Chapter Index

    Due to the summer vacation,

Many students came to visit the zoo, so the line at the ticket booth was long.

There were about a dozen people in front of Xu Shaochen. As he took out his Phone to read the news, he waited for the people ahead to buy tickets.

Suddenly, water splashed onto his face.

Xu Shaochen frowned and looked to the side.

He saw a boy about seven or eight years old spraying water on him with a water gun. The boy’s mother was beside him, playing with her Phone.

“Hey kid, don’t point the water gun at people. Be a good boy.”

Although Xu Shaochen was irritated inside, he held it back since the boy was just a kid.

“Hehe, I’ll spray you! What can you do about it? Nyaa nyaa nyaa…”

The brat, after hearing this, increased the spraying, soaking Xu Shaochen’s face and clothes with more water.

“Hey! Lady, can you control your kid? He’s using the water gun to ruin my clothes.”

Xu Shaochen called out to the brat’s mother. If the kid wasn’t so young, he would have slapped him by now.

However, the woman only glanced at Xu Shaochen briefly before going back to playing on her Phone.

Seeing this, Xu Shaochen’s anger flared. He was now at his limit and gave the brat a warning.

“Hey kid! Put the water gun away, or I’ll have to teach you a lesson!”

    “Waaaah!”

Hearing this, the brat burst into tears.

“Baby, what happened? What’s wrong, baby?”

Seeing the boy cry, the woman’s expression instantly changed. Now glaring at Xu Shaochen, she snapped, “How can you, a grown man, pick on a child? Isn’t that shameful?!”

“Lady, you’re out of line. Your kid’s been spraying water on me, and I only scolded him a little. I didn’t even get that mad at him.”

Xu Shaochen’s face darkened. It was clearly the brat’s fault, but the mother wasn’t disciplining him. Instead, she was twisting the whole situation.

“He’s just a kid, only nine years old! He doesn’t know any better. And acting like your clothes are worth a fortune—how much are they? I’ll pay you! What’s the big deal?”

The woman shot back with a mocking tone.

The others in line frowned upon hearing her words, disgust clear on their faces.

Like mother, like son. No wonder her son acts like that—he’s been spoiled into it.

“Fine. Sure, my clothes aren’t expensive. They just cost over fifty thousand dollars. You paying me back?”

Xu Shaochen replied coldly. If talking nicely didn’t work, it seemed he needed to try a different approach.

Hearing this, the woman’s face turned pale, and she shrieked, “A cheap shirt costing fifty grand? You must be out of your mind! I bet you deliberately got close to my son so you could scam us for money! How can a young man like you be so crooked?!”

    “What’s wrong, Shaochen?”

Nearby, Liu Rushuang and her three friends noticed the commotion and quickly came over.

“Oh! So you’re juggling several women, huh? No wonder you’re such a lowlife, bickering with a child.”

The woman gave Liu Rushuang and her friends a sidelong glance, then sneered at Xu Shaochen with a sarcastic tone.

“Watch your mouth, lady. What’s your problem with us?”

Zhao Qingyu said, her face frosty.

“Haha. Problem? Acting shameless in public. I bet none of you are decent women either.”

The woman snickered, wrapping her arms across her chest as she mocked Zhao Qingyu with a sinister grin.

Xu Shaochen’s face became dangerously dark as he began walking toward the woman.

“What are you gonna do? Hit me? Come on, hit me! I dare you!”

“Yeah, I said it! All of you are garbage, trying to scam me. You think you can get money from me? Ha! I spit on you!”

Seeing Xu Shaochen approaching, not only did the woman not back down, but she even stepped forward and taunted him.

    “Slap!”

Xu Shaochen raised his hand and slapped the woman across the face, coldly saying, “Watch your mouth. Did you forget to brush your teeth after eating crap this morning?”

    “Ah!”

The woman clutched her face, stunned for a few moments. She clearly hadn’t expected him to actually hit her.

“You—you dare hit me?! I’ll make you pay for this!”

Once she recovered, the woman erupted in fury. Screaming like a madwoman, she charged at Xu Shaochen, scratching and clawing.

    “Get lost!”

Xu Shaochen coolly said one word and sidestepped, causing the woman to miss and fall to the ground.

“Good! That fall was perfect! About time!”

“Exactly! She’s been acting like she’s in the right while she’s clearly the problem. Just look at her son, and you’ll see what kind of person she is.”

The crowd cheered, having been angered by the woman earlier. Even they had felt the urge to teach her a lesson, but Xu Shaochen got to it first.

If not for their own self-restraint, they would’ve stepped up to deal with her themselves.

“Wife! Wife! What happened to you?”

At that moment, a middle-aged man came running with two bottles of mineral water in his hands. His face changed as he saw the scene.

“Honey, that man bullied me and our son! Look at my face—it was him! He hit me!”

The woman pointed at Xu Shaochen, gritting her teeth.

“You little punk! You hit my wife? You must have a death wish!”

Hearing this, the middle-aged man’s anger flared. His expression darkened as he glared at Xu Shaochen.

“I suggest you get the full story first.”

Xu Shaochen coldly replied, not wanting to fight the man since he wasn’t involved.

But that didn’t mean he was afraid of him.

“I don’t care about the story. All I know is you hit my wife, and for that, I won’t let you go!”

The middle-aged man shouted without hesitation.

“Daddy, hit him! Hit him! Beat him to death!”

The brat stood by his father’s side, egging him on, and once again began spraying water at Xu Shaochen.

“The water all over me—it’s from your son spraying me with his water gun. I calmly told your wife, but she started cursing, insulting me and my friends. If you were in my shoes, what would you do?”

Xu Shaochen stated coldly, explaining the situation without emotion.

The middle-aged man replied self-righteously, “My son is young. He doesn’t know any better. So what if he sprayed you?”

“To hell with ‘kids don’t know any better!'”

Xu Shaochen couldn’t hold his anger any longer. He cursed and interrupted, immediately lifting his leg and kicking the man in the chest.

    “Thud!”

    “Aaaah!”

With a scream, the middle-aged man stumbled back before falling hard to the ground.
