Chapter Index

    Over twenty minutes later.

    Feiyun Villa, Bamboo Garden.

    In the living room.

Long Yi and the other bodyguards stood by the walls, standing at attention.

Kong Tianjing sat across from Xu Shaochen, while his four bodyguards knelt nervously in the middle of the living room.

Xu Shaochen carefully brewed tea, as if he hadn’t noticed Kong Tianjing sitting before him. Due to a lack of recent practice, his technique was a bit rusty, but it still had a smooth flow to it.

Kong Tianjing, however, had no interest in appreciating Xu Shaochen’s tea artistry. His mind was in complete disarray.

As Xu Shaochen remained silent, the pressure on Kong Tianjing’s mind intensified with each passing second.

“Young Master Kong, some green tea.”

Xu Shaochen pushed a cup of tea towards Kong Tianjing, smiling slightly as he gestured for him to drink.

Looking down at the still steaming tea, Kong Tianjing had no desire to taste it and said, “Xu Shaochen…”

“Young Master Kong, please, have the tea first. You can taste my skills, and we can discuss business anytime.”

Xu Shaochen interrupted him and once again gestured for him to drink.

Kong Tianjing pursed his lips. Reluctantly, he picked up the teacup and took a sip.

He had no choice. The situation was stronger than the person, and when you find yourself under someone else’s roof, you must bow your head.

“Young Master Kong, how is it?” Xu Shaochen asked.

Kong Tianjing, preoccupied with other thoughts, hadn’t even tasted the tea and just nodded absentmindedly.

“Young Master Kong, as I recall, the first time we met, you wanted Bamboo Garden. Now, you’ve successfully sat on the sofa in Bamboo Garden. How does it feel?”

Xu Shaochen spoke as if he was chatting with an old friend, not mentioning anything about the Special Medicine.

But Kong Tianjing couldn’t hold out any longer and said through gritted teeth, “Xu Shaochen, stop beating around the bush! What exactly do you want? Just say it clearly, alright?”

“What I want isn’t clear enough? Hand it over, and you can safely live out the rest of your days.”

Xu Shaochen’s smile remained bright as he picked up his own teacup and savored it.

There’s something unique about tea that you brew yourself. Hmm… a bit bitter, I added too many leaves.

“Xu Shaochen, I know you’re the young director of the Xu Corporation. You have money, but have you thought about how long the Xu Corporation has been around? And how long has my Kong Family existed? Are you really going to fight us to the death?”

Kong Tianjing tried to use his family to pressure Xu Shaochen. It was the only thing he could do.

“Yes, the Kong Family is impressive, but I believe the Kong Family wouldn’t really want to fight with the Xu Corporation either. After all, I, Xu Shaochen, am not one to be trifled with. Don’t you think?”

    Xu Shaochen countered.

Kong Tianjing sneered, “That’s only because the stakes haven’t been high enough. The profit from the Special Medicine is something the Kong Family will never give up.”

“And I won’t give it up either. So if you won’t hand it over, fine, then we’ll just bury it together with you.”

As soon as Xu Shaochen’s words fell, he casually waved his hand. “Drag him to the backyard and bury him in the flower bed. It’ll make nice fertilizer.”

Long San and Long Si quickly stepped forward and dragged Kong Tianjing towards the backyard.

    “Young master!”

The four bodyguards kneeling on the floor were shocked, but as soon as they made the slightest movement, they were beaten down.

“Xu Shaochen! You’re just scaring me!”

Kong Tianjing struggled while glaring at Xu Shaochen, shouting through gritted teeth.

He didn’t believe it. He couldn’t believe Xu Shaochen would dare to kill him. He was, after all, a direct descendant of the Kong Family.

Xu Shaochen seemed to ignore him, paying no attention at all. He looked at the four kneeling bodyguards and said:

“A friendly word of advice: don’t act rashly. My bodyguards may not be very experienced with guns. An accidental misfire could have irreparable consequences. Got it?”

The four bodyguards turned pale and didn’t respond to Xu Shaochen.

“You’re all grown men, and you don’t even know how to say thank you? Long Yi, teach them.”

After finishing, Xu Shaochen closed his eyes for a brief nap, while in the backyard, Kong Tianjing’s curses continued endlessly.

Long Yi took off his coat and strode toward the four bodyguards.

    “Bang! Bang! Bang!”

The sound of fists striking flesh resonated throughout the living room, mixed with anguished cries.

“Ah! Stop! Please stop! Thank you! We will say thank you.”

    “Please, just stop! Ah! Ugh—”

“Thank you! Thanks! Please, no more.”

    “Alright, stop.”

Xu Shaochen ordered Long Yi to stop.

    Backyard.

Kong Tianjing had already been thrown into a pre-dug pit.

“Xu Shaochen, you don’t have the guts to kill me! You think I don’t know you’re just trying to scare me? Come on, try killing me if you dare!”

At this moment, Kong Tianjing’s heart was full of fear, but he still put on a fearless front.

    “Swish! Swish!”

Long San and Long Si, expressionless, began filling the pit with dirt.

Dirt, reeking of earth, fell into his mouth. Watching the dirt pile up over his body, Kong Tianjing finally started to panic.

“Xu Shaochen, you’re out of your mind! You’re asking for death!”

“Stop! You guys, stop right now! I’m from the Kong Family! How dare you kill me!”

“Brothers, stop! I was wrong! Take me to Xu Shaochen—no, take me to Young Master Xu! I’ll give it to him. I’m willing to hand it over! Please, stop!!!”

Kong Tianjing’s voice went from cursing bitterly to pleading desperately, all within a few minutes.

Long San and Long Si exchanged a glance and then pulled Kong Tianjing out of the pit.

“See, you could’ve just done this from the start. Now we’ve wasted all this effort shoveling dirt.”

Long San remarked indifferently, pushing Kong Tianjing back towards the living room.

    “Boss, this guy’s caved in.”

The two of them brought Kong Tianjing back to Xu Shaochen.

“Young Master Kong, speak up. The sooner you say it, the sooner this will end. What’s bad for me is bad for you too, right?”

The napping Xu Shaochen opened his eyes, and seeing the mud-smeared Kong Tianjing, he smiled brightly.

Kong Tianjing glared fiercely at Xu Shaochen, his eyes filled with resentment, anger, fear, and apprehension.

“What’s the matter, Young Master Kong? Are you playing with me? You only get one chance. Miss it, and the Grim Reaper might just come for you.”

Seeing that Kong Tianjing wasn’t speaking, Xu Shaochen’s smile gradually faded, replaced by a cold demeanor.

Kong Tianjing shuddered instinctively, pursed his lips, and said:

“The item…the item is on the chandelier at the Hotel. You can have someone pick it up.”

What damn Special Medicine formula? His life was nearly gone, what good would all that money do him?

All he wanted now was to survive. He had never felt death so close before.
