Chapter Index

    Penguin Corporation Headquarters.

The conference room was filled with people.

A clip of Xu Shaochen being interviewed outside the airport was playing on the big screen.

After it finished, the room fell silent.

“Who would’ve thought, this Xu millionaire is quite the playboy, with a hobby of collecting beauties.”

After a while, a vice president made a joke, breaking the awkward silence.

    The others burst into laughter.

“Alright, share your thoughts. Xu Corporation has entered with full force. The dynamics of the gaming industry might be changing soon.”

The president of Penguin Corporation raised his hand, signaling everyone to quiet down.

“Honestly, there’s no need to worry so much. The Xu Corporation may be powerful, but they’ve never touched the gaming industry before. Here, they’re basically beginners. What could they possibly use to compete with us?”

“Exactly. He’s young and inexperienced. He just inherited a fortune. Young people can get overly excited, but his enthusiasm might wane in a few days.”

“In China’s gaming industry, Penguin Corporation is the leader. This position wasn’t built overnight, and no one can shake it.”

“As for their so-called VR Technology, that’s even more laughable. If VR tech was really mature, it wouldn’t first be used in the gaming industry.”

Everyone expressed their opinions. In summary, no one was taking Xu Shaochen seriously.

These were industry veterans, and they weren’t fazed by the bold claims of someone as young as Xu Shaochen.

The Xu Corporation is powerful, but in the gaming industry, they are total newcomers and nowhere near qualified to compete.

“Confidence is good, but we shouldn’t get cocky. Even if Xu Corporation is just dipping their toes in, ordinary people can’t compare to them. We should still keep an eye on their actions.”

The president of Penguin Corporation remained silent for a while before speaking. He had a gut feeling that if they didn’t handle Xu Corporation’s entrance properly, Penguin’s dominance might crumble.

A similar scene played out in the Pig Farm Corporation’s boardroom.

But unlike Penguin, Pig Farm had a different perspective on Xu Shaochen’s entry into the scene.

They suggested sending someone to reach out and see if they could work together to take some of Penguin Corporation’s market share.

After all, the gap between Pig Farm and Penguin is huge. If Xu Corporation’s investments flowed into Pig Farm, they might stand a chance against Penguin in battle.

Xu Shaochen knew nothing of this. By then, he had already reached home.

“President, are you planning to stay in China long this time?”

Linda felt a bit nervous around Jenny, as she had once been an employee under her.

“Just call me Jenny. I won’t stay long. Someone still has to manage things back in Meiguo.”

As Jenny spoke, she looked Linda up and down, noticing that Linda was even more charming than she remembered—her every expression was seductive.

“Jenny, I think you should just move the headquarters to China. That way, we could all be together.”

Linda suggested, and the other women echoed her sentiment.

Jenny shook her head: “The headquarters are moving. The location’s already been decided, but it’s not in China. You’ll know soon.”

In fact, the new headquarters for Xu Corporation had already been planned on an island.

Xu Shaochen was on the phone with Mike, explaining why he didn’t say goodbye before leaving.

In reality, Mike was mainly fishing for when Jenny would return to Meiguo.

Xu Shaochen just made up a date to appease him.

    “What were you talking about?”

After hanging up, Xu Shaochen walked over, looking at the women sprawled on the sofa. He couldn’t help but feel a sense of pride.

“Living the dream, huh? This must be what people mean by enjoying the good life.”

“Nothing much. Oh, by the way, the school called me just now.”

Zhao Qingyu glanced over and said.

“Didn’t you resign? What would they need you for?” Xu Shaochen asked.

Zhao Qingyu blushed slightly, giving Xu Shaochen an annoyed look: “It’s not me, they’re looking for you. You’ve been so flamboyant at school that everyone knows I’m your woman.”

“Alright, what do they want from me?” Xu Shaochen chuckled, pulling Zhou Sixian into his arms.

Zhou Sixian shyly leaned into him, letting Xu Shaochen do as he pleased.

Zhao Qingyu said, “Tomorrow’s the first day of school. They know you’re back and want you to give a speech to the new students at the opening ceremony.”

“Fine, go ahead and accept it for me.”

Xu Shaochen nodded. Tomorrow he planned to inform the school he would no longer attend classes personally, just keeping his name on the roster.

With his current status, even if he never showed up again, by graduation, the school would still respectfully deliver his diploma to him.

After all, Jiangzhou University could use Xu Shaochen for future promotions, inviting him to speeches or events like their anniversary celebration.

    “Alright, I’ll let them know.”

Zhao Qingyu confirmed again and gave the school a callback.

Then, Xu Shaochen faced a long line of visitors.

Ever since his return, people had been visiting in an endless stream.

They were all at least somewhat close to him. Even though he was impatient, he had to greet them with a smile. It wouldn’t do to just kick them out.

    Night fell.

Mei Liangying, Zhang Wei, and Zhao Qing invited Xu Shaochen to dinner, saying they wanted to throw him a welcome party.

During Xu Shaochen’s time abroad, Zhang Wei and Zhao Qing had both found girlfriends, and tonight they were bringing them out for Xu Shaochen to meet.

At nine, Xu Shaochen took Jenny and Song Xinran to the dinner.

With so many women at home, it would’ve been overwhelming to take them all.

The manager of Jiangzhou’s top hotel was an old acquaintance of Xu Shaochen and personally greeted him at the entrance.

“Mr. Xu, long time no see. Welcome back to Jiangzhou. And to your lovely wives as well. Please, head inside.”

Meanwhile, in the hotel’s largest private room.

Zhang Wei and Zhao Qing had already arrived, but Mei Liangxin had yet to show up.

Sitting next to both of them were two women who looked quite similar. Clearly, they were sisters.

Zhang Wei had won the heart of the elder sister, Zhou Yu, while Zhao Qing had gotten the younger, Zhou Xue.

“Zhao Qing, who are we waiting for? It’s been a while, and they still haven’t arrived. Do they really think they’re that important?”

Zhou Xue grumbled impatiently while touching up her makeup.

As Zhao Qing’s status had risen, they were usually the ones who made others wait, so having to wait for someone else now frustrated Zhou Xue.

Zhao Qing’s face darkened: “The person we’re waiting for is someone who gave me my big break, so if you’re impatient, you can just leave.”

    “Sister, don’t act out.”

Zhou Yu scolded her sister, a little annoyed at her lack of tact.

Seeing this, Zhang Wei silently thanked his lucky stars that he had pursued Zhou Yu instead of Zhou Xue.
