Chapter Index

“Friend, isn’t this going a bit too far? I’m also in the same business. How about showing some respect?”

Chen Yaowei’s expression flickered. If he knelt, how would he carry on in the future?

In this line of work, it’s all about face. Without face, what else is there?

“Do you think I’m chatting with you?”

Xu Shaochen asked lightly, sipping from his wine glass.

“Damn it, Boss! Let’s just fight! I don’t believe he dares to kill us!”

A lackey behind Chen Yaowei cursed angrily, brandishing a machete, glaring fiercely at Xu Shaochen.

    “Heh, Long Yi, shoot him.”

Xu Shaochen smiled, casually spitting out two words.

    “Bang!”

    Long Yi pulled the trigger.

    “Ah!”

The young man who had just spoken was struck in the knee, a burst of blood exploding as he screamed and fell to the ground.

    “Anyone else want to try?”

    Xu Shaochen asked.

The lackeys behind Chen Yaowei involuntarily stepped back, their faces pale.

Holding a gun is one thing. Firing it is another. But to actually dare to shoot at someone is something else entirely.

“I’ll say it again: kneel, crawl over, and talk to me.”

Xu Shaochen said, looking at Chen Yaowei.

Chen Yaowei swallowed, then slowly knelt down and began crawling towards Xu Shaochen.

“Come, lift your head. What do you want to say? Say it now.”

Xu Shaochen said, looking at Chen Yaowei.

Chen Yaowei’s face was pale: “B-Big Brother… I was wrong. I was blind and didn’t know you were here. Please, give me a way out.”

“After today, don’t cause trouble at Golden Sun Entertainment again. Can you do that?”

Xu Shaochen asked, bending slightly and patting Chen Yaowei’s face.

“This… I can’t make that decision, Big Brother. I’m just following orders from above.”

Chen Yaowei gave a bitter smile that was worse than crying.

“It’s okay. Go back and tell your boss that I’m protecting Golden Sun Entertainment.”

“Oh, and my last name is Xu. The one even the Lin Family keeps their distance from. That Xu.”

As Xu Shaochen’s words fell, Chen Yaowei’s face instantly changed, trembling as he said, “Xu… Xu Shaochen.”

With the viral spread of that video, the name Xu Shaochen had become well-known in Hong Kong.

“If there’s no other Xu Shaochen, then it must be me.”

Xu Shaochen smiled slightly, leaning back into the sofa.

    “Understood, Young Master Xu.”

    Chen Yaowei nodded.

    “Get lost.”

Xu Shaochen waved his hand, as if shooing away a fly.

Chen Yaowei got up and ran off with his men, in a panic.

“Young Master Xu, I won’t ever forget your great kindness. If you ever need help, I, Song Wu, am willing to go through fire and water for you!”

Song Wu walked up to Xu Shaochen and bowed deeply, speaking with determination.

    “It was nothing.”

Xu Shaochen didn’t take it seriously at all. He didn’t think he would ever need Song Wu.

Song Wu didn’t say anything further, just returned to his seat. As long as he had clarity in his heart, that was enough.

Over an hour later, Xu Shaochen and his group left the bar.

Outside the bar, a row of luxury cars was parked, and a group of men in suits surrounded the bodyguards.

Chen Yaowei, who had left earlier, was kneeling on the ground.

Seeing this, He Feng and Song Wu’s expressions changed. Mei Liangxin had a carefree look, while Xu Shaochen remained expressionless.

“Young Master Xu, let me introduce myself. I’m Zhao Zhicheng. Chen Yaowei is one of my underlings.”

A middle-aged man in a suit stepped out of the car, looking at Xu Shaochen calmly.

“So what? Are you here to show me who’s boss?”

Xu Shaochen smiled slightly, tilting his head as he looked at Zhao Zhicheng.

“No, no, Young Master Xu, you’ve misunderstood. Someone like you, who even the Lin Family avoids, how would I dare try to show you up?”

Zhao Zhicheng replied mockingly, clearly here to cause trouble.

    “Then scram.”

Xu Shaochen coldly spat out two words.

“No need to rush, Young Master Xu. This fool, Chen Yaowei, actually dared to offend you. He must be taught a lesson. Young Master Xu, what do you think about breaking one of his hands?”

Zhao Zhicheng kicked Chen Yaowei and said with a smile, looking at Xu Shaochen.

“Young Master Xu… save me! Please save me, Young Master Xu!”

Chen Yaowei desperately clung to Xu Shaochen’s leg, kowtowing and begging for mercy, crying pitifully.

“Damn it, how dare you bother Young Master Xu? Someone, break his hand!”

Zhao Zhicheng kicked Chen Yaowei away and waved his hand. Two men with baseball bats stepped forward, one reaching for Chen Yaowei’s hand.

“Enough! Are you trying to scare me?”

Xu Shaochen shouted angrily, glaring at Zhao Zhicheng coldly, as if looking at a dead man.

What Zhao Zhicheng was doing was clearly an attempt to intimidate Xu Shaochen, giving him a hard time.

In Jiangzhou, when did anyone dare to do such a thing? This Zhao Zhicheng was asking for death.

“Young Master Xu, don’t get me wrong. When did I ever try to scare you? I’m helping you vent your anger. This blind dog dared to offend you. Shouldn’t he be punished?”

Zhao Zhicheng took two steps back, showing an exaggerated expression. He bent down and yanked Chen Yaowei up: “Tell me, shouldn’t you die for offending Young Master Xu? Shouldn’t you?”

“I… I…” Chen Yaowei cried, too scared to speak.

    “Smack!”

Zhao Zhicheng slapped Chen Yaowei’s face: “Not answering? Are you dissatisfied? I’m talking to you! Are you dissatisfied?”

    “Smack!”

A crisp sound followed in the next second. Zhao Zhicheng’s face turned red with several clear fingerprints.

“You’re the first person who dares be so arrogant in front of me. If you’re not kneeling before me by tomorrow night, I, Xu Shaochen, will never set foot in Hong Kong again.”

Xu Shaochen said clearly, pushing Zhao Zhicheng away before walking towards his car parked by the roadside.

Zhao Zhicheng touched the spot on his face that had just been slapped by Xu Shaochen. Watching Xu Shaochen’s back, he chuckled:

“Young Master Xu, I acknowledge that you’re formidable, but I’m not afraid of losing. I think I have a bit of power myself. Let’s give it a shot, then. It would be an honor to go up against you.”

“Zhao Zhicheng, this means war between our families.”

Song Wu stepped in front of Zhao Zhicheng, saying coldly.

“Dear nephew, can you make decisions for Golden Sun Entertainment? You should go ask your father instead.”

Zhao Zhicheng glanced at Song Wu, a mocking smile on his face, dismissing him.

“Let’s just give it a try, then.”

Song Wu had now made up his mind to follow Xu Shaochen’s lead because he saw this as a rare opportunity.

In his eyes, Zhao Zhicheng was simply mad to dare provoke Xu Shaochen. He didn’t know what he was getting himself into.

He Feng chuckled and then walked away with his hands in his pockets, not even looking back as he said: “Zhao Zhicheng, you’re dead.”
