Chapter 866: The Nearly Maddened Guo Zhenting
by xennovelEvening.
Xu Shaochen and the others had dinner on the yacht.
They planned to return tomorrow morning. After all, sailing on the sea at night was somewhat unsafe.
Sun Hai was back, but Song Shicheng and Lu Yuanwei were not. They were still roaming around in the mountains. That’s dedication for you.
“Brother, this place of yours is too great. How about I just buy a spot next to you and become your neighbor?”
Sun Hai said as they ate their luxurious dinner.
“You can afford to buy it, but you won’t be able to develop it.”
Jenny said blandly.
The smile on Sun Hai’s face froze. Why was this girl always so hurtful with her words? “Ahem, ahem, ahem, Auntie, you don’t have to talk like that.” Xu Shaochen gave Sun Hai an apologetic look. “Brother Sun, don’t take it to heart. She tends to speak her mind.”
What does it mean to speak her mind? Sun Hai tugged at the corner of his mouth. Brother, your words feel even harsher than hers. It’s like you just stabbed me even deeper.
After dinner, they all went back to their rooms.
“Knock, knock, knock…”
Xu Shaochen was playing on his phone when someone suddenly knocked on the door.
“Come in.”
Xu Shaochen said.
As soon as he spoke, the door opened, and Jenny walked in wearing nothing but a pink silk nightgown.
“Aunt, what are you doing?”
Xu Shaochen’s mind began to wander. Why did this scene feel like something out of a Japanese movie?
“I can’t sleep tonight due to the noise earlier. I want to chat with you.”
Jenny said, closing the door and sitting on the edge of Xu Shaochen’s bed.
“Are you sure you came to chat, dressed like that, in the middle of the night?”
Xu Shaochen stared at her skeptically. If I’m not mistaken, you’re not wearing anything underneath.
“Stop talking nonsense. What else would I come for?”
Jenny said impatiently.
Xu Shaochen shrugged, tossing his phone aside. “Fine, what do you want to talk about?”
“Anything, I don’t really know.” Jenny casually replied, crossing her legs.
This put Xu Someone in a tough spot, as he was sitting on the sofa opposite Jenny, and the angle of his view was… problematic.
“Aunt, if you can’t sleep, I know a better way to make you fall asleep quickly.”
Xu Shaochen said, feeling his mouth go dry.
“What is it?” Jenny tilted her head, curiosity flashing in her eyes.
Xu Shaochen didn’t answer, but instead asked, “This method is really effective for curing insomnia. Do you want to try it?”
“If it really works… then fine, let’s try it.” Jenny hesitated for a moment before nodding.
Not long after, she paid a heavy price for her decision.
“Ah! What are you doing, you little bastard? Let go of me!”
“Why are you yelling so loud? You want the whole boat to hear?”
“Bastard! I give up. Get off me. I’ll do it myself. You’re pulling my hair!”
Upon hearing this, Xu Shaochen released Jenny and got up.
Jenny stood up, tidied her messy nightgown and hair, then opened the door and ran out.
“You bastard, you won’t even leave me alone. You’ll just have to entertain yourself tonight!”
Xu Shaochen: “…”
What the hell? Hunting geese all day, only to have one peck out my eyes.
As expected, mom was right. Women are all liars, not to be trusted.
With no other option, Xu Shaochen went and knocked on Tang Silin’s door.
“Are you asleep? I can’t sleep. I wanna talk.”
Huh! Why does this sentence sound so familiar? …
New York.
In the hospital morgue.
Guo Zhenting stared at Guo Qi’s corpse, his face pale, fists clenching tighter and tighter. This man in his fifties was already in tears.
“My Qi’er, my Qi’er!”
After a long while, he finally wiped off the tears on his face, turning to look at Song Fei. “Your daughter and your disciple were there last night.”
“Vice Mountain Master, we bear responsibility for this too. It was my daughter’s fault for not watching over Young Master Guo.” Song Fei’s face turned pale, and he spoke nervously.
Guo Zhenting’s expression was as cold as ice. “Then tell me this, why is my son dead, and they are still alive?”
“Vice Mountain Master…” Song Fei lowered his head, completely unable to answer.
Fortunately, Guo Zhenting didn’t press the issue further. “What about that driver, did you catch him?”
“Yes, we did.”
Song Fei quickly said, motioning to one of his men.
“Let go of me! Let go of me! Who are you people? What do you want? I’m calling the police! I’m calling the police!”
Not long after, a fat middle-aged man was dragged over, screaming.
“Bring him next to Qi’er’s body.”
Guo Zhenting said coldly, without a hint of emotion.
The two men complied.
“Do you recognize him?”
Guo Zhenting pointed at Guo Qi’s corpse and asked the middle-aged man.
The middle-aged man shook his head. “No… I don’t know him, sir, I truly don’t.”
“Of course, driving that fast, how could you have seen his face?” Guo Zhenting let out a chuckle, grabbing the man’s hair and forcing his head down to face Guo Qi.
“Ah! Let go of me!”
The middle-aged man screamed in terror, struggling violently.
Guo Zhenting spoke firmly, “Look closely. Doesn’t this look like the man you hit and killed last night?”
Boom! Upon hearing this, the middle-aged man’s face instantly turned pale, finally understanding why these people had captured him.
“Brother… please… have mercy. I had a bit to drink last night. I didn’t mean it! I have aging parents and young children to care for. If something happens to me, how will they survive? Brother, please let me go!”
The middle-aged man sobbed heart-wrenchingly, begging for his life, snot and tears covering his face.
“And what about me? He was my only son, and now he’s dead! How am I supposed to live? Huh? Tell me! How am I supposed to live!”
Guo Zhenting, enraged by the man’s words, grabbed his hair, hysterically shouting in his face. His eyes were bloodshot, his killing intent clear.
Song Fei and Cai Yuanlin exchanged looks. Both could see that Guo Zhenting was losing it.
“Brother, I… I’ll pay you, okay? I’ll pay anything. A million, a million USDs. Will that be enough? Brother, please, let me go!”
The middle-aged man trembled in fear, wetting himself, his trousers completely soaked.
“Drag him out, and run him over with a car. After my son’s burial, bury him next to my son. Let him accompany Qi’er in death.”
Guo Zhenting released the man, his tone cold and indifferent, as though deciding the fate of an insect.
With his words, two men began dragging the middle-aged man out.
“No! No, brother, please! I’m begging you! I’m sorry! I shouldn’t have drunk! Brother…! Brother! Please…!”
The man’s screams and desperate cries reverberated through the morgue.
But Guo Zhenting remained unmoved, his face expressionless from start to finish.
