Chapter Index

“I didn’t expect you to be so skilled.”

    One hour later.

Liu Qiao was getting dressed, her hair in disarray. Blushing, she gazed at Xu Shaochen with dreamy eyes, speaking softly like a mosquito.

“There are many things you wouldn’t expect.”

Xu Shaochen said nonchalantly. He had to admit, the experience just now was amazing. It finally satisfied a youthful fantasy, bringing him double the joy.

The two of them left the room one after the other. After all, they still needed to keep up appearances. The yacht was filled with old classmates, so they needed to maintain some face.

“Where have you been? Haven’t seen you around.”

When Zhang Liang saw Xu Shaochen, he stepped forward, asking curiously.

“I took a nap.” Xu Shaochen yawned. The recent activity had really worn him out.

After all, there’s the saying, ‘Better a tired bull than a worn-out field.’ Moreover, his recent indulgences had been taking a toll. Even an iron body would start to feel the strain. He definitely needed to find a way to replenish his energy.

Zhang Liang looked Xu Shaochen up and down. “Who did you sleep with?”

“Is it not possible for me to sleep alone?” Xu Shaochen rolled his eyes.

Zhang Liang snickered. “Hah, don’t try to trick me. If I guessed right, it was Liu Qiao, wasn’t it? You had your eye on her back in high school, and now your wish has come true.”

“She came to me.” Xu Shaochen said casually. The rules of a scoundrel: don’t take the initiative, but don’t refuse either.

When Zhang Liang heard this, his expression became complicated. After all, Liu Qiao had been like a princess back in their school days. Her parents were civil servants in the county, which made her look down on them, the poor kids from the countryside.

Who would’ve thought she’d now voluntarily show up and hook up with Xu Shaochen? People really do change in just a couple of years.

“Alright, what are you thinking about? Let’s go eat.”

Xu Shaochen patted Zhang Liang on the shoulder, pulling him out of his thoughts.

In the dining room, each table was already set with an abundance of food. These chefs had been specifically hired from five-star hotels.

All the ingredients were of the highest quality and guaranteed to be fresh. Combined with the superb culinary skills of the five-star chefs, this grand feast was born.

Everyone looked at the food on the tables and couldn’t help but gasp in amazement.

If it weren’t for Xu Shaochen, they probably would never have the chance to taste such exquisite food, or even see it in their lifetime.

Especially the paired red wine; many connoisseurs recognized it.

A 1990 Romanée-Conti, priced at nearly thirty thousand dollars per bottle. Every sip was like drinking a stack of bills!

Only at this moment did they realize how vast the gap between them and Xu Shaochen was and what true luxury meant.

To think they had been flaunting their BMWs and Audis earlier. This single meal could buy them several of those cars.

“Come, let’s raise our glasses to celebrate our reunion.”

Xu Shaochen raised his wine glass, looking at everyone with a bright smile.

    “Cheers.”

Everyone had been eagerly waiting to taste the wine. As it slid down their throats, the sensation of ‘drinking money’ left them savoring the moment.

“I propose a toast to Shaochen. Without him, we wouldn’t have had such an unforgettable gathering.”

    “Absolutely, we must toast Shaochen!”

Everyone chimed in, taking turns toasting and flattering Xu Shaochen in various ways.

After all, some of them were already working, and others would start their jobs after graduating college.

If Xu Shaochen were willing to lend them a hand, they could save years of hard work compared to their peers. So, of course, they were happy to curry favor with him.

But they were destined to be disappointed. Unless they were highly skilled or capable, Xu Shaochen wouldn’t offer them any opportunities.

After all, his company existed to make money, not to support a group of freeloaders.

If they couldn’t bring him any profits, why would he hire them? It’s not like he had money to burn. The atmosphere during the meal was lively, with everyone sharing amusing stories from school and exposing each other’s embarrassing moments.

Or reminiscing about who had a crush on whom back then, or how so-and-so was doing now. For a moment, everyone felt like they were back in their high school days.

Of course, the ones who toasted Xu Shaochen the most were the women.

Models and female classmates frequently approached him with their glasses, and some even gave him subtle hints.

As long as Xu Shaochen said the word, they would probably line up in his bed, waiting to be favored. They wouldn’t refuse.

However, Xu Shaochen wasn’t interested. His earlier encounter with Liu Qiao was merely to fulfill a youthful regret.

It wasn’t until the afternoon, when the sun was about to set, that the yacht finally returned to shore.

Gradually, the beach came closer, and more small boats and jet skis appeared on the water.

The yacht docked, and everyone disembarked.

Xu Shaochen had Long Yi and Long Er take the models home and return the bus while they were at it.

Xu Shaochen parted ways with everyone, took a cab, and returned to the city alone.

The car drove for more than twenty minutes. Just after entering the city, it suddenly came to a stop.

    “What’s going on?”

    Xu Shaochen frowned and asked.

“There’s a traffic jam up ahead. We probably won’t be moving for a while.” the driver responded.

Xu Shaochen glanced at the road sign beside him, then took out some money and paid the fare. “I’ll get off here. Keep the change.”

    “Thank you, boss. Thank you!”

The driver’s eyes lit up as he took the red bill, thanking Xu Shaochen profusely.

Xu Shaochen walked ahead alone and noticed a group of people gathered up ahead. There was also a black Rolls-Royce parked nearby, likely the cause of the traffic jam.

Xu Shaochen frowned and walked over, squeezing into the crowd.

On the ground lay an unconscious elderly man, and beside him was a middle-aged couple, clearly panicking.

“Dad, Dad, don’t scare me! Dad, wake up!” The middle-aged man looked worried and turned to the woman beside him. “How much longer until Dr. Li arrives?”

“He said he’s close. He’ll be here soon.” The middle-aged woman also looked anxious.

“If you don’t mind, why not let me take a look!”

Xu Shaochen stepped forward. He recognized the elderly man on the ground. It was Sun Yaowen, whom he often practiced martial arts with in the villa’s garden in the mornings.

Martial artists generally have some knowledge of medicine, and Xu Shaochen had learned this from his father.

Back then, his village was poor and didn’t have a doctor. When his father was alive, he was the village doctor, treating all kinds of ailments.

After his father passed away, Xu Shaochen became the village doctor. So, he had learned a thing or two about traditional Chinese medicine.

In an instant, everyone’s eyes were on Xu Shaochen.
