“What are you all… preparing to do?”

“We’re going shopping with Auntie. She said she’s returning to her hometown tomorrow so we’re taking her to buy some things to bring back.”

“You’re leaving tomorrow? Mom you’ve just arrived why not stay a few more days?”

“Stay longer? A few more days and the chickens and pigs at home will starve to death. Most importantly staying here watching you is distressing!”

Li Xiaoli glared at him angrily.

“Ahem ahem well I’ll go with you all.”

Xu Shaochen coughed nervously twice. Forget it he suddenly felt it was better for his mom to go back.

Xu Shaochen didn’t speak holding his wine glass and swirling it gently waiting for Chen Dongqiu to continue.

He paused here giving Xu Shaochen time to think then continued:

“My business isn’t above board anyway so paying to get it back wouldn’t be a problem. But because I don’t have much influence there I’m worried that after I pay they won’t give me the goods and might even detain me.”

“I know Xu Corporation’s headquarters is in Mg Country so I wanted to trouble Young Master Xu for a favor. I won’t make any promises of gratitude as that would be insulting given Young Master Xu’s wealth. I’ll just give it to you directly afterward.”

After saying this he fell silent not begging or showing much anxiety just quietly waiting for Xu Shaochen’s response.

Because he understood clearly.

For someone of Xu Shaochen’s status if he truly didn’t want to help even if Chen Dongqiu knocked his head bloody here today it would be useless.

So he had done all he could now he could only leave it to fate.

At worst he’d give up that shipment. It would just be a financial loss but he couldn’t leave a bad impression on Xu Shaochen.

Xu Shaochen pondered for a moment took a sip of red wine then smiled slightly and said: “As it happens I’m planning to go to Mg Country soon. You can come with me.”

“Considering the wine tonight wasn’t bad I’ll help you this once.”
