Chapter 625: I Thought It Was My Son
by xennovel“You finally came, damn it. Otherwise, I might have spent the rest of my life in this wheelchair, growing old and dying alone.”
Upon seeing Xu Shaochen, Mei Liangxin offered a smile, the tension that had been building up finally released.
“Whoever gives you a wheelchair, I’ll give them a coffin.”
Xu Shaochen glanced around the room, his tone calm as he spoke, though his threat was clear.
“You’re young, but your tone is big. Do you even know who we are?”
Liu Hong snorted coldly, looking at Xu Shaochen with disdain.
Xu Shaochen stared at Liu Hong, walking towards him step by step, speaking word by word:
“Even if you’re the King of Heaven, you’ll kneel in front of me.”
As soon as the words fell, he grabbed the ashtray on the table and smashed it towards Liu Hong’s head.
“Bang!”
Blood splattered everywhere.
“Ah!”
Liu Hong screamed in agony, clutching his head as he collapsed to the ground, writhing in pain.
“Hong’er!” Liu Zhiwei and his wife exclaimed in shock. Liu’s mother rushed forward to help him up.
“Clang!”
Xu Shaochen casually dropped the bloodstained ashtray on the ground, giving Liu Zhiwei a faint smile as he spoke: “Uncle Liu, right? I came here today to arrange a marriage for my brother. I’m just wondering, will you give me this favor?”
“You just hit my son!” Liu Zhiwei’s face turned ashen, and he stared coldly at Xu Shaochen.
“Your son?” Xu Shaochen paused, then exaggeratedly acted surprised, before chuckling: “If you hadn’t said anything, I would’ve thought he was my son. My bad, I hit the wrong person. Apologies.”
“You’re courting death! Do you know who you’re talking to?” Liu Zhiwei roared in fury. In Xinyang, when had anyone ever dared to humiliate him like this?
The smile on Xu Shaochen’s face slowly vanished, replaced by a cold expression: “Of course, I know. You’re Liu Zhiwei from the Liu Family in Xinyang. You may be something to others, but to me, you’re nothing!”
“Long Yi, bring out the ‘firecrackers’ and let Mr. Liu have a look!”
As Xu Shaochen’s words fell, a dozen handguns were pointed directly at Liu Zhiwei.
In an instant, Liu Zhiwei, Liu’s mother, Liu Hong, and their bodyguards all turned pale.
Even Liu Ying’s heart tightened, for after all, these were still her family members.
Mei Liangxin noticed her unease, gently patting her back and whispering in her ear, “Relax. Xu Shaochen knows his limits.”
Only then did Liu Ying’s worried heart settle down.
“Mr. Liu, let me ask you, I’m arranging this marriage today. Any objections?”
Xu Shaochen stepped forward, almost face-to-face with Liu Zhiwei, his lips curved into a smirk as he looked at him arrogantly: “If you agree, I’ll have a grand display of fireworks celebrating my brother’s marriage to your daughter for three straight days and nights in Jiangzhou!”
“If you refuse, then the guns and bullets in this room will serve as the fireworks for your funeral.”
As Xu Shaochen spoke, the entire living room fell into an eerie silence. One could even hear the sound of breathing.
Liu Zhiwei clenched his fists tightly, glaring at Xu Shaochen: “Are you threatening me?”
“Clink!”
Xu Shaochen snatched the handgun from a nearby bodyguard, placing it directly against Liu Zhiwei’s forehead. Calmly, he explained: “Threatening you? No, no, I’m just negotiating.”
“When I negotiate, it’s done in two ways: either with a gun, or sitting down to talk. Obviously, your Liu Family isn’t worthy of wasting my time sitting down.”
Liu Hong’s eyes burned with hatred as he shouted through gritted teeth: “Dad, he’s bluffing! I don’t believe he actually dares to pull the trigger!”
“Bang!”
As soon as Liu Hong finished speaking, Xu Shaochen turned the gun and pulled the trigger without hesitation. A bullet tore through Liu Hong’s leg.
“Aaaah! My leg! My leg!”
Liu Hong clutched his injured leg, screaming in pain as cold sweat poured down his face.
“Hong’er!”
Liu Zhiwei and his wife’s faces changed drastically. They hadn’t expected Xu Shaochen to actually fire.
“I’m calling the Police! You’re going to jail for this!”
Liu Hong shouted hysterically at Xu Shaochen, his eyes burning with hatred.
Xu Shaochen chuckled, not even bothering to look back as he said: “If I wanted to kill him today, who would take the blame for it?”
“I will!”
A dozen bodyguards responded in unison, stepping forward, their presence intimidating.
Xu Shaochen smiled in satisfaction and tossed his Phone in front of Liu Hong: “Go on, didn’t you want to call the Police? In my contacts, there’s the Municipal Bureau chief. Give him a call directly.”
Liu Hong’s face went pale, his body trembling slightly. Along with the hatred in his eyes, there was now a hint of fear.
“Mr. Liu, your son doesn’t seem brave enough to call the cops. Why don’t you, as his father, help him out?”
Xu Shaochen smirked contemptuously, turning his gaze to Liu Zhiwei and pressing the gun against his head once more.
Liu Zhiwei gave Xu Shaochen a wary glance, taking a deep breath before replying: “Young man, I suggest you put that gun down. It’s been years since anyone dared to point a gun at me.”
“Then allow me to help you relive your youthful days,” Xu Shaochen said, his face unchanging.
Liu Zhiwei’s face turned dark: “He wants to marry my daughter? Impossible! My daughter can only marry into a Jingcheng family!”
“Jingcheng? If I wanted, Mei Liangxin could easily establish himself in Jingcheng by tomorrow. Do you believe me?”
Xu Shaochen scoffed at Liu Zhiwei’s words.
Liu Zhiwei didn’t reply, but the mocking look in his eyes said everything.
How ignorant can one be? Does he really think Jingcheng is like Jiangzhou, where he can act so recklessly?
“Ring, ring, ring…”
At that moment, Xu Shaochen’s Phone rang. It was the sound breaking the tense silence.
Seeing it was his Phone, Xu Shaochen turned to a Liu Family bodyguard and said: “Could you be so kind as to pass me my Phone?”
The bodyguard gulped nervously, then carefully bent down, picked up the Phone, and tremblingly handed it to Xu Shaochen.
Seeing the display on his Phone, it was a call from Chen Ju. Xu Shaochen answered immediately.
“Shao, where are you? I have something I need to discuss with you. It’s about the Kong Family.”
Xu Shaochen raised an eyebrow at the mention of the Kong Family, glancing at Liu Zhiwei, then said: “Come to the compound in XXX. Perfect timing, you can help my brother arrange a marriage. Apparently, only you guys from Jingcheng seem to be worth noticing, while country bumpkins like me get ignored.”
“Nonsense. Who’s such an idiot to ignore you?”
Chen Ju thought Xu Shaochen was joking. Who in their right mind would dare underestimate Xu Shaochen?
Xu Shaochen chuckled: “There’s really someone that idiotic. You’ll see when you get here.”
Liu Zhiwei seethed with rage, knowing full well that Xu Shaochen was mocking him, yet he couldn’t do anything but endure.
