Chapter 909: Zheng Bei Takes Action
by xennovel“Mr. Xu, this won’t work. My colleagues had high hopes for your visit this time. If I return without success, I… I’ll be ostracized.”
The woman looked pitifully at Xu Shaochen, her eyes filled with unshed tears, seven parts delicate and three parts anxious.
Her words not only revealed her situation but also implied that the government workers were hoping Xu Shaochen would invest in Mexico City.
Xu Shaochen scrutinized the woman again.
Her silver deep-V body-hugging dress outlined her voluptuous figure. She wore a pair of wine-red high heels that made her look even taller.
If nothing else, just holding such a body in his arms would be a pleasure.
“Come in.”
Xu Shaochen stepped aside.
“Thank you, sir.”
The woman was overjoyed. She bowed to Xu Shaochen before entering the room, closing the door behind her.
Once inside, she immediately put her handbag aside and naturally poured Xu Shaochen a glass of water.
“What’s your name?”
Xu Shaochen sat on the sofa, casting a scrutinizing and slightly predatory gaze at the woman.
Though she was said to take care of his daily needs, the truth was that she was sent to be his bedmate. If he liked her, he could even keep her as a pet. Chale surely wouldn’t mind.
“I am Nika, sir.”
Nika answered respectfully, her legs close together and angled to showcase her graceful curves.
She clearly understood what her job entailed—tour guide, daily attendant, and providing for Xu Shaochen’s physical needs.
“All the Mexican government officials speak Chinese this well?”
As Xu Shaochen spoke, he placed a hand on Nika’s hand. Her tanned skin was smooth and soft, not rough at all.
Just like Chale, who had spoken excellent Chinese when picking him up earlier, Nika’s fluency in the language was quite impressive.
Nika made no attempt to resist Xu Shaochen’s touch. In Mexico, women held a lower status, especially compared to men.
To Nika, being favored by Xu Shaochen was a blessing in itself.
“I studied abroad in the capital of China.”
Nika explained as to why she was so fluent in Chinese, while naturally leaning her body against Xu Shaochen’s shoulder.
Feeling her ample chest pressing against his arm, Xu Shaochen’s thoughts drifted.
It’s not like he hadn’t been with women before. On the contrary, all his women were beauties.
But, much like toys, something new always brings a unique thrill.
“Sir, let me serve you.”
Nika smiled seductively, clearly understanding what Xu Shaochen wanted. She dutifully moved to cater to his needs…
An hour later, silence fell over the living room. Only their discarded clothes remained scattered across the floor.
“Clean this up.”
Glancing at the exhausted Nika slumped on the couch, Xu Shaochen casually left her an instruction before heading to the bathroom to shower.
For him, his relationship with Nika would last only as long as his stay in Mexico City.
When he left Mexico, Xu Shaochen knew he would forget her entirely.
After all, there were no feelings between them. For Nika, this was just part of the job—serving Xu Shaochen with full dedication.
As for Xu Shaochen, it was just about enjoying something new. There was no point in refusing a willing offer since he wouldn’t have to take any responsibility.
………………
Zheng Bei had quietly returned to Mexico yesterday.
Not even Miguel, let alone his wife, knew about it.
The only ones aware of his return were a few of his most trusted men.
Inside a villa.
Zheng Bei sat at the head of the room, a cigar in his mouth. His somber face appeared and disappeared through the swirling smoke.
Four young men sat around the table. These four were not the highest-ranking members of his company, but they were the ones he trusted the most.
For Zheng Bei, promoting young talent was the best choice.
Youngsters have drive, courage, and no family ties to hold them back. They’re willing to fight, to push forward, and their fiery spirits are easy to mold.
Middle-aged men were different.
Most middle-aged men had wives and children to worry about, which made them cautious and easily bribed. Their complex thoughts made them hard to control.
The four youths sitting in the living room now may not have been Zheng Bei’s highest-ranking subordinates, but they were absolutely the most reliable.
“Boss, why did you come back all of a sudden? Is there something important you want us to do?”
The first youth sitting to Zheng Bei’s lower left asked, while the other three looked at Zheng Bei with the same curiosity.
Excitement and anticipation filled their hearts. They could all sense that something huge was about to happen.
Zheng Bei had returned to Mexico so quietly and had secretly gathered them together. Clearly, whatever mission was in store for them was of great importance.
The thought sent a thrill of excitement through them.
Zheng Bei took the cigar from his mouth and causally tossed it into the trash. In a nonchalant tone, he asked, “Have you heard that Xu Shaochen is in Mexico?”
“Of course, the whole city knows. Even Chale personally went to the airport to meet him. Today, the entire city is under a gun ban.”
“Exactly, and I’ve heard the city will maintain strict control during Xu Shaochen’s entire stay. It’s not just the authorities, even the big boss gave orders about it.”
The four men chimed in, their eyes gleaming with ambition. The ‘big boss’ in their conversation was naturally Miguel.
“Hmph.”
Seeing all the commotion Mexico City was making over Xu Shaochen’s visit, Zheng Bei couldn’t help but snort coldly before casually saying:
“I have a blood feud with that Xu family. I want him dead.”
Instantly, the atmosphere in the living room grew tense, the temperature dropping as silence took over.
The four young men exchanged glances, shocked by the bombshell Zheng Bei had just dropped.
“Are you scared?”
Zheng Bei scanned the room, gauging the expressions of the four men and asked in a calm tone.
“Not at all! Boss, without you, we’d still be nobodies in the company. We might even be dead by now, killed by some rival. Whatever you say, we’ll do it!”
“Exactly, boss! If he’s your enemy, he’s our enemy. If you want to kill him, we’ll help.”
“He’s just a rich second-generation boy. What’s so special about him? We’ve faced battles against rival groups before. I’m not afraid!”
After a moment of silence, the four men voiced their support one by one, their confidence escalating with each word. They even seemed eager as if they couldn’t wait to take action.
They were young and ruthless, men who had clawed their way out from the lowest rungs of society. As the saying goes, ‘Barefoot people aren’t afraid of those with shoes.’
What’s more, the very thought of assassinating the world’s richest man made their blood boil with anticipation.
