Chapter Index

    “Clack!”

Suddenly, a crisp sound of a handgun being loaded echoed.

The middle-aged man pointed a pitch-black handgun at Xu Shaochen.

“Damn Chinese monkey, aren’t you good at kung fu? Come on, let’s see if your fists are faster than my bullet.”

Blood continued to drip from the middle-aged man’s mouth as he spoke through gritted teeth, staring at Xu Shaochen.

All at once, everyone turned pale and began scattering in panic. Americans were no strangers to the horrors of gun violence.

After all, in the land of the free, gunfights were a daily occurrence.

“I advise you to put the gun down now, or you’ll never get another chance to hold one again.”

Xu Shaochen stared coldly at the middle-aged man.

“Hahaha! You’re killing me! I gotta say, you Chinese monkeys really do have a sense of humor. Are you joking with me?”

The middle-aged man laughed wildly, pointing the gun at Xu Shaochen.

Xu Shaochen ignored him and turned toward Sun Hai, “Brother Sun, what’s going on here?”

Sun Hai had always been a calm person. How did things escalate with these guys?

“It’s a long story,” Sun Hai replied with a bitter smile and quickly explained.

He had just returned to the hotel and accidentally bumped into the middle-aged man with the gun at the front desk. He immediately apologized.

But the man wouldn’t let it go, accusing Sun Hai of dirtying his shoes and demanding that Sun Hai kneel and lick them clean.

The group hurled nonstop insults, belittling both Sun Hai and the Chinese people.

Sun Hai, who had never been humiliated like this, erupted with anger and snapped back with a few choice words.

And in return, he was met with a barrage of fists and kicks.

“Kid! Kneel down immediately, or I’ll blow your damn head off!”

The middle-aged man shouted at Xu Shaochen.

    Tap. Tap. Tap…

Just then, a series of footsteps sounded.

Long Yi and Long Er, having parked the car, had arrived.

Seeing the scene, both men quickly drew their own handguns and aimed at the middle-aged man.

    “Put the gun down, now!”

In a flash, the situation changed.

“You… you stay back! Damn Chinese, do you know what’ll happen if you kill a noble in Mg Country?”

Cold sweat trickled down the middle-aged man’s forehead. He switched the gun back and forth between pointing at Xu Shaochen and Long Yi and Long Er.

    “Bang!”

Without hesitation, Long Yi pulled the trigger.

    “Ah!”

The middle-aged man screamed as his wrist exploded in a mist of blood. The gun he was holding clattered to the ground.

Long Er rushed forward and pinned the man to the ground, pressing his gun against the top of his head.

The middle-aged man had still been thinking about resisting, but the cold feeling on his head instantly froze him in place.

Long Yi and Long Er coordinated seamlessly. Before anyone could react, it was all over.

Xu Shaochen slowly walked up to the middle-aged man and stepped on his face. Looking down at him, he said, “Repeat what you just said. Come on, I dare you.”

    “Fuck! Damn Chinese!”

The middle-aged man cursed. Getting his face stepped on by a Chinese person was nothing short of the ultimate humiliation.

    “Bang! Bang! Bang!”

Xu Shaochen raised his foot and stomped down hard on the man’s face three times.

The man’s nose was broken, his teeth knocked out, and blood covered his face.

The bystanders watching were all deeply shaken.

“What did you say? Try saying it again.”

Xu Shaochen lifted his foot off the man, speaking in a calm, detached tone.

The middle-aged man glared at Xu Shaochen, but he no longer dared to say another word.

    Tap. Tap. Tap…

Another set of hurried footsteps approached. A man rushed forward.

“Mr. Henry! Oh my god, Mr. Henry!”

The newly arrived middle-aged man turned pale upon seeing Henry lying on the ground, covered in blood, as if it were his own father he had just seen beaten so badly.

“Damn it! What are you doing? Let go of Mr. Henry now! You’ve really done it! You’re all dead meat!”

The man yelled at Long Er, though his Chinese was less than perfect.

“Who are you supposed to be?”

Xu Shaochen frowned, his disgust evident. From the man’s accent, it was clear he wasn’t a native Chinese—yet he was still yellow-skinned and utterly disgraceful at that.

“I’m the manager of this hotel! I’m telling you right now, none of you are getting out of here today! I’ve already called the police! Mr. Henry has been beaten like this—you’re all done for!”

The manager barked arrogantly, pointing at Xu Shaochen.

Xu Shaochen narrowed his eyes. “So, you saw everything that happened here clearly. Why didn’t you come out to stop it when my friend was the one getting beaten?”

“What’s the matter? Been acting like a dog for so long that you don’t want to be a human anymore, just for a bit of money?”

Within the crowd, other Chinese people looked at the manager with undisguised contempt and disgust.

“How I handle things is none of your business! Young man, you don’t understand the ways of the world. You’ll pay for your recklessness soon enough! This isn’t China!”

The manager’s face flushed with anger as he spat back at Xu Shaochen, cligning to his pride despite his humiliation.

He had indeed seen everything clearly on the security cameras but had chosen not to intervene because he couldn’t afford to offend Henry. He still needed to make his money in America—how could he go against an American?

    “Slap!”

Without saying another word, Xu Shaochen delivered a harsh slap to the manager’s face. He coldly said:

“So, you’ve even gotten a sense of superiority from being someone’s dog now? Your mother raised you with the hope you’d be a person—not for you to be somebody’s dog. What a disgrace!”

“You… you… Just wait until the police arrive! Let’s see how arrogant you are then! Do you even know who Mr. Henry is?”

Feeling the sting on his face, the manager was fuming with rage, glaring venomously at Xu Shaochen.

“Zhang! You have to do something about this, or you’re finished!”

Henry, still lying on the ground, glared at the manager and demanded.

“Don’t worry, Mr. Henry. I’ll make sure this reckless young man gets taught a severe lesson.”

The manager nodded and bowed to Henry, his face full of sycophantic flattery, like a dog wagging its tail.

“Xu… My god, someone tell me what I missed!?”

A surprised voice rang out. Barron walked over, looking utterly shocked at the scene in front of him.

    “Mr. Barron, save me!”

Before Xu Shaochen could say anything, Henry, still pressed to the ground by Long Er, urgently shouted out as if he had finally seen his savior.

Henry’s heart surged with joy. Damn brat, just wait for my revenge!
