Chapter Index

Liao Zanfai left Jiangzhou Grand Hotel with a belly full of anger.

He drove fast, speeding up as he went, and arrived at a bar.

After arriving at the bar, he asked for a private room and got two girls to drink with him.

Liao Zanfai kept downing one glass after another, the hatred in his heart for Xu Shaochen growing deeper.

The two girls he called to drink with were exchanging glances, sitting nearby, too scared to speak.

    “Ah! What are you doing?!”

    Suddenly, the two women screamed.

Because Liao Zanfai suddenly pushed them both onto the sofa.

“Damn it, don’t move around! Ten thousand each!”

    Liao Zanfai cursed impatiently.

Hearing this, the two women instantly gave up struggling.

The girls were simple; they didn’t need Cars or houses, just money, and they’d do anything.

    “Bang!”

At that moment, the private room’s door was suddenly kicked open with force.

“Screw you! What do you think you’re doing? Get the hell out!”

Having his moment interrupted, Liao Zanfai was furious.

    “Bang!”

One of the men walked up and kicked Liao Zanfai to the ground. Looking down at him, he said, “Our boss wants to see you. Come with us.”

As the words fell, they dragged him out.

“What the hell are you doing? Let go of me! Do you know who I am?!”

Liao Zanfai was starting to panic. Earlier it had been those girls struggling. Now it was his turn.

But in the end, it was all of no use. He was dragged out of the bar and shoved into an Audi.

“Young Master Liao, let me introduce myself. I’m Liu Jun. Pleased to meet you.”

Liu Jun smiled slightly at Liao Zanfai, extending his hand.

Today, he wore a pair of gold-rimmed glasses, giving him an air of elegance and gentleness.

    “Smack!”

Liao Zanfai slapped his hand away and said coldly, “If you know who I am, how dare you pull this stunt? Are you tired of living?”

“Ah, I don’t have a choice, Young Master Liao. I’m just following the boss’s orders. It’s not even the first time I’ve had to deal with someone named Liao.”

Liu Jun wasn’t angry. He sighed, looking a little helpless.

Liao Zanfai’s face changed immediately: “You work for Xu Shaochen!”

Almost at the same moment, his hand reached for the Car door, trying to escape.

He hadn’t even gotten the chance to settle his score with Xu Shaochen, and now Xu Shaochen had struck first.

    “Click!”

Suddenly, a handgun was pressed against the base of his spine. “Young Master Liao, don’t move. Guns go off easily. If you get hurt, that wouldn’t be good, would it?”

“What… what exactly do you want?” Liao Zanfai’s face turned pale, stammering as he asked.

Liu Jun chuckled lightly, “We’re taking Young Master Liao to play a little game.”

Ten minutes later, the Car arrived at a large dog kennel.

    “Woof! Woof! Woof!”

In the dark of the night, the barking of dogs echoed eerily.

Liu Jun walked in front while two bodyguards escorted Liao Zanfai behind.

After a while, they stopped in front of a large cage where a chained wolfhound was kept.

“Young Master Liao, this dog hasn’t eaten in two days. What do you think will happen if I throw you in there?”

Liu Jun turned around and looked at Liao Zanfai calmly.

Liao Zanfai shivered with fear. “I… I’m warning you, don’t do anything rash…”

“Liao Zanrong said the same thing. And what happened? My guys stabbed him three times, and I stabbed myself once to clear my name. Do you think I’m scared?”

Liu Jun interrupted him, then waved his hand. “Go on, show Young Master Liao what might happen to him.”

As his words dropped, one of the bodyguards left and soon returned carrying a large rooster, which he tossed into the cage.

    “Woof!”

As soon as the rooster landed in the cage, the wolfhound bit its head off in one bite. It flapped its wings a couple of times before going completely still.

Looking at the bloody rooster and the blood-covered wolfhound, Liao Zanfai was drenched with cold sweat.

“Alright, let’s put Young Master Liao in there now to give it a try. Don’t worry, Liao. The cage is big, and the dog’s on a chain. It might not even get to you.”

Liu Jun spoke softly, his eyes full of amusement.

    “No! Don’t! Please don’t!”

Fear filled Liao Zanfai’s eyes. After seeing what happened to the rooster, he was scared out of his wits.

But Liu Jun acted as if he didn’t hear him and ignored his pleas.

Then, Liao Zanfai was forcibly pushed into the cage.

Luckily, Liao Zanfai wasn’t completely brainless and immediately ran to one corner of the cage.

    “Woof!”

The wolfhound lunged at him, but the chain was too short, so it couldn’t reach him.

However, blood from the rooster splattered all over Liao Zanfai’s face.

That was already enough to terrify Liao Zanfai. Even though the dog couldn’t reach him now, what if it broke free later?

“Young Master Liao, I finally got a chance to work for Mr. Xu. So, I value this job. Whatever he orders me to do, I’ll do it well.”

“He simply asked me to teach you a lesson. But I’ve been wondering, how can I teach you a proper lesson?”

“Let’s do this. If, in half an hour, the dog hasn’t bitten you, I’ll let you out. But if the dog breaks the chain, well… that’s just your bad luck. How’s that sound?”

Hearing that, Liao Zanfai was scared out of his mind:

“Let me out! Please, let me out! I won’t dare to mess with Xu Shaochen again!”

    “Woof!”

At that moment, the wolfhound lunged again. This time, it seemed to get even closer.

Liao Zanfai shivered and couldn’t control himself, wetting his pants.

“Young Master Liao, what was that? I didn’t quite catch it. Could you repeat what you just said?”

Liu Jun, standing outside the cage, looked at Liao Zanfai with a confused expression.

“I said I’m sorry! I was wrong! I’ll never mess with Xu Shaochen again! Please, please let me out!”

“How about I give him a call? I’ll apologize to him myself.”

Liao Zanfai began to cry. Just moments ago, he was thinking of making Xu Shaochen’s life a living hell. Now, those thoughts had vanished.

Even though the dog was on a chain and couldn’t actually bite him, his heart was filled with fear. He didn’t want to stay in the cage for another second.

“Alright then, I’ll take the liberty to let you out. I hope Young Master Liao won’t trick me. Otherwise, it’ll be hard for me to explain things to Mr. Xu.”

“If Mr. Xu is dissatisfied with me, I’ll have to hold you accountable for that.”

    Liu Jun said calmly.

    Liao Zanfai nodded like a pecking chick, “I won’t! I absolutely won’t!”

A moment later, he was let out of the cage.

“Young Master Liao, I apologize for tonight’s inconvenience. Really sorry about that.”

Liu Jun shook Liao Zanfai’s hand with an apologetic expression.

Looking at him, Liao Zanfai’s eyes were filled with terror. “No, no… not at all. No inconvenience.”
