Chapter Index

    Morning.

Xu Shaochen was tortured by Tang Silin as usual and then got up as if nothing had happened.

Feeling it was a win to sleep next to such a top-notch beauty, Xu Shaochen believed the reward was worth the pinch he had endured.

He even thought that this woman was annoying, probably had a masochistic tendency, and needed him to be forceful to reason with her.

    Ahem, emphasis: forceful!

“Auntie, what’s wrong? You look like you didn’t sleep well last night.”

When Xu Shaochen entered the restaurant and saw Jenny with dark circles under her eyes, he asked with concern.

Jenny rolled her eyes, expressionlessly replying, “Please. You all were like maniacs last night. Who could sleep through that?”

More importantly, she felt like there was a burning fire inside her body, tossing and turning all night but unable to sleep.

Of course, she wouldn’t say that part out loud.

“Really? Next time, I’ll make sure to gag them.”

Xu Shaochen, always considerate, couldn’t let his aunt, who makes big money, rest poorly, right?

Three pairs of angry eyes bore into him — Xie Wei, Li Qianya, and Tang Silin’s faces had darkened.

“Why don’t you gag yourself first? Eat quickly. We still need to head to the golf course later.”

Jenny shoved a piece of buttered bread into Xu Shaochen’s mouth, scolding him with exasperation.

After that, the restaurant fell into silence, leaving only the sound of knives, forks, and dishes clashing.

As a Chinese man, Xu Shaochen always ate his steak well-done. He simply couldn’t appreciate the bloody version.

So far, no one had ever told him he was wrong for eating it that way.

After all, when rich people eat well-done steak it’s called having taste. When poor people do it, they’re said to lack sophistication.

Such was the harsh reality of the world.

After breakfast, Xu Shaochen took off with Jenny, heading to a private golf course.

After about twenty minutes, they arrived at their destination.

    “Miss Jenny, this way please.”

The staff respectfully led the two into the venue.

    “Are they here yet?”

Jenny asked as she wore a pair of large sunglasses, concealing half her face.

Today, she was dressed in sporty attire, her curvaceous figure even more pronounced as a result. Walking behind her, Xu Shaochen felt it was quite a sight.

“Young Master Tony, Young Master Mike, and Young Master Jim have all arrived.”

    The staff member obediently answered.

Jenny further explained to Xu Shaochen, “Tony is the heir of the Nick family, Mike is the heir of the Karen family, and Jim is the heir of the Johnson Family.”

    Xu Shaochen nodded in acknowledgment.

The staff grew curious about Xu Shaochen’s identity but didn’t dare to ask. He kept his eyes straight ahead, not even daring to take a second glance at Xu Shaochen.

A few minutes later, Xu Shaochen saw six people, three men and three women, holding golf clubs, playing from a distance.

The group noticed Xu Shaochen and Jenny from afar, gave a polite smile, and put their clubs away.

“Hi, Jenny! Long time no see. You look even more stunning.”

    “Long time no see.”

As they approached, the three first greeted Jenny, then turned their gaze to Xu Shaochen.

Xu Shaochen also began sizing them up.

The three were all dressed in black suits, meticulously groomed, with permanent smiles on their faces. They exuded a calm and collected demeanor, making them quite pleasant to be around.

This was probably what people meant by a noble aura.

“Xu, hello. I’m Mike. It’s nice to meet you. Welcome to Mg Country. I hope you enjoy your time here.”

Mike broke the silence first, reaching out his hand to Xu Shaochen.

Although Mg Country folks greet with hugs, the two were clearly not close enough for that yet.

“Hello. But whether I enjoy myself or not probably depends on how well today’s meeting goes.”

Xu Shaochen shook his hand, giving a calm smile as he spoke mildly.

“You’re very funny. This is why I like Chinese people. Not as serious and dull as the Japanese.”

Tony and Jim also shook hands with Xu Shaochen.

Mike handed Xu Shaochen a golf club. “Dear Xu, would you like to take the first swing? See how your luck fares today?”

Tony and Jim both gestured in invitation.

Xu Shaochen chuckled. Was this their way of trying to intimidate him? They probably already knew his background and knew he hadn’t received any noble sports training, expecting him to embarrass himself.

It wasn’t that the three were petty, but making him mess up would apply psychological pressure, making him feel inferior.

“Sorry, I don’t rely on luck when I play golf. It’s all about skill.”

Xu Shaochen took the golf club, nonchalantly saying to a nearby woman, “Set the ball up.”

The woman frowned unhappily, glancing at Mike. Clearly, she wasn’t pleased that Xu Shaochen was treating her like a caddie.

    “Set the ball.”

    Mike nodded.

Only then did the woman place the golf ball in position.

For a moment, everyone’s eyes were on Xu Shaochen.

Looking at his less-than-perfect stance, Mike and the others chuckled to themselves. Could he even get the ball into the hole? Or would he just knock it off course?

Obviously, he hadn’t had any formal training. He wasn’t fit to stand among them.

Though they looked down on Xu Shaochen, they didn’t show it, nor did they taunt him. That would be too low-class and make them no different from street thugs.

They were nobles. They didn’t need tasteless and ineffective mocking. They only had to wait in silence and let the facts slap him in the face.

Jenny’s face remained calm, but she was tense inside, fearing that Xu Shaochen might embarrass himself. If that happened, the negotiations would certainly be much tougher.

    “Swoosh!”

Xu Shaochen swung the club down.

The white golf ball soared through the air in a perfect arc and went straight into the hole with a soft ‘plop’.

The ever-present smiles on the faces of Mike, Tony, and Jim stiffened as if they had seen a ghost.

The three women, including Jenny, all gaped in astonishment, their mouths forming perfect ‘O’s as they stared at Xu Shaochen.

“Oh my God, dear Lord! Is this magic? Xu, please tell me how you did that!”

Jim exaggeratedly asked Xu Shaochen, incredulous.

“Xu, you’ve really surprised me, you know? Your stance wasn’t even correct. I… I thought… damn it, I really misjudged you.”

“Xu, please tell me, you must be some sort of golf expert, right? That casual posture was just an act, wasn’t it?”

Mike and Tony were dumbfounded. They had been ready to watch Xu Shaochen embarrass himself, but instead, he had shown them up.

Xu Shaochen chuckled lightly, casually tossing the golf club to a nearby woman, and said calmly: “For people with real skill, the stance doesn’t matter. What matters is that the ball went in.”
