Chapter 895: I’m Not Here to Watch Your Drinking Show
by xennovelXu Shaochen brought Li Qianya along for a reason.
He was doing this for her sake. She was the one truly involved.
“Mr. Xu, it is an honor that you’ve accepted the invitation. I am Tom.”
Seeing Xu Shaochen, Tom immediately let go of Jennifer and got up quickly to greet him. His Chinese was fluent.
Nowadays, if you want to make money from the Chinese, fluency in Chinese is definitely a plus.
Jennifer and Dennis shared a look, before nervously following behind Tom, looking uneasy.
When Tom extended his hand, Xu Shaochen acted as if he hadn’t seen it. He calmly said, “There’s no need for anyone to feel honored. My arrival has nothing to do with you.”
If it weren’t for the fact that this guy was helping Tony, who happened to find him, Xu Shaochen wouldn’t even bother with such a small character.
Tom stood there, hand still outstretched, looking embarrassed. His face alternated between shades of green and white.
He hadn’t expected Xu Shaochen to give him no face at all, and he felt both shocked and angry inside.
However, all he could do was suppress the humiliation and anger, withdrawing his hand and forcing a stiff smile. “Mr. Xu, please have a seat, both you and the young lady.”
Xu Shaochen smiled but didn’t respond. He led Li Qianya to the table and pulled out a chair for her.
Throughout all of this, he didn’t spare even a glance at Jennifer or Dennis, which only increased their anxiety.
Taking a deep breath, Tom signaled Jennifer and Dennis with a look, and the three of them sat down across from Xu Shaochen.
“Mr. Xu, Jennifer is my girlfriend. Dennis is her business partner and my good friend.”
“I deeply regret what happened this morning. As an apology, I offer you a toast. I’ll drink it all, and you may do as you please.”
As soon as Tom finished speaking, he took the glass of red wine that had been prepared beforehand and drank it down in one go.
Xu Shaochen remained relaxed, sitting in his chair. He didn’t even touch the wine glass, checking his watch instead. He said calmly, “I didn’t come here to watch your drinking show. Don’t waste my time; you have ten minutes.”
Tom froze for a moment. His previously confident demeanor was replaced by indecision after Xu Shaochen’s arrival.
“Mr. Xu, I sincerely apologize for today’s incident. Please forgive my rudeness.”
Dennis immediately stood up and bowed deeply toward Xu Shaochen.
Jennifer was still unwilling to humble herself, looking instead at Tom. She didn’t think that having a successful businessman as a boyfriend meant she needed to grovel before Xu Shaochen.
“Jennifer, aren’t you going to apologize to Mr. Xu?”
Tom said as he looked at her.
Jennifer, disappointed, pursed her lips but eventually got up.
“Mr. Xu, please forgive me.”
As for the bodyguard who had pushed earlier, he had long since knelt down, repeatedly kowtowing to Xu Shaochen.
However, it seemed like everyone was deliberately ignoring him.
“You’re apologizing to the wrong person. The one you should apologize to isn’t me. It’s her.”
Xu Shaochen pointed to Li Qianya beside him.
The two turned toward Li Qianya, then bent and bowed again.
Li Qianya remained expressionless, not acknowledging the two at all.
“Mr. Xu, are you satisfied now?”
Tom asked, looking at Xu Shaochen.
“Thank you for the hospitality. This matter ends here.”
Xu Shaochen smiled slightly, then got up with Li Qianya, ready to leave.
“Wait, Mr. Xu! Did you forget about something? What about the movie ban and Jennifer’s ban? Can those be lifted?”
Tom was stunned for a moment and then quickly stood up, calling after Xu Shaochen.
“Tom, was it? I think you misunderstand. I’m just an ordinary businessman and don’t have that kind of power. You should bring these matters up with the relevant departments in China.”
Xu Shaochen paused, then looked at Tom and said in a lighthearted tone, his face full of a sincere and warm smile.
Words, once spoken, cannot be taken back. There’s no reason to retract them.
In an instant, the faces of Tom, Jennifer, and Dennis all turned grim.
“Tom…”
Jennifer looked at Tom for help, her face full of urgency.
“Mr. Xu, isn’t this a bit too much? They’ve already apologized for their mistakes.”
Tom was seething inside. A worthless Chinese brat… if it weren’t for the inheritance left to you by your grandfather, what right would you have to act like this in front of me?
“Yes, they’ve apologized, but they haven’t paid for their mistakes. This is the price they must bear.”
Xu Shaochen had given them a chance in the morning, but they didn’t care. He never offered second chances.
“Mr. Xu, I hope you’ll reconsider for Tony’s sake…”
Tom was about to invoke Tony’s name to pressure Xu Shaochen.
“Slap!”
Before Tom could finish his sentence, Xu Shaochen slapped him across the face. His tone turned icy: “You think you can use Tony against me? Sure, I’d show Tony some respect, but who do you think you are? You’re just a dog he raised. The fact that I even agreed to meet you today was me doing you a favor. Don’t push your luck.”
Feeling the stinging pain on his face, Tom erupted in anger, unable to suppress it any longer: “Shit! You damn Chinese bastard! How dare you hit me! Tony won’t let you get away with this!”
The longer he had held back, the more explosive his outburst.
“What did you call me?”
Xu Shaochen’s eyes narrowed. A dangerous aura emanated from him, and his cold tone was as chilling as a winter wind in northern China, intimidating everyone.
Tom stared him down without flinching and spat out each word: “I called you a Chinese bastard! We’re in Mg Country here, you understand? Mg Country! This is no place for you yellow-skinned monkeys!”
“Got it. Thanks for explaining.”
Xu Shaochen nodded slightly, smiling at Tom. Then, he wrapped his arm around Li Qianya and slowly walked out of the hotel.
“Shit!”
Tom watched Xu Shaochen’s back and angrily raised a middle finger at him.
He dared insult Xu Shaochen like this for three reasons: First, he had been bottling it up for far too long. Second, because Xu Shaochen was Chinese. And third, because he believed Tony had his back.
Unfortunately, he didn’t realize that Tony and Xu Shaochen were getting along very well at the moment.
As they stepped out of the hotel, Xu Shaochen paused in the night breeze and said calmly, “That piece of trash earlier—I don’t want to see him walking upright ever again.”
“Understood.”
Long Yi and Long Er exchanged glances and responded in unison.
