Chapter Index

“Young Master He, this is my friend Xu Shaochen.”

Mei Liangxin introduced Xu Shaochen to a young man dressed in a white shirt.

“A friend of Liangxin is also my friend. Once we finish this bottle, we’ll be friends too.”

He Feng let out a belch and placed a bottle of alcohol in front of Xu Shaochen, speaking in a calm tone.

Mei Liangxin frowned slightly and emphasized, “Young Master He, this is my buddy.”

“Buddy?” He Feng was momentarily stunned, then nodded and stood up, raising a glass to Xu Shaochen. “Apologies, brother. Let this drink serve as my apology.”

As soon as he finished speaking, He Feng downed his drink in one go.

“No need to be so formal. I’ll drink with you.”

Xu Shaochen poured himself a glass, gestured towards him, and also drank it in one go.

    “Good!”

Everyone else cheered loudly and began clapping.

He Feng suddenly remembered something, took out his phone, looked at it, and then glanced at Xu Shaochen. He pursed his lips and asked, “Xu Shaochen, the Young Master of Xu Corporation?”

Xu Shaochen smiled faintly and nodded.

In an instant, everyone fell silent, staring at Xu Shaochen in shock. They quickly straightened up in their seats.

“Xu… Young Master Xu, I deeply apologize. Please, have a seat here.”

He Feng took a deep breath, quickly made space for Xu Shaochen, and even gave him the main seat.

Who is Xu Shaochen? Just last night, Lin Yao had fallen into his hands. He’s the real big shot around here; ten He Fengs wouldn’t compare to one Xu Shaochen.

“Yes, yes, Young Master Xu, please have a seat.”

    “Young Master Xu, please…”

Everyone immediately stood up, as if they wouldn’t dare sit down until Xu Shaochen did.

“Alright, no need to be so formal. I’m just out to have fun today. We’re all friends, so let’s be more relaxed. Sit, sit.”

Xu Shaochen looked at everyone with a smile, thinking to himself, ‘Sigh, I’ve really become a big shot who brings my own aura.’

This kind of feeling… it’s just… so damn satisfying.

In the past, he had to watch others’ expressions, but now, it’s others who have to watch his expressions.

At first, everyone was a bit tense. After all, even though they were somewhat wealthy, their status was nowhere near Xu Shaochen’s.

The disparity in status made them hesitant to speak freely, afraid of offending him somehow.

But after a few drinks, they realized Xu Shaochen didn’t put on airs, and they gradually loosened up.

“What are you standing there for? Go and keep Young Master Xu company. Make sure to serve him well, and your tips won’t be small.”

He Feng yelled at a few young women, instructing them to entertain Xu Shaochen.

“Young Master Xu, I toast to you.”

The two women exchanged glances, smiling as they leaned against Xu Shaochen, offering him drinks.

Both women were very attractive and dressed scantily, but when Xu Shaochen thought about how many men they had probably been with, he lost interest.

“Young Master Xu, there’s a gambling ship passing through Hong Kong on its way to international waters tonight. Want to check it out?”

He Feng leaned closer to Xu Shaochen and offered as he poured him another drink.

“Can you get an invitation?” Xu Shaochen asked. He had only seen gambling ships in movies and was interested in checking one out.

He Feng smiled, “Young Master Xu, with your status, getting an invitation is a piece of cake. I’ll get one for you.”

“Then thanks. Let’s exchange numbers and stay in touch for tonight.”

Xu Shaochen took out his phone and exchanged numbers with He Feng.

    “Cough, cough.”

Mei Liangxin coughed a few times, trying to remind everyone of his presence.

“Got a chicken feather stuck in your throat?” Xu Shaochen glanced at him.

    Mei Liangxin: “…”

“Xu Ge, get me an invitation too. I wouldn’t be at ease if you went alone.” Mei Liangxin said with a self-righteous tone, as if he was only thinking about Xu Shaochen’s safety.

Xu Shaochen looked at him with a smile. “No need for that. Long Yi and the others will be with me.”

“Turn off the music! Everyone, shut up!”

“Did you hear me? Turn off the music!”

At that moment, a series of arrogant voices rang out as seven or eight men entered, brandishing machetes and baseball bats.

    “Turn off the music.”

He Feng frowned and instructed someone to turn off the music, and the bar’s main lights were switched on, turning night into day.

“Chen Yaowei, what the hell are you up to!”

A young man next to He Feng slammed the table, glaring at the leader of the group across from him.

“The bar belongs to Ah Wu’s family. That Chen Yaowei has a grudge against Ah Wu’s family. They’ve been in competition for a while, and they clash from time to time.”

He Feng whispered to Xu Shaochen, explaining the situation.

Xu Shaochen nodded. He had already grasped who these people were.

Ah Wu’s full name is Song Wu. His family owns Golden Sunlight Entertainment Group. They rose to power during the black society era of the 80s and 90s, and now operate in a gray area between legality and illegality.

“What’s up? Song Wu, what do you mean by that? Do you think I brought all these guys here just to play games with you?”

Chen Yaowei sneered, kicking over a chair as he glared at Song Wu.

“Friend, today I have guests here. Could you show me some face?”

He Feng calmly said to Chen Yaowei.

    “Bang!”

    “Ah!”

Before he could finish, Chen Yaowei grabbed a wine bottle and smashed it. He Feng cried out in pain, clutching his head as he collapsed onto the sofa.

“Show you some face? Who the hell are you? If you know what’s good for you, you’ll all get out of here. Today, I’m only here for Song Wu.”

Chen Yaowei scanned the room, a smug grin on his face.

“Damn it, Chen Yaowei, do you know who he is?”

Song Wu’s expression changed. He quickly rushed over to help He Feng, “Young Master He, are you alright?”

“Go to hell, Song Wu. Kill him, and I’ll back you up.”

He Feng pushed Song Wu aside, clutching his head, and pointed at Chen Yaowei, gritting his teeth.

To put it bluntly, He didn’t think much of either Song Wu or Chen Yaowei.

In his eyes, these guys were just small-time thugs who couldn’t get anywhere near a big stage.

Having been struck by one of these small fries, there was no way he wouldn’t be furious.

    “Attack, kill Song Wu!”

Chen Yaowei shouted angrily, leading his men with a machete in hand.

    “Bang!”

A gunshot rang out, and Chen Yaowei and his group froze in place.

The ones who fired were Long Yi and Long Er. They stood behind Xu Shaochen, their eyes coldly fixed on Chen Yaowei.

If Chen Yaowei dared to make a move, they would pull the trigger without hesitation.

“Friend, we’re from the same road. It’s just a misunderstanding. I wasn’t targeting you today.”

Chen Yaowei could feel a cold sweat forming on his forehead. He looked at Xu Shaochen, pursed his lips, and forced a smile. His heart was in his throat, and his mouth went dry.

“Come here. Kneel down and crawl over to talk to me.”

Xu Shaochen said calmly, looking at Chen Yaowei.
