Chapter Index

    Xiao Li surveyed the room.

He took in the expressions of everyone below him. They all unanimously wanted to bow to Young Master Xu.

Some people remained silent not expressing support or opposition.

But Xiao Li knew clearly if he said to continue fighting those seemingly neutral people would likely jump out to oppose.

The reason they didn’t speak was because others had already expressed their thoughts.

In a word the Xiao Family had overestimated themselves and underestimated Young Master Xu’s connections in Jingcheng.

So now to protect their own interests they didn’t want to continue fighting.

Thinking of his two dead sons Xiao Li had to agree with everyone’s opinion no matter how unwilling.

After all the family was never his dictatorship. He could fight for everyone’s interests so they elected him as family head.

If he harmed everyone’s interests he’d likely immediately become a general without an army.

“Since that’s the case let’s stop here. Halt all measures and send out signals for reconciliation.”

Xiao Li said in a hoarse voice suppressing his unwillingness and humiliation.

As a father not being able to avenge his sons what a stifling feeling was this?

    “Tap tap tap tap…”

At this moment accompanied by hurried footsteps a Xiao Family servant ran in.

“What’s with this panic? Where are your manners!”

Everyone was already irritable. Seeing the servant’s flustered appearance they instantly became furious.

Or rather they just wanted to find an outlet and this servant was unfortunately it.

“Family Head bad news! The Third Young Master… The Third Young Master is gone.”

The servant fell to his knees in the middle of the living room and called out to Xiao Li in a tearful voice.

    Boom!

The living room instantly erupted in an uproar.

    “You… what did you say?”

Xiao Li stood up his face suddenly flushed. He forcefully swallowed the blood about to spurt from his mouth and squeezed out a few words through gritted teeth.

“The Third Young Master is gone.”

The servant said carefully with his head lowered.

    “Ah pu-chi–”

Xiao Li spat out a mouthful of blood and collapsed heavily onto the sofa. His face was as pale as a sheet of paper without a trace of color.

    “Big Brother!”

    “Uncle!”

Everyone in the living room was shocked and rushed to support him though they could understand Xiao Li’s feelings at this moment.

In such a short time all three sons had died. This would be unbearable for anyone.

“I… I’m fine.” Xiao Li shook his head with difficulty struggling to sit up. He pointed at the servant with a trembling hand: “How… how did Huang’er die? You… you tell me.”

    “It’s said that… that…”

The servant hesitated as if considering something and dared not say what came next.

    “Speak!!!”

    Xiao Li roared hysterically.

The servant jumped in fright and hurriedly said: “It’s said that the Eldest Young Master went to Meilan tonight to watch a boxing match. He happened to meet Miss Li Qianya the third daughter of the Li family. Under the influence of alcohol he attempted to take advantage of her. In her panic Miss Li stabbed him in the heart with a fruit knife killing him.”

After the servant finished speaking the entire living room became terrifyingly quiet.

No one doubted the truth of these words.

Because according to everyone’s view of Xiao Huang he was a scoundrel a degenerate a lecherous good-for-nothing a wastrel and a beast in human clothing.

It wasn’t surprising that he would do such a thing upon seeing Li Qianya it was to be expected.

Moreover the Li family was known for keeping a low profile. Xiao Huang might not have known she was the Li family’s third daughter. Under those circumstances doing such a thing was entirely within everyone’s expectations.

But the key now was that Xiao Huang’s death was one thing the Li family likely wouldn’t let the matter rest.

The Xiao Family was already in a precarious situation. If the Li family made a move the Xiao Family would certainly face dire straits.

    “Bastard! Bastard! Pu-chi–”

Xiao Li was so angry his eyes nearly popped out. He spat out another mouthful of blood and fainted.

    “Big Brother!” “Uncle!”

The living room instantly descended into chaos.

    At the Li family home.

Li Qianya sat on the sofa her pretty face pale.

As if she had just experienced a great shock her eyes held a trace of fear and her thin shoulders occasionally trembled.

“Qianya don’t be afraid. That bastard is dead and the Xiao Family must give us an explanation!”

Li’s mother looked at her precious daughter with heartache and said through gritted teeth.

Since she was little the third daughter wouldn’t even step on an ant while walking.

If it weren’t for that scoundrel from the Xiao Family attempting to take advantage of her how could she possibly have done something like killing someone?

“The Xiao Family! Well then I’ll personally bury the Xiao Family with this final shovel of dirt!”

Li Tianming said with a cigarette in his mouth his face so dark it could drip water his eyes filled with murderous intent.

    “Mom I’m scared.”

Li Qianya buried herself in her mother’s arms crying beautifully arousing great sympathy.

If Xu Shaochen were here he would certainly sigh that women are indeed natural actresses.

Xiao Huang had actually died at Tang Silin’s hands yet Li Qianya was now performing flawlessly.

This was the plan she and Tang Silin had discussed.

Xiao Huang couldn’t have died for no reason; his death definitely needed an explanation.

Since that was the case why not use his death to give the Xiao Family a push?

Needless to say this vicious idea must have come from that tomboy Tang Silin who liked to mess with women.

“Don’t be afraid don’t be afraid Mama’s here.”

Li’s mother held Li Qianya tightly and said to Li Tianming: “You with the Li surname what use is it just talking? If you want to avenge your daughter take action!”

“Let me tell you you only have this one daughter. She was almost violated today. What do you as a father have to say about that?”

Li Qianya had several older brothers and sisters but they were all cousins. She was Li Tianming’s only child.

Although she ranked third she was undoubtedly the greatest princess of the entire Li family.

Whoever married her would save at least 100 years of hard work.

    “Come here!”

    Li Tianming shouted.

    “Tap tap…”

A middle-aged man walked in lowering his head and respectfully saying: “Master.”

“After tonight I don’t want to see the Xiao Family active in Jingcheng anymore.”

Li Tianming said expressionlessly viciously stubbing out his cigarette in the ashtray as if he were crushing the Xiao Family in Jingcheng.

In the past dealing with the Xiao Family would have taken at least a few days.

But now the Xiao Family was already in a precarious situation. With him adding fuel to the fire it would be enough to burn the Xiao Family to ashes.

    “Yes Master.”

The middle-aged man accepted the order turned and left the living room to start carrying out the command.

For the downfall of the Xiao Family Xiao Huang deserved at least ninety percent of the credit.
