Jenny returned.

Two bodyguards followed behind her, holding a pile of documents.

“Young Master, someone was indeed following on the way back.”

One of the bodyguards spoke, looking at Xu Shaochen.

Xu Shaochen nodded and waved his hand, signaling them to leave.

“What’s going on? You didn’t explain clearly on the phone. Who’s trying to harm me?”

Jenny asked. She hadn’t understood the situation but followed Xu Shaochen’s instructions, trusting him.

Xu Shaochen explained the situation.

“What a joke. His son died in a car accident and he’s blaming you? That’s crazy.”

Jenny was astonished after hearing this, confused by the absurd reasoning.

“He’s probably just looking for someone to take it out on. His son’s dead, so he has nothing to fear. He’s going all out.”

Xu Shaochen sneered.

“Alright, lunatics are unreasonable.”

Jenny shrugged, seeming helpless. She was most afraid of people like this—untethered, yet still wealthy and powerful.

Because, such people are willing to do anything and can get away with it.

Xu Shaochen’s phone rang again.

Looking at the screen, it was a call from Tony.

“Hello.”

“Xu, do you have time to meet? I need to convey something on behalf of my father.”

“Just come to my place,” Xu Shaochen replied.

“Xu, is that really convenient? I think…”

Before Tony could finish, Xu Shaochen casually added, “Jenny just got back.”

“I think that’s a great idea. Just wait, I’ll be right there.”

Tony abruptly changed his tone and hung up immediately.

About half an hour later, Tony rushed in.

As soon as he entered, Xu Shaochen caught a whiff of perfume that wafted in with him.

“Hey! Xu, where’s Jenny? Didn’t you say she came back?”

After entering the living room, Tony anxiously looked around for any sign of Jenny. Not finding her, he looked a bit disappointed.

“Tony, Jenny knows we need to discuss business. So she went upstairs first. She’ll come down once we’re done.”

Xu Shaochen seamlessly made up an excuse. It sounded quite convincing.

Tony genuinely praised her before sitting down on the sofa.

“Xu, let’s get to it. My father has agreed to the cooperation. We can help you take on the Johnson Family.”

Because Tony was so preoccupied with Jenny, he spoke directly, without any beating around the bush.

Tony handed over a contract: “We’re willing to give you 2% of our shares.”

Tony responded, “That’s why we expect more than the Karen Family. We want 5% of Xu Corporation’s shares.”

“I have to say, you guys are quite greedy. The Karen Family didn’t ask for that much.” Xu Shaochen frowned, pretending to be upset.

Tony smiled smugly, “That’s because they didn’t give as much, either. Besides, Xu, the Karen Family asked for more than just 2%, didn’t they?”

Tony asked with a smile.
