Chapter Index

Xu Shaochen wasn’t in a hurry to find Wang Ying’s parents.

Because he knew they would come to him voluntarily.

After all, their son had one of his legs broken.

If they didn’t approach him for an explanation, would they still consider themselves part of a proud family from Jingcheng?

Xu Shaochen contacted Liu Jun, asking him to find a few people ready to act anytime.

If the Wang Family didn’t know better, Xu Shaochen wouldn’t mind burying their entire family neatly in Jiangzhou.

But if they were smart enough, Xu Shaochen didn’t mind letting the matter slide.

After all, the Wang Family still needed to curry favor with the Chen Family. They weren’t much of a big deal.

This kind of small family didn’t worry Xu Shaochen as much as the Kong family. If they annoyed him, he could smack them dead with a single slap.

    Xu Shaochen returned home.

At home were Liu Rushuang, Liu Ruxu, Du Ruyan, Xie Wei, and Zhou Sixian, the five women.

    “Finished handling company matters?”

Seeing Xu Shaochen return, Xie Wei looked up and asked.

“All done. It wasn’t anything urgent. Just a dog who thought he was strong and fierce ran in. But little did he know, to others, he’s just a bowl of dog meat.”

Xu Shaochen sneered. Wang Ying was that foolish dog who didn’t even know his place.

“Ridiculous. Even a dog running in needs the Chairman to personally handle it?”

Du Ruyan casually remarked, then changed the subject, “We all know about Xiaoxian. What are you planning to do?”

The other women turned to look at Xu Shaochen upon hearing this.

“What else can I do?” Xu Shaochen replied casually, “I’ll talk to them and ask them not to bother Xiaoxian anymore. She doesn’t want anything to do with that woman.”

    “That’s it?”

Xie Wei seemed a bit incredulous, finding it hard to believe Xu Shaochen would be so soft-handed.

After all, Xu Shaochen had always been a forceful person, especially concerning matters related to his women.

Xu Shaochen rolled his eyes and said, pretending to be annoyed, “What else can I do? Let’s hope the other party is reasonable.”

If the other party wasn’t reasonable, then he wouldn’t be either.

Of course, he wasn’t going to tell this group of women what exactly he would do.

Because that was a man’s business. Women only needed to be protected by men, standing behind them without facing any harm.

    ………………

As it turned out, Wang Ying was somewhat lucky.

After having one leg broken and being thrown onto the main road, he wasn’t hit by any Cars, not even grazed.

One could say the traffic wasn’t heavy at that time, and the speed limit in the downtown area wasn’t high. Otherwise, he would’ve turned into a pancake.

After struggling on the road for over ten minutes, bystanders called 120, and he was taken to the hospital.

By now, the wound on his head had been bandaged, and his broken right leg had undergone surgery. What followed was a long recovery process.

“This is outrageous! A mere local Jiangzhou native dares to disrespect our Wang Family?! How dare they break my son’s leg like this! This is a death wish!”

Wang Ao, his hands clenched and veins bulging, stood by Wang Ying’s bed, his eyes filled with murderous intent.

He had thought it would be simple. Just reveal the Wang Family’s name, give them something nice, and the other party would sensibly make the right choice.

But who knew there were still people bold enough to break Wang Ying’s leg as if they weren’t afraid of death?

“I’ll make him pay in blood! No, I need to break both his legs! Anything less, and I can’t calm this rage!”

Zhao Li’s face was also extremely grim. After all, this was the son she raised herself, different from Zhou Sixian, whom she viewed as disgraceful.

“Dad, Mom, I want him dead! Make sure he’s dead! Make sure he has no place for burial!”

Wang Ying’s eyes burned red with fury, clearly unsatisfied with just breaking Xu Shaochen’s legs. He wanted him to pay a much higher price.

“Don’t worry. Focus on recovering here. I’ll take care of the rest for you,” Wang Ao said coldly.

He then addressed one of the bodyguards behind him, “Find out where that company’s boss is and then kidnap him. I want him to know what it feels like to be better off dead.”

    “Yes, Boss.”

The bodyguard behind him responded respectfully.

After a few more words to comfort Wang Ying, Wang Ao left with Zhao Li, flanked by two bodyguards.

Originally, they brought four bodyguards to Jiangzhou, but for Wang Ying’s safety, two had been left behind in his hospital room.

“That little bastard must pay the price.”

Zhao Li gritted her teeth, and along with Xu Shaochen, she harbored deep resentment towards Zhou Sixian, whom she considered a disgrace to the family.

“Don’t worry. I’ll show him what happens when someone dares to mess with Wang Ao’s son… like a bug trying to shake a tree, unaware of the heavens’ heights.”

Wang Ao said with a blank expression as he quickened his pace out of the hospital.

    “Tap, tap, tap, tap…”

Just as they exited the hospital, they were surrounded by eight burly men in suits, led by Long San.

Xu Shaochen had initially planned to wait for them to come to him but had grown impatient. So, he had Long San bring men to them instead.

    “Click!”

The two bodyguards behind Wang Ao tried to make a move but instantly froze as two guns were pressed against their waists.

“Who are you?! What do you want? Do you even know who I am?!”

Wang Ao, still relatively calm, barked out in a deep voice.

    “Slap!”

Long San raised his hand and slapped him across the face. “I don’t like your tone. Please tone it down a bit.”

“You…” Wang Ao, feeling the burning pain on his face, was enraged but ultimately forced to suppress his anger. He silently vowed to remember this slap.

“Coward.” Long San sneered at him, then added, “Our boss wants to see you. Come with us.”

“Who is your boss?” Wang Ao asked. He didn’t even know Xu Shaochen’s name.

After all, he hadn’t thought much of Xu Shaochen from the start. How could someone like him care to know the name of what he considered an insignificant ant?

    “Slap!”

Long San backhanded him again. “You’re not allowed to talk. Just shut up. You’re not exactly young, yet you have no manners.”

Wang Ao’s eyes turned bloodshot, overflowing with killing intent, but there was nothing he could do given the circumstances. The situation wasn’t in his favor.

A few minutes later, Wang Ao, Zhao Li, and their two bodyguards were shoved into a Mercedes and driven away.

Half an hour later, they arrived at Xu Shaochen’s old villa area, and the Car stopped at the front door of one of the villas.

    “Get out!”

Wang Ao, Zhao Li, and the two bodyguards were pushed out of the Car and walked toward the villa’s living room.
