Chapter 650: Only Stopped One Car
by xennovel“Damn!”
Hearing the sudden roar of the engine, Mei Liangxin instinctively turned around, his whole body almost jumped in fright, his face turning pale.
His mind went completely blank, and for a moment, he didn’t even know where to hide.
It was a busy street, with traffic everywhere, leaving him with no place to escape.
Running around in confusion could make him more likely to get run over by another Car.
“Xu Shaochen! Damn it!”
Mei Liangxin cursed as a rampaging Volkswagen charged at him. He felt like his life was coming to a very unsatisfying conclusion.
“Bang!”
Just as the Volkswagen was about to hit him, a gray Honda Civic collided with its side.
The Volkswagen skid off to the side, the door dented.
“Bang! Bang!”
In an instant, a chain reaction caused several other Cars on the road to crash.
Luckily, because it was within the city and the speeds weren’t high, and the Cars were relatively close, the situation wasn’t too serious. It only forced many Cars to stop.
The Volkswagen was forced to a stop, surrounded by several Cars, leaving no room for escape.
However, the driver of a white Toyota, their accomplice, managed to accelerate and crash through one of the barricading Cars to escape.
“Vroom vroom vroom…”
Long San and the others, though furious at the sight, couldn’t give chase.
Since the white Toyota was fleeing recklessly, it caused several traffic accidents along the way.
But Long San and his team couldn’t act so recklessly, so they could only watch as the Car sped off.
Inside the Volkswagen, four foreigners had already pulled out their guns.
But they didn’t make any sudden moves.
They weren’t confident enough to take on ten people at once.
They had all seen that Long San and his men had handguns at their waists.
So, if they fired first…
their only outcome would be…
to be riddled with bullets.
They weren’t afraid of death, but that didn’t mean they wanted to die. Everyone has a strong instinct to survive.
Unless there’s no other option or nowhere to run, no one is willing to risk their life.
“Bang!”
Long San approached with a sledgehammer and smashed it down onto the Volkswagen’s windshield. Immediately, spider web-like cracks appeared.
The four inside pointed their guns at Long San.
But Long San wasn’t the least bit frightened. He just sneered at them and swung his hammer again.
“Bang! Crash—”
This time, the windshield shattered.
Then, the side windows. Long San seemed to ignore the handguns inside as he went around smashing window after window.
The four inside, though holding their guns, grew visibly more nervous.
“Drop your guns. Get out of the Car.”
Long San said coldly in English as he looked at the four.
They didn’t say anything but exchanged glances, still keeping their guns trained on him.
Long San seemed to guess their thoughts. He smirked at them and said, “Don’t think about using me as a hostage to escape. My boss has already paid me my death salary, so he probably doesn’t care whether I live or die.”
His English was flawless, as he had spent a lot of time traversing battlefields around the world.
If his foreign language skills weren’t good, he wouldn’t even be able to read blueprints.
The four inside unconsciously swallowed after hearing this, but they still didn’t make a move.
In this situation, they were at an absolute disadvantage.
This wasn’t a movie, and they weren’t some invincible battle-hardened soldiers from novels. There was no way they’d break out of this unscathed.
That kind of stuff was for gods, not men.
“Are we… colleagues?”
Inside the Car, the leader of the four spoke in broken Chinese.
Long San didn’t answer, but he pulled out his handgun and aimed it at the leader’s head. “Drop the gun and get out, or I’ll shoot you first, then your comrades will kill me, and then my men will shoot your comrades.”
“You know, we’re all just doing a job…”
Although Long San didn’t respond, the leader seemed to confirm Long San’s identity and tried to negotiate.
Long San didn’t speak, only chambered a round and stared coldly at the leader.
“OK, OK, we’ll cooperate, cooperate.”
The leader quickly shut up, gave a nervous smile, and tossed his gun out of the Car.
“Clink! Clink!”
Seeing their leader’s action, the other three followed suit, throwing out their guns.
“Hands on your heads. Get out of the Car.”
Long San commanded sternly.
Having already disCarded their guns, the four had no reason to resist and obediently followed Long San’s orders.
As they said, they were just doing a job. If they died, they wouldn’t get their remaining pay. So, why bother risking their lives?
Few are really willing to throw their lives away. Clearly, they weren’t.
Besides, in this situation, there was no way they would survive if they fought. It was better to bide their time and look for an opportunity.
“Take them away!”
Long San gestured to one of the bodyguards behind him.
“Wait!”
Just at that moment, Mei Liangxin rushed over.
“Mei…”
Before Long San could finish speaking, Mei Liangxin kicked one of the mercenaries straight in the groin.
“Aaaah!”
The mercenary let out a horrendous scream, clutching his groin as he rolled on the ground in agony.
Seeing this, everyone present felt a chill run down their spines.
“Damn! That’s for trying to run me over!”
“Slap!”
“Slap!”
Mei Liangxin cursed as he slapped the other three several times, mixing in punches and kicks.
Although the three were clearly angry, having already thrown away their guns, they had no ability to fight back.
“Mr. Mei, that’s enough.”
Long San interrupted. Any longer and the Police might show up.
“Tch! Lucky for you, or I’d beat you to death today!”
Mei Liangxin spat through gritted teeth before turning and walking away.
“Take them away!”
With Long San’s order, the bodyguards escorted the four mercenaries to a Car and drove off.
Of course, they left about twenty people behind.
After all, with so many Cars involved in a pile-up, it’s impossible for everyone to escape. Someone had to stay behind to take the fall.
But with Xu Shaochen involved, they weren’t worried about getting blamed.
No one was killed, just some property damage and traffic disturbances. A little money and a few nights in jail would be enough to clear things up.
Long San took the four mercenaries to Xu Shaochen’s pharmaceutical construction site.
At the moment, the factory hadn’t started construction yet. Only some materials had been delivered. But it was far from the city, and late at night, no one was around.
Then Long San made a Phone call to Xu Shaochen to report the situation.
At the same time, the four men who had escaped in the Toyota returned to Zhou Yun’s rented apartment.
