“Are you sure you won’t return the land to me?!”

Director Li’s eyes were slightly red. Cutting off someone’s source of income is akin to killing their parents.

Because he had hired professionals who said that the tomb underneath was likely from before the Tang Dynasty, and anything unearthed from it would fetch an astronomical price.

“You’re pushing me too far!” Director Li shouted angrily, his face burning from the slap.

“Slap!”

Xu Shaochen slapped him again. “Yes, I am pushing you too far. What can you do about it?”

Director Li’s hands, gripping the gun, started to shake violently. He panted heavily, eyes bloodshot.

“Get out of my sight. I better not see you in Jiangzhou again.”

Xu Shaochen said coldly.

“I will remember what happened today.”

Director Li squeezed the words from between his clenched teeth before turning to leave.

“Director Li! Director Li, wait for me!”

The skinny middle-aged man from the demolition company finally snapped out of it. He shot a frightened look at Xu Shaochen, then hastily followed after Director Li.

“Thud!”

Director Li turned around and gave the skinny man a hard kick, sending him stumbling to the ground. “Useless! Even a dog would be more useful than you!”

Without looking back, Director Li stormed off.

Once Xu Shaochen developed the land, he would surely discover the tomb underneath.

By then, the antiques that were rightfully his, along with the fortune they would fetch, would all fall into Xu Shaochen’s hands.

Just thinking about it made his heart ache as if it were bleeding.

No! He had to find a way. He couldn’t let someone else get that ancient tomb!

The skinny middle-aged man, still lying on the ground after being kicked, began to scramble to his feet, trying to chase after Director Li.

“Did I give you permission to leave?”

At this moment, Xu Shaochen’s emotionless voice reached his ears.

The man shuddered and froze in place, turning around to look at Xu Shaochen in terror, then collapsed onto the ground, kneeling.

“Worthless scum. Go to the hospital and beg for forgiveness. If the elderly man you knocked down and the couple you beat up don’t forgive you, you will spend the rest of your life in that hospital!”

Xu Shaochen glared down at the skinny man with contempt in his eyes.

“Yes, yes, I’ll go! I’ll go right now!”

The skinny man let out a sigh of relief and awkwardly crawled away, stumbling as he ran like a madman, as if a tiger were chasing him.

“Shaochen, thank you. If it weren’t for you, my grandfather and my parents would have been beaten for nothing.”

Li Qi came over and looked gratefully at Xu Shaochen.

“It was no big deal.” Xu Shaochen paused for a second, then continued, “By the way… you heard earlier… about the land…”

Director Li wanted this land very badly, but on the surface, it seemed completely ordinary.
