Chapter Index

On the way, Xu Shaochen learned that the woman’s name was Chen Tao, a very common name for a woman from China.

She’s from the north. After frequently hearing people from her village talk about how much money can be made abroad, she decided to go and work as a dishwasher overseas.

Then, after finding a local labor company online, she was tricked into coming here.

Such a pure flower of a girl, and as soon as she got to Meiguo, she was assaulted by the boss of that labor company.

And it wasn’t just by him—there were several of them.

According to her, some of the other girls being held there contracted infections, and then they were taken away to some unknown location.

They probably didn’t meet a good end.

After hearing that, both Long Yi and Long Er were absolutely furious. Killing intent surged, and before they knew it, the car sped up.

A few moments later, the car zigged and zagged before stopping in front of a small bar.

“This is the place. We all work here. They usually keep us locked in rooms upstairs and don’t allow us out.”

Through the car window, Chen Tao pointed at the bar’s door as she spoke. Fear was clearly visible in her eyes.

It was obvious that everything she had experienced here had left an indelible mark on her, causing severe psychological trauma.

    “Damn it.”

Long Yi cursed loudly and opened the door of the car, ready to rush out.

“What do you think you’re doing? Call for reinforcements first! Or do you think you’re Superman?”

Xu Shaochen yelled at him in a huff, holding him back.

After injecting the genetic serum, speed improves drastically. In close-range situations, you can easily take someone down before they shoot.

But if there are many enemies, and they all fire at the same time, you’ll be turned into a sieve. Even though the genetic serum enhances vitality,

getting hit by so many bullets still means certain death.

After all, this is only the first generation of the serum, and it still has many flaws.

Xu Shaochen didn’t lack the spirit for adventure, but unnecessary risks weren’t worth taking.

    “Yes, Boss.”

Long Yi scratched the back of his head and laughed awkwardly before pulling out his phone and making a call.

A moment later, Long Yi hung up and said to Xu Shaochen, “I just called home. They’ll be here soon, within 20 minutes for sure.”

    “Alright, then we’ll wait.”

Xu Shaochen said before pulling out a cigar and placing it between his lips.

From the front seat, Long Er saw this through the rearview mirror and swiftly turned around to light it for him.

    “Knock knock knock…”

Just then, a police officer knocked on the car window.

    “What’s the matter?”

Long Yi rolled down the window and asked.

“You can’t park here. Move the car right away, otherwise…”

Before the police officer could finish, Long Yi slapped two USD bills onto his face. “Scram.”

The officer looked around, and quickly hid the money in his pocket. He said, “You can park here for ten minutes…”

Another USD bill slapped onto his face.

The officer awkwardly laughed and said, “Sir, you can park here as long as you like. I’ll make sure no other officers bother you.”

Long Yi smiled, and yet another USD bill landed on the officer’s face.

The officer grinned from ear to ear, filled with flattery. “Sir, would you like me to sing a song to lift your spirits? I really like China! How about I sing ‘Descendants of the Dragon’?”

Chen Tao’s mouth fell open, stunned by what she witnessed. “See that? That’s the integrity of a Meiguo police officer,” Xu Shaochen said to Chen Tao, opening the window and tapping the ash from his cigar.

The officer quickly cupped his hands together to catch the falling ash, flashing an ingratiating smile at Xu Shaochen.

After all, people driving that kind of car were usually just the chauffeurs. The true big shots were always seated in the back.

“How much do you know about this bar?”

Xu Shaochen asked the police officer.

The officer’s eyes shifted slightly. “Sir, this is my first day on the job here, so I don’t know much…”

    “Thud!”

A stack of fresh USD bills was slapped onto his face, turning it red.

Overjoyed, the officer hurriedly picked up the money and stammered, “Sir, you’re here as tourists from China, right? Well, let me give you a warning: don’t go into that bar—it’s a complete dump.”

“The bar’s owner is a real scumbag. All the girls working here are your fellow countrywomen. But this trash has connections at the police station, so nobody dares give him trouble.”

“Now it’s time”, Xu Shaochen said with a smile.

“Huh?” The officer, confused, hadn’t understood what Xu Shaochen meant.

But Xu Shaochen had already lost interest in talking to him and closed the window.

The officer still acted professionally, sticking to his job and guarding the car, making sure no other officers came to bother them.

    “Vroom vroom vroom…”

The rumble of engines sounded in the distance as four cars pulled up. Soon, their doors opened, and twenty-something men in suits and ties got out.

    “Boss, they’ve arrived.”

Long Yi said to Xu Shaochen.

Xu Shaochen stretched lazily and said casually, “Alright, let’s go in for a drink. We’ll make sure to take care of them.”

Long Er quickly jumped out of the car and opened the door for Xu Shaochen.

Then, Xu Shaochen led his crew in a grand procession into the bar.

The officer watched this scene unfold, then looked over at the cautious Chen Tao, who was trailing behind Xu Shaochen.

His intuition told him this bar was about to run into big trouble.

    “What do you guys want!”

During the day, the bar was mostly empty, with just a few of the bar’s hired thugs drinking and gossiping.

When they saw Xu Shaochen and his group enter, they all stood up.

“We’re just here for a drink. You’re not gonna throw us out, are you?”

Xu Shaochen asked with a friendly smile, practically radiating peaceful vibes.

The bar manager glanced at them, and when he noticed several foreigners among the bodyguards, he let down his guard.

But when his eyes landed on Chen Tao, his expression immediately changed. He turned to the guy next to him and yelled, “Go tell the boss, we’ve found that damn Chinese slut!”

“Hey pal, that woman works for us here. You need to explain yourself.”

The manager said aggressively, as the bar’s thugs surrounded Xu Shaochen’s group.

“There’s one thing you said that really pissed me off.”

Xu Shaochen said as he flicked his cigar into the manager’s face.

    “Ah! Sh*t!”

The manager screamed in agony, enraged, as the cigar’s flame burned his face.

    “Take them all down.”

    Xu Shaochen said calmly.

The moment those words were spoken, Long Yi and Long Er sprang into action.

    “Bang! Bang!”

During the altercation, someone fired a gun, but it was useless. In just a few minutes, all the bar’s thugs, including the manager, were lying on the ground.
