Chapter 602: Elopement with Mei Liangxin

The airport.

After a wait of more than ten minutes.

Xu Shaochen finally spotted Mei Liangxin in the crowd.

He looked a bit thinner than usual.

Beside him was a woman in a pink dress.

She looked about the same age as him, but shorter. Her face was delicate, and aside from her height, she was quite the beauty.

This must be the blind date partner Mei Liangxin mentioned over the Phone.

Mei Liangxin also noticed Xu Shaochen and waved at him.

“Long time no see.”

Xu Shaochen quickly walked over and gave Mei Liangxin a hug filled with fatherly affection.

“Let go of me quickly! My girlfriend is right here, she’ll get jealous.”

Mei Liangxin joked.

His girlfriend just smiled faintly upon hearing this and said nothing.

Xu Shaochen released Mei Liangxin and pointed at the woman: “Aren’t you going to introduce me to my future sister-in-law?”

Even though Mei Liangxin was older than him, Xu Shaochen was resolute in not admitting he was a younger brother. According to societal rules, the one with more money is the big brother.

Before Mei Liangxin could speak, the woman introduced herself first.

“Hello, Shaochen. My name is Liu Ying. I often hear Liangxin talking about you when we were in Xinyang.”

“Oh? What did he say about me?” Xu Shaochen asked with interest. It paid off raising this ungrateful son for over twenty years; at least he still had some filial piety and hadn’t forgotten him immediately after leaving.

“Ahem, Yingying, there’s no need to say all that,” Mei Liangxin coughed a few times, trying to change the subject.

But Xu Shaochen wasn’t going to let him get away with it. He turned to Liu Ying and said, “Go on, don’t listen to him. He’s just shy.”

“No, it’s not shyness. It’s fear,” Liu Ying teased, giving Mei Liangxin a playful glance before turning back to Xu Shaochen. “He said you’re a playboy who spreads seeds everywhere, and he warned me to stay far away from you. He even said you messed up his sister.”

Xu Shaochen’s face turned as black as soot. He glared at Mei Liangxin with ill intent: “Mei Liangxin, do you even have a conscience? Slandering my name like this!”

“Do you even have a reputation?” Mei Liangxin rolled his eyes and quickly changed the topic, “Let’s go. I’m starving. Have you made dining arrangements yet?”

“Let’s eat at my place. Your sister’s cooking personally to entertain your future sister-in-law. If I took you out to eat, she’d kill me.”

As Xu Shaochen spoke, he signaled with a glance to Long Yi, who then stepped forward to take the suitcases from Mei Liangxin and Liu Ying.

“Your trip to Xinyang was a success, huh? Not only did you slim down, but you also brought back such a gorgeous girlfriend.”

As they got in the Car, Xu Shaochen teased Mei Liangxin.

Mei Liangxin and Liu Ying exchanged a sweet smile, but Xu Shaochen noticed a hint of melancholy and helplessness in both their eyes.

During the last Phone call, Xu Shaochen had already sensed something off about Mei Liangxin.

Although he really wanted to know what had happened in Xinyang, since Liu Ying was around, he held back his curiosity for now.

“Wait a second, isn’t the driver going the wrong way? This direction is getting farther from your house.”

After driving for a while, Mei Liangxin finally realized something was off. He frowned and looked at Xu Shaochen.

“I moved. I’m taking you to recognize the place, so you won’t get lost when you come visit next time.”

Xu Shaochen said, patting his head with fatherly affection.

Mei Liangxin sighed: “My son’s grown up. He even bought a house to honor his dad.”

“Get lost!” Xu Shaochen smacked his hand down on Mei Liangxin’s head.

“Pfft-”

Liu Ying couldn’t help but laugh, “You two are really something.”

“Now that’s not right. If we were really something, you wouldn’t even be here.”

Xu Shaochen replied with a mischievous grin.

“Disgusting, get out of here.”

Mei Liangxin shuddered and distanced himself from Xu Shaochen.

Soon, the Car entered the Hua’e Mountain Villa Area.

When the Car arrived at the manor, both Mei Liangxin and Liu Ying were stunned, their mouths forming big O’s.

“So, how’s my new place?”

Xu Shaochen was quite satisfied with their expressions, giving him a sense of smug satisfaction.

“Amazing.”

Mei Liangxin looked around and gave Xu Shaochen a thumbs-up.

“Come on, let’s go inside.”

Xu Shaochen led them into the living room.

When Liu Ying saw the several women in the room, she was dumbfounded.

Mei Liangxin raised his eyebrows at her. See? Didn’t I tell you? This guy’s a real playboy.

Liu Ying didn’t know what to say, so she just nodded, dumbfounded. He really was a playboy.

But, a very capable one.

“Brother.”

Mei Liangying emerged from the kitchen, wearing an apron. Upon seeing Liu Ying, her eyes brightened: “This must be my sister-in-law. She’s beautiful, and her skin is so well cared for.”

“Not at all, you’re making me blush. You’re the real beauty here.”

Liu Ying’s modesty was sincere. She had always been confident in her looks,

but now, any random woman in the living room could outshine her, making her too shy to even speak loudly.

“Sister-in-law, you and my brother rest for a while. Lunch will be ready soon. I’m going back to the kitchen to help.”

Mei Liangying only came out to say hello before returning to the kitchen. After all, she was the main chef today.

After they finished lunch, Liu Ying became quite familiar with Liu Rushuang and the others. She was even curious enough to ask them about pregnancy.

Xu Shaochen took Mei Liangxin to a golf course in the backyard.

“Wow, you even have this much land out back? You’re living like an emperor here.”

As they stood in the summer breeze and looked over the endless green grass, Mei Liangxin couldn’t help but comment.

“So, tell me, what’s going on?”

Xu Shaochen asked, handing Mei Liangxin a golf club.

By their side, Long San was in charge of placing the balls.

“Whoosh!”

Mei Liangxin swung the club, hitting the golf ball hard, as if venting all his frustration through that swing.

“My original blind date wasn’t Yingying. It was her cousin. Yingying just tagged along with her.”

“In the end, her cousin wasn’t interested in me and left early. But unexpectedly, sparks flew between Yingying and me.”

“However, Yingying’s parents don’t approve of our relationship. They think I’m not good enough for her. Basically, they think I’m too poor.”

At this point, Mei Liangxin let out a self-mocking smile. A net worth of ten to twenty billion, and he was still considered poor. Yet, he had no confidence to refute them.

Because in comparison to the Liu family, whose assets reach into the hundreds of billions, he really was poor.

Xu Shaochen filled in the rest of the story: “So, you eloped with Liu Ying?”

Mei Liangxin nodded silently, hitting another golf ball with all his might.
