Chapter 648: Still Talk About Your Mom
by xennovelNightfall.
Mei Liangxin had just left the hospital and was walking alone along the street.
He kept his head down, playing on his Phone. He was a little nervous, fearing that if he looked up, those secretly watching him would notice something was off.
Among the traffic, Long San and Long Si took turns driving different Cars, constantly appearing and disappearing to ensure Mei Liangxin’s safety—while also waiting for a fish to take the bait.
Mei Liangxin muttered to himself while playing on his Phone.
“Xu Shaochen, you bastard. Even if I die, I won’t let you go, even as a ghost!”
………
Meanwhile.
The one being cursed, Xu Shaochen, was dining with Deng Tianwen and Deng Tianyang in a private room at the Jiangzhou Grand Hotel.
Earlier in the afternoon, Deng Tianwen had called him, saying that his second brother, Deng Tianyang, wanted to meet.
Xu Shaochen agreed because he was curious about what kind of person the brother Deng Tianwen wanted to kill was.
The private room was large, and the dishes were exquisite, but only three were present to enjoy them.
More precisely, it was only Xu Shaochen who was enjoying the meal.
Deng Tianyang clearly had a purpose for coming, so he wasn’t in the mood to eat.
Deng Tianwen, maintaining his persona of mediocrity, naturally couldn’t start eating either.
Thus, the scene played out where Xu Shaochen was the only one eating while the other two merely watched.
Seeing Xu Shaochen continue eating and showing no signs of discussing serious matters, Deng Tianyang couldn’t hold back any longer.
Taking a deep breath, he looked at Xu Shaochen and broke the silence.
“Chairman Xu, I believe you already know why we’re here this time…”
“Second Young Master Deng, drink! Let’s drink! No serious talk tonight, let’s just talk about trivial things. You’ve come from afar, so here’s to both of you,” Xu Shaochen interrupted Deng Tianyang, raising his wine glass and smiling at him.
Halfway through speaking, Deng Tianyang was cut off by Xu Shaochen, which made him a little angry. He didn’t raise his glass.
Deng Tianwen, however, seemingly oblivious, raised his glass and clinked it with Xu Shaochen’s.
Seeing this, Deng Tianyang cursed inwardly, calling him an idiot. Now the initiative was completely handed over to Xu Shaochen.
Having realized this, all Deng Tianyang could do was feign a smile, raise his glass, and clink it with Xu Shaochen’s: “Chairman Xu, I’ll drink this first.”
As soon as he said this, he downed the entire glass.
After drinking, Deng Tianyang spoke again: “Chairman Xu, how about we settle the serious matter first and then chat afterward?”
“Second Young Master Deng, after dealing with work all day, I’m a little tired. I’m not in the mood to talk business now. I hope you understand.”
Xu Shaochen spoke kindly to Deng Tianyang, then added in his mind: “Your big brother was killed by your fourth brother, and you’re still talking about your mom’s business?”
A flash of anger briefly crossed Deng Tianyang’s face: “Chairman Xu, your people have already returned him. You wouldn’t go back on your word now, would you?”
“Clatter.”
Xu Shaochen calmly set down his chopsticks and looked expressionlessly at Deng Tianyang: “You’re accusing me of going back on my word?”
“Hmph! Isn’t that the case? If Chairman Xu were trustworthy, my big brother should be sitting here with us right now.”
Deng Tianyang snorted sarcastically.
Though he didn’t like Deng Tianquan, the legitimate heir, he still hoped to bring him back alive to claim credit.
“I don’t feel like talking to you. We can discuss matters when I’m in a better mood someday.”
Xu Shaochen calmly said, then wiped his mouth with a napkin and prepared to leave.
He was still worried about Mei Liangxin’s safety. Meeting Deng Tianyang this time was enough. From what he saw, Deng Tianyang was nothing more than an impatient idiot. There was no need to spend any more time on him.
“Chairman Xu, if you don’t give me an explanation tonight, you probably won’t be able to walk out of this room so easily.”
Deng Tianyang remained sitting, his tone icy as he stared at Xu Shaochen.
His bodyguards were guarding the door. He had already instructed them that without his order, Xu Shaochen wouldn’t be allowed to take a single step out of the room.
“Oh really? Let’s see if I can walk out for you.”
Xu Shaochen threw him a mocking smile.
“Hm!”
Deng Tianyang sneered, casually picking up his wine glass and leisurely pouring himself another drink.
But by the time Xu Shaochen opened the door and strode out confidently…
“Clatter!”
The smile on Deng Tianyang’s face froze instantly, and the wine glass fell to the ground: “How… how is that possible? Where are the bodyguards?”
He had clearly placed bodyguards outside. Why were they all gone?
“Second Young Master Deng, are you feeling confused?” Xu Shaochen stood at the door, his expression playful. “No worries, I’m happy to help clear up your confusion.”
As he said this,
Long Yi, Long Er, and the rest of Xu Shaochen’s bodyguards entered the room, pointing guns at the heads of Deng Tianyang’s four burly men.
“Second Young Master, save us! Save us, Second Young Master!”
The four burly men, all beaten with bruised faces, pleaded for help the moment they saw Deng Tianyang.
“It’s impossible! How could… How could you have prepared for this!?”
Deng Tianyang was dumbfounded, staring at Xu Shaochen in disbelief.
“Second Brother, such a basic question lacks class. How did Chairman Xu know, you ask? Of course, I told him.”
Deng Tianwen stood up, looking at Deng Tianyang with a broad smile.
After learning about Deng Tianyang’s foolish plan, Deng Tianwen had no intention of stopping it and had immediately informed Xu Shaochen.
One could only say that Deng Tianyang had dug his own grave.
Initially, Deng Tianwen had been thinking about how to convince Xu Shaochen to kill Deng Tianyang. But it turned out that Deng Tianyang had conveniently delivered himself right into Xu Shaochen’s hands.
“It was you! Deng Tianwen, you traitorous pig!”
Deng Tianyang erupted into curses. Over the years, he had always lorded over Deng Tianwen and had grown used to being in a superior position.
“Bang!”
Deng Tianwen grabbed a beer bottle and smashed it against Deng Tianyang’s head. The bottle shattered into pieces.
“Ah!”
Deng Tianyang screamed and instinctively clutched his head, collapsing to the ground as blood streamed down his face through his fingers.
“Second Brother, sorry, but this will probably be the last time you talk down to me.”
Deng Tianwen stood over him, speaking with a smile that didn’t reach his eyes.
“You… you’re going to kill me? Why? Why!?”
Hearing those words, Deng Tianyang panicked. His body trembled uncontrollably.
“Why?”
Deng Tianwen’s face darkened, his expression twisted with fury. He grabbed Deng Tianyang by the collar and lifted him, gritting his teeth.
“You dare ask why? It was your idea to kill Xiaohuan, and you’re the one who arranged the Car crash! Is that reason enough?”
Deng Tianyang’s eyes dodged the accusation, stammering: “I-I did it for you… for the family’s reputation.”
