Xu Shaochen thought for a moment and then took out his phone, dialing a number.

“Hello, Director Liu? I need to report a situation. I suspect there’s a firearm hidden in a car. Evidence? Director Liu, isn’t my word enough evidence? Just have someone check, and you’ll see.”

“It’s a black BMW with the license plate xxxxxxx. The person inside has the surname Kong. Director Liu, you mustn’t go easy on someone hiding guns and endangering the public security of Jiangzhou!”

After hanging up, Xu Shaochen smiled, having given Kong Tianjing a small welcoming gift. He hoped Kong would like it.

Kong Tianjing didn’t think much of it and got out with his two bodyguards, figuring that such checks were common.

These kinds of inspections usually involved checking for drunk driving or verifying IDs, so he didn’t pay it much attention.

This time, the police officers ignored them and instead turned the entire car inside out.

The officer in charge slapped the cigarette out of his hand, reprimanding him with a cold tone.

“Captain, we found two handguns in the car, along with four fully loaded magazines.”

Moments later, an officer came over with evidence bags, reporting to the lead officer.

“Take them all back for investigation!”

The captain glanced at the guns inside the bags and gave the order with a wave of his hand.

“Brother, may I at least make a phone call first?” Kong Tianjing quickly asked.

“You’ll have plenty of time to make your call later. For now, shut your mouth.”

Kong Tianjing’s expression darkened. He was forcefully loaded into the police car.

Upon receiving confirmation that a gun had indeed been found in Kong Tianjing’s car, Xu Shaochen made another call to arrange things.

After arriving at the police station, Kong Tianjing and his two men were subjected to routine questioning.

Since two handguns and forty bullets were found, this classified as a serious crime.

During the interrogation, Kong Tianjing answered all questions with ‘I don’t know,’ refusing to cooperate.

However, his two bodyguards took full responsibility, claiming the guns were theirs and that Kong Tianjing knew nothing about them.

After the interrogation, Kong Tianjing was temporarily placed in the detention center, but they were put in separate cells.

Kong Tianjing’s cell only had eight others inside.

After entering, he gave the other inmates a disdainful look and then tried to sit on the bed.

But before he could sit down, someone kicked him to the ground.

“Newbie, do you even know the rules? Who said you could sit there? Get to the toilet!”

“Damn you!”

Kong Tianjing got up from the ground and cursed at the hefty inmate who kicked him.

“Say that one more time, I dare you!”

Immediately, the other inmates’ expressions changed, and they surrounded Kong Tianjing with menacing looks.

Kong Tianjing instantly turned pale, backing away nervously, stammering, “W-what do you want? I’m warning you—I’m the eldest son of the Kong family in Jingcheng!”

“Oh, so you’re some big shot? Well, we’re here to deal with someone like you.”

As soon as those words were said, the group pounced on Kong Tianjing, beating him senseless.

“Ah! My head! Stop hitting me! Please, I’m begging you, stop! Let me go!”

“Help! Somebody help me!”

Kong Tianjing, who once held sway over people outside, found himself powerless in the detention center, nearly beaten to death.

Someone finally said, and the others stopped.

“Ha! So much for being the eldest son of the Kong family. What a coward. Ptooey!”

“Mr. Xu said you were talking too loudly to him. He brought you here for some special training—to teach you how to speak to him properly in the future.”

Hearing this, Kong Tianjing realized this was all Xu Shaochen’s doing. His heart filled with rage, and he wished he could rip Xu Shaochen apart.

A skinny inmate kicked him in the face: “You scum! Are you thinking about getting even with Mr. Xu once you’re out?”

“No! No!” This time, Kong Tianjing wised up and humbly replied, forcing a smile, though he vowed in his heart to exact revenge on Xu Shaochen.

“Go clean the toilet.”

The skinny inmate kicked him again.

Kong Tianjing walked over to the urinal and hesitantly said, “There—there’s no tool to clean it with!”

“Then use your tongue! I’m going to take a nap. When I wake up, if that toilet isn’t spotless, you’ll regret it.”

The skinny inmate threatened him before turning to lie down on the bed, instantly falling asleep.

Looking at the grime-covered urinal, Kong Tianjing felt tears well up. He was on the verge of crying.

Nine women were bustling around, preparing an enormous feast with all kinds of delicacies—from those that swim to those that fly, and even creatures that crawl.

The dining table was long, with Xu Shaochen seated at the head and the women flanking both sides. Surrounded by this sea of flowers, Xu Shaochen looked every bit like a king.

“To celebrate our move into the new house, let’s raise our glasses.”

Xu Shaochen lifted his wine glass and said to the women.

“Cheers!”

The ten glasses clinked together, their reflections capturing the smiling faces of the group, as if time froze at this very moment.
