Chapter Index

    Morning.

Xu Shaochen returned after finishing his exercises.

He had just encountered Wang Meng and Sun Yaowen again, and Xu Shaochen gave them a few pointers.

Xu Shaochen felt that Sun Yaowen’s background was not simple, but he didn’t ask much.

After all, no matter how complex, could it be more complex than him, the world’s most low-key yet luxurious billionaire?

“Boss, I accidentally burnt one of the steaks.”

When she saw Xu Shaochen coming in, Linda, who was dressed in a black suit, said this apologetically.

“It’s okay.” Xu Shaochen smiled slightly.

Linda smiled, thinking her boss was quite considerate and handsome. Perhaps one day, she might be willing to have something happen between them.

Xu Shaochen wiped his face with a towel and casually said to her, “You can eat the burnt one.”

    Linda’s smile froze instantly.

After finishing breakfast, Linda, with a hint of resentment in her eyes, cleared the dishes as Xu Shaochen left the house.

    “Good morning, Boss.”

Long Yi and Long Er had already been waiting outside.

“Good morning, Long Er. You drive me today!”

Xu Shaochen nodded and said, looking at Long Er.

    “Yes, Boss.”

Long Er nodded, quickly stepped forward, and bent over to open the rear car door for Xu Shaochen.

Long Er drove in the front, and Long Yi followed behind. The two cars headed to Jiangzhou University.

The Nanshan Villa District was a bit far from the city center, and this stretch of road was sparsely populated and very quiet.

    “Vroom… Screech—”

At that moment, a black Volkswagen suddenly sped out and came to a stop, blocking Xu Shaochen’s path.

“Boss, a car is blocking the road.”

Long Er’s expression changed slightly as he quickly turned the steering wheel, preparing to turn around.

After all, even though he wasn’t afraid of whoever was blocking the road, as a bodyguard, he couldn’t allow Xu Shaochen to be put in danger.

    “Screech—”

Another car suddenly appeared behind them, trapping Xu Shaochen’s Mercedes and Long Yi’s Audi in the middle.

Then, the doors of both cars opened, and more than ten people got out, each holding machetes and steel pipes.

“Boss, be careful. Stay in the car.”

Long Er turned back and said to Xu Shaochen with a serious expression, then opened the door and got out.

Long Yi, who was in the Audi, also stepped out and walked over, both of them positioning themselves in front of the car to shield Xu Shaochen.

Xu Shaochen watched the scene outside the car with an expressionless face, his eyes cold as ice, his face so dark it could drip water.

He bent down to retrieve a black handgun from under the seat, tucked it into his waistband, and got out of the car with a cold expression.

It was the gun he had used to kill Liu Hui. He had fired two bullets at that time, leaving nine in the chamber.

    “Boss…”

When Long Yi and Long Er saw Xu Shaochen step out, their faces changed.

    “Who sent you?”

Xu Shaochen coldly asked the leader, a bald-headed man.

“You don’t need to know that much. All you need to know is that you’re leaving here minus a leg today.”

The bald man gripped his machete and sneered at Xu Shaochen.

Xu Shaochen narrowed his eyes slightly, “Huang Tao? So, that old fox is still after my leg!”

He hadn’t even gone to settle accounts with Huang Tao yet, and now Huang Tao was making a move against him again. Did he really think Xu Shaochen was made of clay?

“Since you know it’s our Fourth Master, you should accept your fate. Offending him? Not even the King of Heaven can save you.”

The bald man said arrogantly, cracking his neck and stepping forward with his machete, inching closer.

“Is there really no room for negotiation?” Xu Shaochen asked seriously, staring at the bald man.

The bald man sneered, “Negotiate? Are you brain dead? Do we look like we’re here to negotiate with you…”

Before he could finish speaking, his expression froze, and he stood still as his face turned pale, cold sweat dripping from his forehead.

Because Xu Shaochen was pointing a handgun right at his head.

The men behind him were also shocked. Though they were no strangers to breaking people’s bones, they had never seen anything like this! Long Yi and Long Er were a bit surprised as well, but remained calm. After all, it wasn’t uncommon for some rich kids to collect guns.

“Since there’s no room for negotiation, let’s communicate in a different way!” Xu Shaochen said with a slight smile, cocking the gun.

“Gulp…” The bald man swallowed hard in fear but tried to maintain his composure, sneering, “Trying to scare your Grandpa with a fake toy? You think I’m easy to scare? Go ahead, shoot if you dare.”

    “Bang!”

Before he finished speaking, Xu Shaochen lowered the gun and pulled the trigger without expression.

    “Aaaah! My leg, my leg!”

As the shot rang out, the bald man’s knee burst open in a spray of blood, and he fell to the ground screaming in pain.

The others were so terrified they were trembling, throwing down their machetes and pipes, getting ready to run.

    “Anyone who moves dies.”

    Xu Shaochen said calmly.

The would-be escapees froze instantly, then turned around and all fell to their knees.

“Boss, have mercy! We were just following Huang Tao’s orders!”

“Yeah, Boss, please spare us. We won’t dare again, please!”

One after another, they began kowtowing and begging for mercy, pushing all the blame onto Huang Tao. None of them were even close to their earlier arrogant behavior.

“See? I tried to talk, but you didn’t listen. Why did you have to push me to this? Where is Huang Tao?”

Xu Shaochen ignored them and instead, looked down at the bald man, speaking coldly.

The bald man gritted his teeth, his eyes filled with resentment as he stared at Xu Shaochen, looking as if he could kill with his gaze, but said nothing.

Xu Shaochen lifted his foot and stomped hard on the bald man’s wounded knee.

    “Aaaahh!”

The bald man let out a heart-wrenching scream, his face turning dreadful pale as beads of cold sweat dripped from his forehead.

“I thought you were mute. I’ll ask again, where is Huang Tao?”

As Xu Shaochen spoke, he pressed the gun to the bald man’s forehead, “Believe me, I can kill you without any consequences. Do you really think you can mess with me? Do you qualify?”

Huang Tao looked up and glared at Xu Shaochen, beads of cold sweat forming on his face.

Xu Shaochen simply stared at him calmly, like he was looking at a dead man, with no trace of emotion in his eyes.

“I’ll talk, I’ll talk, I’ll tell you everything.”

After a moment of eye contact with Xu Shaochen, Huang Tao finally couldn’t hold on any longer and gave in. He didn’t dare to gamble with his life.

Xu Shaochen said nothing and just continued to look at him.

“Huang Tao is at home. He lives in Villa No. 5 in Yunshan.” The bald man said with difficulty.

Xu Shaochen turned around, got into the car, and without looking back, said, “You can try calling the police.”
