Chapter 73: The Domineering Xie Yaohua
by xennovelMei Liangxin felt like there was no more love left for him.
One moment, he thought true feelings still existed in the world.
The next second, Xu Shaochen ruthlessly stabbed him in the heart. It was soul-crushing!
Xu Shaochen wasn’t selfish. Would someone who shares their happiness on social media be selfish? But to Mei Liangxin, it wasn’t so friendly.
The waiter finally noticed that Mei Liangxin didn’t recognize anything on the menu. Yet, thanks to her professionalism, she didn’t laugh and even thoughtfully recommended a few dishes.
After the meal, Xu Shaochen and Mei Liangxin headed to the Old City.
They stood on a rooftop, taking in the panoramic view below.
“Look below, see that area? Are those houses? No, they’re piles of red bills!”
Mei Liangxin pointed at the houses below, grinning at Xu Shaochen.
“Let me add, all those bills are mine.” Xu Shaochen said with a smile.
Mei Liangxin’s mouth twitched. Yeah, this really stung!
Mei Liangxin decided to change the subject: “How much did you prepare?”
“One billion five hundred million.” Xu Shaochen smirked as he casually threw out the number.
Five hundred million was borrowed from Linda, and one billion was compensated by the Han Family.
“Hiss—”
Mei Liangxin sucked in a breath of cold air. In his eyes, 1.5 billion was an astronomical number. Truly, comparing oneself to others can be infuriating! While others easily pull out over a billion, sometimes he even has to rely on donations to pay for a night out.
If this 1.5 billion is invested, the returns will definitely be significant.
The most crucial point is this money was almost like it was picked up for free.
“Tomorrow, I’ll send someone to discuss the acquisition of these houses. You should join in, after all, I can’t let you make money too easily.”
Feeling the wind whipping across his face, Xu Shaochen closed his eyes and calmly spoke.
Of course, he wouldn’t handle it personally. He intended to give Zhao Qing a chance. After all, Zhao Qing had just taken over Liu Hui’s demolition company. Handing this demolition project to him would serve as remuneration.
Of course, just Zhao Qing and Mei Liangxin wouldn’t be enough, so he needed to contact a lawyer.
“Damn capitalist.” Mei Liangxin muttered indignantly, but for the sake of his future pleasures, he couldn’t refuse.
“Clomp, clomp, clomp…”
“Mr. Xie, please, this way.”
At this moment, a series of footsteps approached.
Xu Shaochen and Mei Liangxin turned around simultaneously to see a group of people walking up.
There were five in total. Leading them was a middle-aged man in a silver suit, wearing glasses, accompanied by a young man in a black suit.
Long Yi and Long Er were just about to step forward to block them, but Xu Shaochen shook his head, indicating they shouldn’t bother.
“Mr. Xie, look—standing here, the entire Old City is under our feet.”
The middle-aged man in the black suit glanced at Xu Shaochen and his group, frowning briefly before quickly covering it up. With a flattering smile, he addressed the man with glasses.
Xie Yaohua merely nodded perfunctorily, but his eyes settled on Xu Shaochen. With a casual smile, he handed over a cigar, “Friend, are you also here for this land?”
Behind Xie Yaohua, everyone’s attention, including that of the young man in black suit, instantly focused on Xu Shaochen.
“Why do you ask?” Xu Shaochen caught the cigar, placing it in his mouth, as Long Yi hurriedly lit it for him.
Xie Yaohua glanced at Long Yi before turning back to Xu Shaochen: “Otherwise, I can’t imagine you’re just here for the view!”
“Heh, I’m just here to make a little money. Not as much as you’re making in big business.” Xu Shaochen didn’t deny it since the other party was also here for the Old City’s demolition.
Xie Yaohua nodded before calmly stating, “I’m Xie Yaohua. Let’s be friends. Let me have this land, and I’ll owe you a favor. How about it?”
His tone was calm, yet firm, leaving almost no room for refusal—more like a command to Xu Shaochen.
“Mr. Xie, right? I’m just looking to earn some pocket change. The Old City is huge, you wouldn’t be so domineering as to take it all, would you? Can’t you let me earn a little?”
Xu Shaochen didn’t agree or disagree, but the high-and-mighty attitude of the other man was a real annoyance. A single light comment to brush him off and take away his profits? Such arrogance.
Xie Yaohua frowned slightly. He hadn’t expected that even after revealing his name, Xu Shaochen would remain so ungrateful. Utter insolence! Snorting coldly, he said, “No one has ever taken what I desire.”
“Mr. Xie, I don’t want much, just a few plots. You can easily let one slip through your fingers. There’s no need to hog it all.” Xu Shaochen raised an eyebrow, already starting to get irritated.
“What if I don’t want to give you even a single plot?” Xie Yaohua stared at Xu Shaochen, his tone threatening. No one could snatch food from his mouth.
Xu Shaochen looked at Xie Yaohua for a long moment before suddenly grinning. With a flick of his fingers, he tossed the half-smoked cigar at Xie Yaohua’s chest, staining the silver suit immediately.
Leaning forward, he almost whispered in Xie Yaohua’s ear, “Then I’ll make sure you don’t get a single plot.”
With that, he chuckled lightly, pushing Xie Yaohua away as he headed downstairs.
He had tolerated it twice and backed off twice, yet the other party still pressed on, not giving any face. There was no reason to give a third face.
“How dare you! Speaking to Mr. Xie like that—you’re tired of living, aren’t you?!”
The young man in the black suit reacted first, thinking the opportunity had come, and angrily stormed toward Xu Shaochen.
“Ah!”
A second later, a scream pierced the air as Long Yi and Long Er simultaneously twisted his arms, pinning him down securely.
“Your master hasn’t spoken yet; a dog should think twice before biting. Bite something tough, and you might break a tooth.”
Xu Shaochen lightly tapped the young man’s face with his hand, then pointed to Xie Yaohua with a mocking smile.
The young man glared at Xu Shaochen with bloodshot eyes—the face slap had humiliated him greatly.
“Slap!”
In the next moment, the smile disappeared from Xu Shaochen’s face. He raised his hand and slapped the young man hard, his voice icy: “Eat too much and you might burst. Don’t you agree, Mr. Xie?”
“Thank you for your concern, but I’ve always had a strong stomach.” Xie Yaohua turned around, facing Xu Shaochen with a slight smile.
“Heh.” Xu Shaochen chuckled, then looked at Xie Yaohua, “Where I set my sights, anyone who dares to encroach…I’ll cut off their hands.”
With those words, Xu Shaochen left without looking back.
From start to finish, Mei Liangxin was just a spectator. His only thought now was: having money is really great.
Rich people speak so arrogantly, but someone like him doesn’t even dare let out a fart.
Xie Yaohua watched Xu Shaochen’s back, murderous intent gleaming in his eyes. He glanced at the stain on his chest and said with a smile, “This suit is quite expensive. Make sure he remembers not to be so arrogant next time.”
“Yes, Boss.” A middle-aged man responded and then headed downstairs.
The young man in the black suit pulled himself up, slinking over to Xie Yaohua, “Mr. Xie…”
“It’s okay if you get hit, but making me lose face is a big deal. If you’re this stupid again next time, just go kill yourself. Otherwise, I’ll send you off myself. Got it?”
Xie Yaohua spoke indifferently, the lit cigar slowly burning down to the young man’s face.
“Sizzle—”
A sizzle echoed as the young man’s face began to smoke slightly.
“Ah! Mr. Xie, I understand! I understand! Ah, ah, ah!”
The young man screamed miserably, tears welling up as he pleaded desperately.
As for the others, they all kept their heads down as if they hadn’t seen a thing.
