Chapter 831: Scarface’s Shadow

“Take it slow, Young Master Xu. I have something to report to you.”

Mr. Chen ran after Xu Shaochen at the hotel entrance, his forehead slick with sweat from the effort.

Clearly, this was the result of not paying attention to exercise on a regular basis.

“What is it?”

Xu Shaochen asked indifferently, not giving it much thought, assuming the other party was just finding an excuse to flatter him.

Chen followed Xu Shaochen’s pace and said, “Young Master Xu, I noticed something strange about Mr. Peter’s behavior today.”

He knew Xu Shaochen would definitely be interested in this. It might even be a key step for him to advance further.

Xu Shaochen raised an eyebrow and slowed his pace involuntarily. “Oh? What’s strange? Be specific.”

“Young Master Xu, at noon I saw old Mr. Peter and the Johnson Family coming out of the same restaurant. They seemed to be chatting happily and shook hands at the entrance.”

Mr. Chen explained.

Old Peter and the Johnson Family had joined forces.

This was Xu Shaochen’s first thought, and there was more than enough reason to suspect it.

After a moment, Xu Shaochen asked, “What’s your name?”

“Reporting to Young Master Xu, my name is Chen Qian, born and raised in China.” Chen Qian puffed up with pride, knowing this meant he was about to be valued.

Otherwise, Xu Shaochen wouldn’t have cared to ask for his name in the first place.

Xu Shaochen nodded and said, “If you can find out what they talked about at noon and what they plan to do next, you’ll be prepared for a promotion ahead of time.”

He believed that if Chen Qian had come to report this situation, it definitely meant he had a further plan in mind.

If he only had this one piece of information, he wouldn’t have gained anything substantial and wouldn’t have bothered to report to Xu Shaochen.

“Yes, rest assured, Young Master Xu, I will complete the task!”

Chen Qian said, overjoyed. Just as Xu Shaochen thought, he indeed had his own ways to handle things.

“Do a good job. I have high hopes for you.”

Xu Shaochen patted his shoulder and bent down to get into the Rolls-Royce parked by the side of the road.

As the Rolls-Royce drove away, Chen Qian’s face beamed with a radiant smile, and he pulled out his phone to send a message.

If everything went as expected, his days of rising to success were just around the corner.

Inside the car.

Xu Shaochen received a call from Chen Ju in Jingcheng.

“Hello? What’s the matter?”

“Young Master Xu, I’ve done everything you asked. I went to the Su Family with the evidence. Su Zhaoming has been temporarily sidelined, and now a guy called Su Zhaofei seems to be showing potential.”

“But after careful research, Su Zhaofei doesn’t seem to be the mastermind behind all of this. He doesn’t have the capacity or ability.”

Chen Ju continued, giving a full report on the situation in Jingcheng.

After hearing everything, Xu Shaochen furrowed his brow slightly, his eyes half-closing as he muttered, “It seems the person behind all of this is remarkably patient, far more than you’d expect.”

“Then we wait. If nothing unexpected happens, Su Zhaofei is just a diversion. When the person behind him shows up, it’ll be almost certain.”

“Alright, I’ll keep an eye on things here. Young Master Xu, how are things going in the Mg Country?” Chen Ju asked.

“Barely a decent start, but it’s too early to say for sure.”

Thinking about old Peter contacting the Johnson Family and tomorrow’s golf appointment, Xu Shaochen sighed.

“Young Master Xu, I can’t help much from abroad, but I wish you the best. Everything’s under control in Jingcheng, don’t worry.”

“Hmm, let’s leave it at that for now.”

Xu Shaochen acknowledged and then hung up.

Ten minutes later, the car stopped outside the hotel where Xie Wei and the others lived.

“You wait here.”

Telling Long Yi and Long Er to stay outside, Xu Shaochen walked into the hotel alone.

He wouldn’t spend the night here as he’d be returning to the manor soon. After all, he still had a golf game tomorrow morning with the three family heirs. He was wondering if Jenny would have any instructions tonight.

Entering Xie Wei’s room, he found that Chen Dongqiu and Sun Hai were also present, and the atmosphere was heavy and somber.

“Young Master Xu.”

Upon seeing him enter, both Chen Dongqiu and Sun Hai greeted him.

“What… happened?”

Xu Shaochen was taken aback and asked, puzzled.

“We just received this.”

Xie Wei, her face pale, handed a box to Xu Shaochen.

Xu Shaochen opened it and saw a grenade inside, along with a photo.

At the sight of the photo, his expression changed instantly.

On it was Scarface’s beaming smile.

On the back of the photo, a line of words was written: ‘Xu Shaochen, I didn’t expect to see you in Mg Country. How considerate of you. Afraid I haven’t had a chance to take revenge? Wait for me.’

“A waiter just delivered this.” Chen Dongqiu added.

Xu Shaochen’s face darkened. He hadn’t expected Scarface to be in Mg Country.

But Mg Country was big, wasn’t it too much of a coincidence for him to find him like this?

With such an unstable factor around, Xie Wei and the others staying in this hotel was too dangerous.

Since they could bring in a bomb, it wouldn’t be difficult to throw another one inside.

This guy just won’t stop haunting me.

“Pack your things and come with me. This place isn’t safe anymore.”

Xu Shaochen said, looking at Xie Wei and the others.

“Where are we going?”

Tang Silin asked.

Xu Shaochen replied irritably, “I’ll sell you to a brothel to serve guests.”

“That’s still better than being ruined by you. At least I’d get to experience different men. For all I know, you’re probably the shortest of the bunch.” Tang Silin defiantly shot back.

“Ahem, let’s… let’s go get our clothes packed, Young Master Xu.”

Chen Dongqiu and Sun Hai coughed awkwardly, sensing that the conversation was heading in an unsuitable direction, and quickly excused themselves.

Xu Shaochen stepped forward, towering above Tang Silin, “What did you just say? I’m short?”

“Hmph!” Tang Silin snorted coldly, turning her head to the side, disdainful to respond.

Xu Shaochen leaned down and pinched her fair cheek, “Young lady, be truthful when you speak. Don’t lie with your eyes wide open.”

“Get lost.”

Tang Silin slapped his hand away and stomped out on her high heels.

Xu Shaochen looked at the hand that had just pinched Tang Silin’s cheek and sincerely praised, “So smooth, so tender, so bouncy.”

“So disgusting,” Xie Wei and Li Qianya said in unison.

Xu Shaochen nodded in agreement, “I also think she’s quite annoying. Not appreciating the fact that I took a liking to her is her loss.”

“What are you thinking? We said you’re disgusting. As in irritatingly despicable.”

Li Qianya rolled her eyes and threw a remark at him before getting up and walking out of the room.

Xu Shaochen paused, then looked at Xie Wei and asked, “Have they been getting a bit too cocky lately?”

“Nope, it’s you who’s been way too despicable lately.”

Xie Wei responded with a slight smile before going into the room to pack her clothes.

Xu Shaochen: “……..”
