Chapter 905: I’m Not That Petty
by xennovel“Don’t say I’m inhumane. If you can’t swallow it, I can give you a glass of water.”
Xu Shaochen looked at Chen Xun and smiled.
Chen Xun’s lips twitched, and cold sweat dripped from his forehead.
Big brother, is this about whether I can swallow it? It’s about whether I dare to eat it! More importantly, eating it could be deadly.
“Gulp~”
Staring at the glass shards on the ground, still stained with his blood, Chen Xun swallowed hard, his throat dry.
“Bang!”
Xu Shaochen lifted his foot and kicked, “Stop wasting time. If you’re going to eat, eat already. Stop dawdling.”
Chen Xun climbed up from the ground, trembling, picking up a shard and putting it in his mouth, then biting down.
The sharp, piercing sound of glass on teeth rang through the bar.
Chen Xun’s lips were cut by the glass pieces, bleeding constantly. In no time, his entire chin was covered in blood.
Jason, watching all of this, turned pale with fear. He sighed in relief, thankful he wasn’t the one eating glass.
“Crash!”
Xu Shaochen smashed a bottle in front of Jason.
Jason was startled by the sudden noise.
“Eat.”
Xu Shaochen uttered coldly.
Looking at the bottle shards, several times thicker than the glass, Jason’s vision blurred. He almost fainted from fear.
“Clunk!”
A gun was now pressed against his head. Xu Shaochen repeated, “I told you to eat.”
“No… you can’t do this. I’m a Meiguo citizen. You… doing this will cause a diplomatic incident… My brother is an officer at the police station.”
Jason shook his head repeatedly. The glass was too thick to bite into. Swallowing would surely kill him.
“Bang!”
Xu Shaochen’s gun slammed onto his head.
“Ahhh!”
Jason screamed, collapsing to the ground.
“If he won’t eat, let’s show some humanitarian spirit and help our foreign friend.”
Xu Shaochen smiled playfully and said to Long Yi and Long Er, “You two, feed him.”
“Yes, boss.”
Long Yi and Long Er grinned menacingly. They loved this kind of ‘helping others’ task.
Long Yi stepped forward, holding Jason down. With one hand, he pried Jason’s mouth open.
“Shit! No… let go…”
Jason struggled madly. His two-meter-tall, muscular frame was entirely useless under Long Yi’s grip.
Long Er, holding a bottle shard, stuffed it directly into Jason’s mouth.
“Ah! Mmmph!”
Jason let out a muffled scream as the shard cut his lips and blood poured out.
“Let me go… no…”
Xu Shaochen was a kind-hearted person.
He couldn’t bear to witness such a gruesome scene.
So he chose not to watch.
“What about your partners? Where are they locked up? Go release them.”
Xu Shaochen turned to Chen Tao and ordered.
“Yes, thank… thank you, benefactor.”
Chen Tao had thought of this, but since Xu Shaochen hadn’t mentioned it, she didn’t dare bring it up.
With his approval, she quickly rushed upstairs.
“Let… let me go…”
Jason found a sudden burst of strength, grabbing onto Xu Shaochen’s leg, looking at him pleadingly.
Xu Shaochen looked down. Blood from Jason’s hand had stained his pants, leaving a noticeable handprint.
Xu Shaochen’s face darkened instantly, “Do you know how much these pants cost? My aunt bought them for me. And now you’ve dirtied them.”
Long Er paused in shoving the bottle shard.
Jason gasped for air and hurriedly said, “I… I’ll pay. No matter the price, I’ll pay.”
Hearing this, Xu Shaochen’s dark expression cleared instantly. He smiled warmly and said casually,
“There’s no need. I’m not that petty. It’s just a handprint. How could I make you pay for that? By the way, if I’m not mistaken, that’s your middle finger, right?”
Jason nodded quickly, like a chicken pecking at grain, “Yes, yes, middle finger.”
“Chop it off.”
Xu Shaochen smiled and uttered three words.
Jason’s expression froze. The action of nodding came to a halt.
It wasn’t until Long Er pinned his right hand to the ground that Jason finally reacted.
“No! No, you… you can’t! You can’t do this!”
Jason struggled wildly, desperately trying to fight back, but it was all in vain.
Chen Xun, seeing this, shivered. Suddenly, those glass shards that had been so hard to swallow seemed much more palatable. He hurried up his chewing and swallowing.
Like I said, Xu Shaochen was a kind person. So kind, that he couldn’t stand witnessing bloody scenes.
So he got up, walked out of the bar, and decided to have a cigarette to calm his nerves.
He left Long Yi and Long Er behind to finish the job.
His four bodyguards automatically followed him outside.
“Ahhhhh!”
As soon as Xu Shaochen stepped outside, a heart-wrenching scream echoed from behind, making his scalp tingle.
“Vroom, vroom…”
Just then, a car pulled up in front of the bar.
Out stepped three white officers.
“Hey, Chinaman, is Jason here?”
The lead officer asked Xu Shaochen.
“You are…?”
Xu Shaochen, who had been about to light a cigarette, stopped and looked at them in confusion.
“I’m his brother, Vincent. I came to talk to him about something.”
The officer explained.
Xu Shaochen examined him carefully and asked uncertainly, “Real brother?”
“Of course. We share the same parents.” Vincent nodded matter-of-factly.
Xu Shaochen smiled. A smile with deep meaning.
A black man with a white brother… Hmm, perhaps only their mother knows the truth.
“Shit! Damn you! What are you laughing at? What’s that supposed to mean?”
Vincent, unsure what was on Xu Shaochen’s mind, could tell the smile wasn’t innocent. He became enraged.
“Nothing, sir. Jason’s inside. Let me take you in.”
Xu Shaochen smiled warmly, his face exuding such politeness it made others feel comfortable.
Without an umbrella like Vincent for protection, Jason wouldn’t be running wild like this. Perhaps they were even in cahoots.
If Vincent hadn’t shown up, things might have ended there. But since he came, Xu Shaochen decided to settle everything all at once.
“Lead the way.”
Vincent puffed up arrogantly. His status made him so used to lording over others.
He had come today to ask Jason for money. He had shares in this bar, and every month on this day, Jason would transfer the money to him.
But today, the money was late, so he had come to find out why.
