After introducing the three, Xu Shaochen introduced Situ Wen to them.

The three only nodded slightly in acknowledgment.

Situ Wen retracted his gaze and looked at Xu Shaochen, cupping his hands in respect.

Since Xu Shaochen was the source of the issue, he had no choice but to plead with him.

“That will never do.”

Xu Shaochen was horrified and quickly said, “Mr. Situ, what are you doing? This isn’t something a junior like me can bear.”

“Mr. Xu, I beg for your mercy.”

Xu Shaochen clasped Situ Wen’s hand, his face full of guilt and apology.

Everyone present silently cursed the same thought in their hearts.

Situ Wen also knew Xu Shaochen’s words were nonsense, but he still played along, saying, “Mr. Xu is busy with countless matters. It’s no surprise such trivial things slipped past his notice. I am the one who’s truly sorry for bothering you today.”

“Xu, are all you Chinese this hypocritical? I swear, that old man is cursing you in his heart.”

It was Jim, grinning as if he’d just cracked the best joke.

At this point, Xu Shaochen paused before adding, “After all, I don’t mind sparing a little change for dogs.”

Tony and Mike exchanged glances, surprised that even now, Xu Shaochen could lie so boldly.

With this, Jim would be even less likely to suspect that batch of drugs was problematic.
