Chapter Index

    “Click—”

Su Zhaoming pushed open the door and walked into the Private Room.

In an instant, the eyes of Xu Shaochen and the others all focused on him.

Su Zhaoming paused for a moment, then laughed as he walked over to Xu Shaochen, “Young Master Xu, you didn’t like the wine just now. I was out of line. I should’ve personally brought it to you, so I’m here to offer you a drink.”

After his words fell, he downed the entire glass of wine in one gulp. Once he finished, he tilted the glass upside down and said, “I’ve finished mine, you can drink at your leisure.”

“Since you said I can do as I please, I won’t drink. You can help yourself.”

Xu Shaochen responded calmly with a gentle smile on his face.

The smile on Su Zhaoming’s face froze. He didn’t expect Xu Shaochen to not give him any face at all. He was just being polite, but he never thought Xu Shaochen would actually refuse to drink.

When offering someone a drink, if the other party refuses, it is an extremely humiliating thing.

Undoubtedly, Xu Shaochen was purposely humiliating him.

“Young Master Xu, I, Su Zhaoming, surely have at least this bit of face, right?”

Su Zhaoming said with a smirk, his grip on the wine glass tightening as his knuckles turned even whiter.

Xu Shaochen chuckled lightly, tilting his head slightly, “Do you think you have any face in front of me? Now, get out immediately before you ruin my mood. Can you do that?”

If at first, Xu Shaochen’s words were subtly disrespectful, now they were openly and blatantly slapping his face.

Rage surged in Su Zhaoming’s heart. His eyes seemed ready to explode as he stared at Xu Shaochen.

“What’s this, Su Zhaoming? Are you like your father, unable to understand human language? I told you to leave. Or, could it be that deafness runs in your Su Family as a genetic defect?”

Chen Ju looked at Su Zhaoming mockingly. He had no respect for this self-humiliating fool.

“Chen Ju, if it weren’t for riding on your master’s coattails like a dog, you’d have died hundreds of times by now.”

Su Zhaoming was cautious around Xu Shaochen, but he wasn’t scared of Chen Ju.

    “Bang!”

Chen Ju grabbed a wine glass and smashed it right onto Su Zhaoming’s face.

    “Ah!”

Su Zhaoming screamed in pain, instinctively covering his face as he staggered back several steps.

At that moment, several other members of the Su Family, who had joined Su Zhaoming for dinner, walked into the Private Room and witnessed the scene.

Their faces instantly changed, and they quickly rushed to help Su Zhaoming.

“Young Master Xu, Zhaoming is a bit drunk and offended you. We beg your forgiveness, please don’t lower yourself to his level.”

One of the older young men lowered his posture as much as possible, a smile of apology on his face as he addressed Xu Shaochen.

“Let go of me! Damn it, Xu, what’s so great about you? If you have the guts, finish me off right here today! I’m telling you, the Chen family is doomed! Not even Jesus can save them, mark my words!”

Su Zhaoming was extremely agitated, as if ready to throw himself at Xu Shaochen in a desperate fight, screaming hysterically.

In truth, Xu Shaochen was speechless—it was Chen Ju who hit you, why are you shouting at me?

    “Zhaoming, calm down!”

“Young Master Xu, enjoy your meal. We’ll take our leave now.”

They forcefully dragged Su Zhaoming out of the Private Room, afraid the conflict would escalate further.

Running into someone as reckless as Su Zhaoming, they felt like they had really been screwed over.

“Come and go as you please? What, are you still children? Don’t you know by now that you’re responsible for the words you say?”

Xu Shaochen’s voice was calm as he gazed at them indifferently.

“Young Master Xu, in your opinion, what can we do to settle this matter? Zhaoming, indeed, had a bit too much to drink and lost his head, sorry to make a fool out of ourselves.”

It was still the same young man speaking, maintaining a humble attitude toward Xu Shaochen the entire time. He was clearly better than Su Zhaoming in several ways.

Xu Shaochen smiled, “Alright, I won’t make things difficult. Zhaoming has ruined my appetite for the meal, so just have him serve me a drink.”

“Xu, you’re pushing it too far!” Su Zhaoming glared angrily, his fists clenched so tightly that his knuckles cracked.

The young man beside him quickly pulled him back and smiled at Xu Shaochen, “Young Master Xu, please wait a moment.”

Upon these words, the young man yanked Su Zhaoming towards him, “Zhaoming, don’t be rash. If Uncle finds out, he’ll never forgive you. It’s just serving a drink, what’s the big deal?”

“Well, then you go serve the drink for me.” Su Zhaoming said coldly. It was easy for him to talk, standing on the sidelines.

Not long ago, when he had offered a drink to Xu Shaochen, Xu didn’t drink a drop, which already slapped him hard in the face.

Now having to bow down and serve Xu Shaochen a drink was like having his face stomped into the ground for everyone to see.

The young man froze for a moment before awkwardly replying, “Zhaoming, it’s not that I don’t want to help, it’s just that he doesn’t care about me.”

Su Zhaoming snorted coldly. Though unwilling in every sense of the word, he began to walk towards Xu Shaochen.

Each step he took felt as if the weight of a thousand pounds bore down on him.

The mere few meters felt like a minute-long walk.

Xu Shaochen watched him with a look of amusement, pushing the wine glass over.

Gritting his teeth, Su Zhaoming grabbed the wine bottle, pouring wine into the glass. He spoke in a cool tone, “Young Master Xu, just now I was ignorant. This drink is my apology. Please.”

    “Splash.”

Xu Shaochen took the glass, his face turning cold. Without hesitation, he rudely splashed the wine onto Zhaoming’s face.

“Xu! What do you mean by this?!”

Su Zhaoming roared in rage, wiping the wine from his face, his eyes burning with fury as he glared at Xu Shaochen.

“Is this how you serve a drink? Pour again. I’m telling you, if your attitude doesn’t please me, you’ll keep pouring until I’m satisfied!”

Xu Shaochen placed the wine glass on the table and stared coldly at Su Zhaoming, ignoring his fury.

    “Alright, alright, alright.”

Su Zhaoming said “alright” three times in a row, taking a deep breath as he bent down, grabbed the wine bottle, and refilled the glass in one swift motion. Then he respectfully handed it over to Xu Shaochen: “Young Master Xu, please drink.”

Lowering his head, his eyes were filled with hatred and rage, burning with an intense loathing capable of incinerating everything.

“That’s more like it. I was starting to think you didn’t know how to speak properly.”

Xu Shaochen smiled calmly, patted Zhaoming’s face, then took the wine glass and, without a second glance, casually poured its contents onto the floor.

    “Alright, you can go now.”

Suppressing his rage, Su Zhaoming turned around and quickly fled from the Private Room.

When Xu Shaochen had dumped the wine on the ground, it was as if he had thrown away Zhaoming’s last shred of dignity like trash.

If Su Zhaoming hated Chen Ju, at this moment, he hated Xu Shaochen far more.

“One last thing: just remember, if anything happens to the Chen family, your Su Family won’t survive either.”

Xu Shaochen said lightly, causing Su Zhaoming’s shoulders to twitch, though he still didn’t turn back.
