Chapter 852: Forced Fate is the Most Fatal
by xennovel“Tap tap tap tap…”
Moments later, four burly men escorted the two Scarred Brothers, their faces bruised and beaten, bound at the hands and feet, into the office.
“Mr. Xu, we’ve delivered them. We’ll take our leave.”
Forcing the Scarred Brothers to kneel on the ground, the four men then bid Xu Shaochen farewell.
“Thanks for the trouble. Make sure to thank Mike for me. He’s my best friend.”
Xu Shaochen nodded as he spoke.
Soon, the four turned around and left the meeting room.
“Scar, and this other guy who doesn’t even deserve a name. I didn’t think we’d meet again so soon. Fate sure is funny, huh?”
Xu Shaochen looked down at the Scarred Brothers with a mixture of mockery and disdain on his face.
Jenny, sitting nearby, twitched at his words. Forced fate… the most fatal.
“Xu, what do you want? Kill me, torture me, do whatever you want. In eighteen years, I’ll be a good man again!”
Scar stiffened his neck, uttering a classic line often seen in TV dramas from Dragon Kingdom.
“Bang!”
Xu Shaochen raised a foot and kicked Scar to the ground, planting his foot on his face while sneering, “Someone like you? Eighteen years from now, you’ll still be a smuggler.”
“Threaten me? Blackmail me? Challenge me? You two sewer rats think you’re qualified to fight me? You should take a look in the mirror—do you even deserve it?”
Xu Shaochen spared no effort in belittling them.
“I don’t even need to dirty my own hands to send you running like stray dogs. What could you possibly use to fight against me?”
Xu Shaochen put on an aloof act. It wasn’t that he didn’t want to get his hands dirty; it was just that in the current situation, it was better if he didn’t.
The two brothers’ faces flushed from blue to white, completely unable to refute him. The reality was that they were now nothing more than meat on the chopping block.
“Mr. Xu, kill us if you want, but you’ll gain nothing from it. I admit I misjudged this time. Let us go, and I’ll give you all the money I’ve made over the years.”
Scar’s older brother took a deep breath and looked at Xu Shaochen.
“Crash!”
Xu Shaochen grabbed a cup of hot coffee by his side and hurled it right in his face.
“Aaaah!”
The middle-aged man let out a miserable scream. His forehead split open, blood streaming down his face.
“Do you think I need your money? You’ve completely insulted me. The spare change between my fingers would be enough for you to earn a lifetime’s worth. Trying to buy me? You can’t afford it.”
Xu Shaochen sneered, then turned to Jenny. “Get the bodyguards in here. Have these stinking rats dragged away and buried somewhere.”
“No! Mr. Xu, I was wrong! Spare me, please… I beg you! Please forgive me!”
“Mr. Xu, spare me…”
Scar no longer cared about dying a hero in eighteen years. He embarrassed himself by pathetically begging for mercy, sobbing with snot and tears, completely devoid of his earlier arrogance.
“Weren’t you all set on being a hero? I’m only helping you achieve your dream. It’s just eighteen years. Who knows, maybe you’ll meet me again then.”
Xu Shaochen crouched down and patted Scar’s face mockingly.
Soon, four bodyguards arrived.
“Drag them out, find a place to bury them, or tie some rocks to them and dump them in the sea to feed the fish. Whatever you decide, just make sure they don’t come back.”
“Oh, and have the cleaners come in to clean up the floor on your way out.”
Xu Shaochen stood up and instructed the four men.
“Yes, sir.”
The four acknowledged and then dragged the two brothers out of the meeting room like dead dogs.
“Xu Shaochen, even as a ghost, I won’t let you off! You won’t die a good death. I’ll be waiting for you in the afterlife!”
Scar cursed as he was dragged out, knowing he had no chance to survive, so he didn’t hold back.
“Heading home?”
Xu Shaochen turned to Jenny and asked.
“I still have a few documents to finish. You go on first.”
Jenny shook her head, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear without realizing how seductive the gesture looked.
Xu Shaochen nodded. “Alright, I’ll be off then. Make sure to get some rest later.”
With that, he strode out of the meeting room.
Jenny bit her lip and muttered angrily, “Bastard!”
She had expected him to stay and keep her company.
But to her disappointment, Xu Shaochen left without hesitation.
With that attitude, he still thinks he can sleep with me? Keep dreaming!
Of course, Xu Shaochen didn’t really leave; he still had some things to do to coordinate Little Peter’s operation and better entrap the Johnson Family.
…………
The Johnson Family.
“You mean to say your grandfather’s been taken hostage?”
The head of the Johnson Family looked at Little Peter, his gaze sharp as a blade.
“Y-yes… my grandfather is being held captive by those filthy lovers. I need to avenge him!”
Little Peter gritted his teeth, his eyes filled with venom and rage, his body trembling with anger.
To avoid suspicion, it made sense for him to go to the Johnson Family that very evening.
“And what makes you think you can help avenge him?” Jim remarked carelessly, his legs crossed.
They didn’t doubt Little Peter because this kind of thing was easy to verify.
If Old Peter had truly been forced to surrender his shares, it made sense that Little Peter would seek revenge.
Little Peter quickly replied, “You have to help me! My grandfather has already secured the new medicine formula. If you agree to help me with revenge, I’ll give you the formula. If not, I’ll destroy it.”
He couldn’t give the formula to the Johnson Family so easily—otherwise, they might get suspicious.
“What did you just say?!”
In an instant, multiple gazes focused on him.
Little Peter felt a bit intimidated, but he mustered up the courage to continue, “Not only will you agree to avenge me, but you also need to give me a billion USDs!”
“Damn it! That’s not what I meant. You actually have the formula? You know what happens if you lie to us?”
Jim interrupted, his eyes cold as ice, speaking each word deliberately.
“Of course! You can investigate if you want. With your connections, it shouldn’t be too hard to confirm.”
Little Peter spoke confidently. After all, Xu Shaochen had promised his full cooperation.
“Alright, then. For now, you’ll stay here. Once we verify the truth, we’ll give you a satisfactory answer.”
The family head exchanged glances with the others before replying.
“I hope you’ll be quick. My grandfather’s being tortured because the new medicine is too important!”
Little Peter gritted his teeth. His acting skills were subpar, but his emotions seemed genuine, adding to the authenticity.
