Chapter Index

    In the Car.

Xu Shaochen made a few Phone calls.

He asked others to help track some people down.

Since he knew the other side had many people—at least more than 20—it would be relatively easy to track them down.

If a place suddenly has so many strangers, including several foreigners, it would definitely draw attention.

Thus, it would be easy to uncover them.

Of course, even if those people don’t leave their place, the 20 or so of them would still need to eat, right?

The best way would be ordering takeout. An order for over 20 people would be huge.

Starting from that clue, it should be possible to trace them.

Once found, Xu Shaochen would directly report to the Police that foreign mercenaries had entered the country, posing a threat to his personal safety.

After all, with so many people, it would be impossible for Xu Shaochen to kill them all at once, so he’d better leave it to the Police.

As for the mastermind behind it all…

Once the other side is caught, Xu Shaochen has at least 100 ways to kill him in Jiangzhou.

Half an hour later, Xu Shaochen returned to Hua’e Mountain Manor.

“Boss, I need to talk to you about something very important.”

Just as he entered the door, Xu Shaochen was about to casually greet the women when Linda came up to him, her face looking serious.

Although they were in a relationship, Linda continued calling him ‘Boss’ because it was a habit she couldn’t change.

    “What’s going on?”

Xu Shaochen was a bit stunned. Ever since he gained complete control over Xu Corporation by taking shares from Barron, and the shareholders stopped causing trouble, he hadn’t seen Linda act this stern.

“Boss, let’s talk in your study.”

Linda said. It wasn’t that she didn’t trust the other women, but there were some things they shouldn’t hear.

Xu Shaochen nodded and led Linda to the study.

    “You can speak now.”

After closing the door, Xu Shaochen looked at Linda and said.

“Boss, President Jenny asked me to notify you that it’s best to take some time to go to Mg Country. You need to solidify your position quickly and stabilize the situation.”

Xu Shaochen frowned: “Is something wrong? What do those shareholders think they can still do? The shares I hold are enough to turn Xu Corporation into my own domain.”

“It’s not the shareholders. It’s the government.” Linda said with a heavy tone.

Xu Shaochen raised an eyebrow: “The government?”

“Yes, Boss. Mg Country doesn’t want to see the world’s largest and richest company led by someone from Longguo.”

“They’ve had this thought for a long time. But your grandfather was a formidable figure. His absolute control over Xu Corporation and huge influence gave Mg’s government no room to interfere.”

“Now, however, they see their chance. Like I said before, they don’t want the biggest company in the world to be run by someone from Longguo.”

Xu Shaochen fell silent for a moment after hearing this, then suddenly said, “Actually, this issue is easy to resolve, right?”

“Yes, Boss. In Mg Country, the real power doesn’t lie with the officials in front of the cameras—it’s in the hands of those behind the scenes. That’s why President Jenny hopes you can personally go to Mg Country and meet with them.”

    Linda nodded.

It wasn’t just her as a citizen of Mg who understood this—people worldwide knew that real power in Mg Country belonged to the capitalists and financial oligarchs behind the scenes, not the officials.

What Xu Shaochen needed to do was to settle things with these financial elites, whether through cooperation or some other means.

Once they were on board, nothing else would be a problem.

Xu Shaochen’s personal visit to Mg Country would demonstrate his sincerity.

Negotiation was nothing more than an exchange and compromise of interests, leading to a result that satisfies all parties.

“Alright, I understand. I’ll head to Mg Country before school starts.”

Xu Shaochen nodded. This was something he would have to do.

Besides, Xu Shaochen suspected that this was all orchestrated by those financial elites.

They were trying to force him into negotiating by putting pressure on him, so they could secure something from Xu Corporation.

Thinking of this, Xu Shaochen felt a little irritated. His company happened to be on their turf, and there wasn’t much he could do about it.

Suddenly, Xu Shaochen had a flash of inspiration. What if he bought an island and moved the company there?

He could build the island however he wanted, turning it into a dreamlike kingdom with an airport, homes, and all kinds of public facilities. He certainly didn’t lack the money for it.

Of course, this was just a thought. In reality, it would be far more complicated to execute.

“Alright, I’ll go contact President Jenny so she doesn’t have to worry.”

Seeing Xu Shaochen agree, Linda headed for the door.

    “Hey! What are you doing?!”

Suddenly, she exclaimed as Xu Shaochen scooped her up into his arms.

“Look at Shuang and Xue—they’re both expecting already. Aren’t you getting anxious? Today, I’ll show you some special attention.”

Xu Shaochen said with a mischievous smile.

“Take me to your bedroom. I don’t want to do it here.”

Linda refused to do it on the hard study desk.

    “Consider it done.”

With that, Xu Shaochen carried her out of the study and headed next door to the bedroom.

Moments later, the room echoed with the sound of rain hitting banana leaves.

About forty to fifty minutes passed before the room finally grew quiet again.

“I’m going to call President Jenny now.”

Resting for a while, Linda walked out of the room, draped in Xu Shaochen’s robe.

Watching Linda’s graceful figure, Xu Shaochen silently lit a cigarette, savoring the peace as he took a drag.

This was the legendary ‘post-action cigarette’.

Suddenly, Xu Shaochen’s gaze fell on a safe in the corner of the room.

It made him think of the heated jade inside.

He walked over, opened the safe, and took out the jade. Holding it, warmth radiated into his palm, as if it flowed along his body’s meridians.

    What exactly is this thing?

He believed Barron must know a lot about this jade. Otherwise, why would he trade company shares for it?

Yes, even though what Barron received was a fake jade.

Xu Shaochen thought that if he gave this jade to scientists for research, they might discover something extraordinary.

After all, with elements like Egyptian pyramids, ancient relics, mysterious heat—it would certainly drive researchers wild.

More importantly, Xu Shaochen wanted to know what made this jade so valuable that Barron was desperate to get it.

Xu Shaochen recalled his earlier idea of buying an island.

Why not actually buy one? Even if the company doesn’t move there right away.

He could build a lab on the island and invite top scientists from around the world to study the jade.

Maybe he would receive some unexpected surprises.

And even if they found nothing special about the jade, the lab could always be used to research something else.

As long as they invented something new, they could bring it to market like special medicine and make a profit.
