Chapter 506: Let Me Introduce Myself
by xennovel“Zheng…”
As Zheng Gaoxin approached, Jiangnan smiled and leaned forward, extending his hand.
However, before he could finish speaking, the smile on his face froze completely.
Zheng Gaoxin bypassed him entirely and walked swiftly to Xu Shaochen, saying, “Good evening, Mr. Xu.”
Jiangnan’s body stiffened, caught in an awkward dilemma, neither able to advance nor retreat.
Wow! Witnessing this scene, everyone gasped, staring at Xu Shaochen in disbelief.
What had they just seen? The same Zheng Gaoxin who had dared to challenge the Lin Family was now respectfully greeting Xu Shaochen.
If they hadn’t seen it with their own eyes, they never would have believed it.
“Right, what were you just saying? Ah, I remember: ‘The difference between people,’ wasn’t it?”
Xu Shaochen nodded and looked at Jiangnan with mockery in his eyes, as if gazing at a ridiculous clown seeking attention.
Jiangnan’s face turned blue and then pale, standing frozen like he had been slapped, a searing pain on his face.
Without looking back, he could still feel the mocking and amused gazes of the others on him.
However, his heart seethed with a mix of fear, rage, and humiliation. Dammit! Xu Shaochen was nothing but a gigolo, so why was Zheng Gaoxin treating him with such respect?
Lin Yao, on the other hand, wore a solemn expression. There was already tension between the Zheng Family and the Lin Family. If Zheng Gaoxin and Xu Shaochen joined forces, then the Lin Family would indeed find them a formidable opponent.
He didn’t yet know that Zheng Gaoxin had already allied with Xu Shaochen.
“If I recall correctly, you just mentioned I might be moving to the Hospital tonight, correct?”
Jiangnan remained silent as Xu Shaochen, one hand gently patting Jiangnan’s face, aggressively pressed him.
Jiangnan scowled, his face dark, filled with a mix of fear, anger, and shame.
“Not satisfied?”
Xu Shaochen chuckled, then looked around and said loudly, “Ladies and gentlemen, since this is our first meeting, let me introduce myself. I am Xu Shaochen, the Young Chairman of the Xu Corporation.”
As soon as he finished, there was a brief silence in the venue, as the crowd appeared to be slow in reacting.
“Hahahaha, that’s hilarious! Who do you think you are? Do you think everyone should know you?”
Seeing this reaction, Jiangnan couldn’t help laughing out loud, casting a mocking look at Xu Shaochen.
“Xu… Xu Shaochen, the Young Chairman of Xu Corporation!”
Suddenly, someone in the crowd screamed in shock.
“That Xu Corporation?”
“Which other Xu Corporation? The one headquartered in Mg Country.”
Boom!
The venue erupted in chaos as everyone stared at Xu Shaochen in stunned silence before surging forward like a tide.
“Mr. Xu, hello! I’m the Chairman of XXX. Here’s my business card.”
“Mr. Xu, welcome to Hong Kong…”
The entire venue instantly plunged into complete chaos.
“Impossible. This can’t be true; it’s impossible.”
Staring at the scene before him, Jiangnan muttered the same sentence over and over, his face growing paler and covered in cold sweat.
The Xu Corporation’s Young Chairman… What did that mean? It meant absolute power and influence. Crushing him would be as easy as crushing an ant.
And yet, he had been opposing such a powerful figure all this time…
Upon realizing this, a rush of blood surged through him, and he nearly fainted.
“Tell me, do you think I can take your life?”
Xu Shaochen asked Jiangnan, his tone serious and cold.
Thump!
Jiangnan didn’t say a word; he just dropped to his knees before Xu Shaochen and looked up at him. “Xu… Xu Shao! I didn’t know who I was dealing with. You can beat or scold me as you wish. Just spare my humble life. I beg you!”
With that, Jiangnan began furiously kowtowing to Xu Shaochen. His forehead soon became a bloody mess, but he seemed to feel nothing, mechanically repeating the motions.
Everyone had complex expressions as they watched this scene, feeling a twinge of sympathy for Jiangnan. After all, compared to Xu Shaochen, they were in the same league as Jiangnan—nothing but trash in Xu Shaochen’s eyes.
Seeing Jiangnan fall to such a wretched state stirred a sense of shared pity among them.
“Spare you? Sorry, my hand is a bit heavy; it can’t be lifted.”
Xu Shaochen looked down at Jiangnan, a mocking smile playing at his lips, his voice indifferent and cold.
“Xu Shao, please spare me! Xu Shao, I beg you! Please let me go! I’m begging you!”
Hearing these words, Jiangnan trembled with fear and wailed even louder, begging desperately.
Xu Shaochen ignored him, raising his wine glass and addressing Lin Yao, “Originally, I was here to share a drink. I nearly forgot what’s important. Come on, let’s drink together, Young Master Lin.”
“Sorry, I’ve had a bit too much to drink tonight. Maybe next time.”
Hiss—
The moment Lin Yao’s words fell, everyone sucked in a cold breath.
Was Lin Yao deliberately slighting Xu Shaochen? This gathering had only just begun, and Lin Yao was already claiming to be drunk. Such a flimsy excuse showed that he wasn’t taking Xu Shaochen seriously at all.
Xu Shaochen chuckled, “What if I say that you must drink this glass?”
“What if I refuse? Are you going to kill me? This is Hong Kong, Young Master Xu.” Lin Yao replied coldly.
Crash.
Xu Shaochen splashed the wine across Lin Yao’s face and smashed the glass on his head. “Ah!”
Lin Yao shrieked, clutching his head as he crouched down in pain, clearly not expecting Xu Shaochen to resort to violence out of nowhere.
“You’re the first person who ever dared to refuse my toast.”
Xu Shaochen said coldly. He had come here tonight to provoke Lin Yao, so naturally, he had no reservations.
“Xu Shaochen, don’t push me too far! Do you really believe I can’t keep you from leaving Hong Kong alive?”
Lin Yao growled through clenched teeth, seething with rage and wishing he could tear Xu Shaochen to pieces.
Xu Shaochen laughed at his words, squatting down to look Lin Yao in the eye with disdain. “If you really dared to come at me, I’d actually respect you as a man. But if you don’t, then just behave and be my lackey. Got it?”
Lin Yao glared at Xu Shaochen, silent, while blood mixed with wine dripped from his forehead to his chin.
His fists clenched so tightly that veins bulged out. He swore to himself that he would teach Xu Shaochen a lesson and show him that Hong Kong is Lin Family territory.
“Pathetic.”
Xu Shaochen spat out the words venomously, his eyes full of undisguised contempt. He was deliberately provoking Lin Yao, stirring up his desire for revenge.
“If you want to live, follow me.”
Xu Shaochen stood up, glancing at the kneeling Jiangnan before tossing out those words and walking out of the venue without looking back.
