Chapter Index

Jones’ face froze, unable to speak for a long time. He could only look helplessly at his father.

He felt like he was about to wet himself in fear.

Jones’ father had seen much of the world. He wasn’t scared by the current situation. He looked at Xu Shaochen and said clearly:

“Sir, is there anything we can do to calm your anger? Please, tell us plainly.”

As long as his son survived and Xu Shaochen’s anger could be quelled, anything would be worth it.

“Do you look down on Chinese people?”

Xu Shaochen asked as he stared at Jones.

    Jones stuttered, “I… I…”

“I’d like to know the reason,” Xu Shaochen interrupted before he could finish.

Jones didn’t know how to respond. There was no real reason—he was just mindlessly following the crowd.

“Go. Kneel in the street and shout a hundred times, ‘Long live China! Anyone who looks down on Chinese people is trash!’”

“Don’t even think about trying to sneak out of it. I’ll have someone watch you and record a video to bring back.”

Xu Shaochen paused, then looked at him and asked, word by word, “Trash, do you understand?”

Both Jones and his father’s faces changed drastically.

“Honorable Xu, could we perhaps change the condition… this is truly a bit…”

Jones’ father looked at Xu Shaochen. If they followed Xu Shaochen’s order, they would become famous throughout all of the U.S.

At that point, their actions might even affect their relatives in politics.

    Bang!

Before he could finish speaking, the tray in front of Xu Shaochen flew straight at his head, shattering into pieces in an instant.

    “Ah!”

Jones’ father let out a scream, clutching his head as he staggered back two steps before collapsing to the ground.

Blood seeped through his fingers, staining his face.

    “Father!”

Jones cried out, but sitting in his wheelchair, he was powerless.

“You worthless trash. Do you think I’m negotiating with you? No, I’m commanding you. Do you understand commands? You have no room to bargain with me or the qualification to do so!”

Xu Shaochen’s cold eyes stared at him, as if looking at an insignificant insect.

“Xu, this will affect the fate of our family!”

Jones’ father suppressed the fury and humiliation, kneeling on the ground, his face full of pleading.

“That’s your problem, not mine. I’ll say it one last time—you have no bargaining power.”

“Either do as I say, or you can leave and do nothing.”

With those words, Xu Shaochen no longer glanced at him and picked up a napkin to wipe the grease from the corner of his mouth.

Jones’ father’s face turned from blue to pale as he knelt on the ground, unable to speak for a long time.

    “Xu, as you wish.”

It took him a while to finally speak.

After he spoke, it was as if all the strength had left his body. He slumped to the floor.

By doing what Xu Shaochen demanded, their family would definitely be affected.

But if they didn’t do it, their family might not even have the chance to be affected. They might be wiped out entirely.

“Long Yi, keep an eye on them.”

Xu Shaochen called out toward the door.

    “Yes, Boss.”

Long Yi came in, looking down at the two men. “Let’s go.”

After they left, two more people came in, swiftly cleaning the floor, making it seem like nothing had happened.

    “What exactly happened?”

Jenny and the others finally had the chance to ask what had been on their minds.

    “Last night…”

    Xu Shaochen recounted the events.

    “That guy was really stupid.”

After hearing the story, Jenny gave this evaluation.

That fool Jones had picked a fight with Fils, which was bad enough. But then he got Xu Shaochen involved, practically asking for trouble.

“Aunt, could I trouble you to prepare another breakfast for me? I didn’t eat my fill.”

Xu Shaochen looked at Jenny and spoke. He regretted using his tray to hit that dog just now—it was a terrible waste of food.

    “Alright.”

Jenny shrugged. She could only make simple breakfast dishes at best.

Usually, the food at home was prepared by professional chefs.

Just in this manor alone, there were five chefs dedicated solely to him, specializing in Chinese, Japanese, French, German, and Italian cuisines.

The entire culinary team serving her exceeded twenty people.

    ……………

    In China.

In the Qianyin Group conference room.

Although the room was full of people today, it felt especially quiet.

Everyone already knew what happened last night, and some had known for a long time.

Mei Liangxinying sat at the head of the table, expressionless. The meeting had not begun yet because she was still waiting—waiting for someone who had not yet arrived.

    Bang—

The conference room door was pushed open.

In an instant, all eyes turned to the entrance.

A young man in a white suit walked in. Behind him were a man and a woman. The man carried a briefcase, and the woman held a stack of documents.

“It seems everyone was waiting for me? I’m terribly sorry, the traffic was bad. I arrived late.”

The young man smiled as he looked at Mei Liangxinying. “I trust Chairwoman Mei won’t mind?”

    “Who are you?”

Mei Liangxinying asked coldly as she looked at him. She was certain she didn’t know this man.

But why was he targeting her company? And from his methods, it was clear he had already been preparing for a while.

“Miss Mei, who I am doesn’t matter. What matters is why I am here today. I believe you already have some idea.”

The young man didn’t reveal his name or identity, just beckoned to the person behind him.

“Chairwoman Mei, Directors, I am my boss’s lawyer. My boss now holds sixty-three percent of Qianyin Group’s shares. He is the largest shareholder and has absolute control of the company. He has the authority to restructure the board of directors and also appoint himself as Chairman…”

The man with the briefcase stepped forward, glanced around, and spoke calmly.

Meanwhile, the woman with the documents began distributing them one by one.

“Do you know who my husband is?”

Mei Liangxinying ignored the lawyer’s endless speech and coldly focused on the young man in the white suit.

The young man smiled indifferently. “Miss Mei, it’s better for a woman to remain reserved. If I’m not mistaken, you haven’t married Mr. Xu yet, right?”

    He paused before continuing:

“Moreover, Xu Shaochen doesn’t only have you as a woman. He probably won’t ever be your husband.”

Mei Liangxinying narrowed her eyes. The fact that he knew she was Xu Shaochen’s woman and still dared to do this made the situation all the more intriguing.
