.

    “Mr. Xu, I… I’m Chairman Sun’s man.”

“Don’t worry about me. He won’t blame me.”

Xu Shaochen smiled faintly, then waved his hand: “Give him a million yuan and throw him out.”
