Chapter Index

“Oh, fuck! Damn it, Jenny! Why would you get a Chinese guy as your boyfriend?!”

Jack immediately exploded, pointing at Xu Shaochen’s nose and shouting, “That guy? A short Chinese man? How could he compare to me! Jenny, he’s not worthy of you!”

“My friend…” Xu Shaochen felt it necessary to correct his behavior.

“Shit! Shut your filthy mouth, you bastard!” Jack viciously interrupted him and continued talking to Jenny, “You’re an outstanding American. Only an equally outstanding American man deserves you.”

“Jack is right, Jenny. I think your taste is off.”

“No doubt, Jenny. As your friend, I have to express my concerns.”

    “This Chinese guy…”

The others began mocking Xu Shaochen one after another. From his lineage to his identity, they ridiculed him as if he were worthless.

In the face of all this, Jenny remained calm. She spoke at an even pace, “He’s my father’s grandson, the heir to the Xu Corporation.”

    …………….

In an instant, the loud voices that had been clamoring moments ago fell silent, as if they all received a signal at the same time.

Especially Jack, who had been shouting the loudest. Now standing in front of Xu Shaochen, his face turned pale with embarrassment.

None of them could have imagined that Xu Shaochen’s background was so impressive. If anything, it far surpassed Jenny’s.

They realized they had just been frantically mocking someone of such high status. It was undeniable that being hated by someone so wealthy would be a very unpleasant experience.

In foreign countries, as long as you have money and power, no one cares where you’re from. Even if you’re not human, they won’t dare to look down on you.

“Say something! Come on, why’s everyone so quiet now? I thought my first time in the US, my first time attending an American party would be a pleasant experience. Guess I was wrong.”

Xu Shaochen glanced around, a mocking smile on his face, as if he was looking at a group of insignificant ants.

“Hey, Xu… this is a misunderstanding. I swear, it’s a… very strange misunderstanding. We’re all friends of Jenny, friends.”

Jack swallowed hard, forcing a stiff smile on his face, trying to salvage the situation.

“Fuck! Shut your filthy mouth right now!”

Xu Shaochen shouted, imitating the way Jack had pointed at him earlier, “Who the hell gave you the courage to look down on China? We have 5,000 years of culture and history. Your country doesn’t even measure up to a fraction of that.”

“It’s okay if you haven’t seen the world. Just read more books, browse the web more often, and learn more about the world. Don’t stay shut in your little patch of land, daydreaming in broad daylight. Got it?”

Jack stood awkwardly in place, trying several times to say something, but in the end, he gave up.

“Hey, Jenny, they’re all my friends. Tell him not to go overboard. This isn’t good.”

A woman in a red dress walked over and said to Jenny.

“Where were you when they were throwing shit at me earlier? Why didn’t you step in then and call them out for going too far?”

Xu Shaochen looked at the woman in the red dress with a sneer. This was the legendary double standard dog?

It’s fine when they mock others, but when the tables are turned, it suddenly becomes unacceptable. Obvious double standards.

The woman didn’t respond to him. Or maybe she didn’t know how to. She just looked at Jenny instead.

Jenny watched the scene with interest and nonchalantly shrugged, “Sorry, this is my first time meeting him tonight too. Expecting me to stop him isn’t a great idea.”

“Hey handsome, for their sake, I apologize to you. Let’s not continue. How about we all have a drink and relax?”

The woman in the red dress was helpless. Since Jenny wasn’t helping, she had no choice but to try to reason with Xu Shaochen.

If she let this continue, her party would be a complete disaster.

“Sorry, but I don’t have much of an appetite for drinking with a bunch of pompous, self-important idiots.”

Xu Shaochen shook his head, speaking calmly.

Hearing this, everyone’s faces showed a flash of anger, glaring at Xu Shaochen with hostility.

“What’s wrong? Mad at me? Want to hit me?”

Xu Shaochen showed a provocative, mocking smile, clearly asking for trouble.

“Damn it, I challenge you! Come on, let’s have a fight between men!”

Jack had reached his patience limit. He wanted to use this opportunity to redeem himself.

    Xu Shaochen shook his head.

Jack sneered, “You’re scared, huh? You can surrender if you’re afraid.”

“I’m afraid I’ll beat you to death,” Xu Shaochen said calmly.

    “Fuck!”

Jack roared angrily and assumed a boxer’s stance, throwing a punch toward Xu Shaochen.

“Watch out. He’s been practicing Taekwondo for fifteen years.”

Jenny’s face changed, warning Xu Shaochen.

Xu Shaochen dodged the punch quickly and lifted his leg, delivering a heavy kick.

    “Bang!”

His kick landed squarely on Jack’s abdomen.

    “Ahh!”

Jack let out a scream, stumbling back several steps before collapsing to the ground.

    “Jack!”

Everyone looked on in disbelief. They hadn’t expected Jack to be unable to handle even one kick from Xu Shaochen. Realizing what had just happened, they hurriedly rushed over to help him up.

    “Cough… cough… cough…”

Supported by the crowd, Jack looked at Xu Shaochen in shock, blood continuously pouring from his mouth, “Chin… Chinese Kung Fu.”

“To be honest, my level in China is just average.”

    Xu Shaochen modestly boasted.

Jenny rolled her eyes, not believing him, but she was also visibly shocked.

    “Hiss—”

Hearing Xu Shaochen’s words, Jack and the others gasped in unison, their faces full of shock and incredulity.

Was Xu Shaochen so powerful, yet he was only considered average in China?

China has 1.4 billion people… Oh my god. Just how terrifying a country is that?

“Is there even any point in continuing this party? Let’s go.”

Ignoring the clueless fools, Xu Shaochen turned to Jenny and said.

“Let’s go. No doubt, you’ve ruined my party. I even dressed up for tonight.”

Jenny helplessly shook her head, adjusting her dress.

“Hold it up higher, I didn’t get a good look.”

    Xu Shaochen said.

Jenny instinctively started to lift her dress before realizing what she was about to do. She shot him a playful glare, “Linda was right, I really need to be careful around you.”

Xu Shaochen gritted his teeth internally. That traitor Linda, always betraying him.

On the surface, she encouraged him to pursue Jenny, but in private, she was selling him out. Too despicable.
